Thanks for the review. One of the most straightforward and clear from the miniatures point of view. Looking forward to build them myself when the box arrives. Good luck with transferring this force into an army and keep on the hobby!
Ah, the stress and joys of assembling minis. Though when it comes to assembly Corvus Belli has gotten a lot better with their fiddly bits, Wyrd games have their fiddly bits, and GW has some beautiful models with just a grass strand making it look like the thing is an empty suit of armor or floating. Don't you dare breath though then the piece decides to slip or snap.
Now if only I could decide on how I want to paint them... Rather than do the boring old silver and brass, I keep seeing those metal skeletons and thinking Boomers from Bubble Gum Crisis. If I do them in a teal/blue-green with some brass ala Nihilakh I'd have a legit dynasty but 80s anime baddies as well... would I want to do their weaponry in traditional greens or evil anime reds? Decisions, decisions..
I can't say I'm interested in GW games, but I can't fault the array of interesting models. There aren't many companies that are making HIPS plastic models as good as GW (KD:M is another fantastic HIPS model manufacturer). We are getting the Indomitus box for my brother for Christmas so he will have an entry point to play with a gaming group local to him. I suspect I will end up painting a lot of these models, and I am not looking forward to trying to get into a lot of the hard to reach places with some of these models. It looks like leaving off a shield or arm of a marine shouldn't be too difficult, but with the necrons... I'm concerned I will struggle to find ways to paint them in sub assemblies.
It's Necrons though- blast them with a gunmetal spray and you could get away with saying they're finished! I've started slopping my way through them and the only one I feel will be an issue is the giant tripod walker (Canoptek Reanimator). Marines are another story, but looking at their assembly most shield arms tend to be easily left off.
I think it depends on the amount of models you'll need and their intended use. I doubt I'm going to ever have the volume needed for an Apocalypse game so I don't have a need to buy multiple boxes (not that I could even if I wanted another). Considering there isn't a single repeat sculpt, especially if you equip the warrior squads differently, that's pretty impressive. Plus at this point with GW it's not like we really have all that much choice in how the models get built. At least companies like Wargames Atlantic and Northstar are keeping the modular/ customizing spirit of wargaming alive.
Necrons are always a bit fragile, just due to their spindly nature. At least once built I feel these hold together pretty sturdy. Not chunky marine sturdy, but sturdier than some of the flimsier resin stuff in my collection at least.
Most likely from Miniature Market. They're the only store I know of that has them- probably due to them buying up a lot of the remaining stock from Alien Dungeon before they went under.

Sweet update buddy.

@@ObscuritiesinMiniature 100% red weapons. Be cool to see or even blue would be different

I guess people have no problems with fixed pose minis?

Are they very fragile compared to other miniatures, lets say the space marines counterpart?

Thanks lots.
Where'd you get that martian front tripod? :O
