This was a great way to frame the nuances that happen between people. It's been sort of hard to put my finger on but this explains it. Approach anxiety is not a thing. Most cases the person just doesn't want to have their bubble popped because to approach means you give yourself up to scrutiny. And if you're found to be anything other than what you think you are by the person you're approaching you risk that bubble being popped. Thanks this helps.

If someone is being an asshole towards you, a simple insult and utterly destroying their pride can stop them dead in their tracks and the cycle ends there. Ignoring or kindness doesn't always work because some people are just plain psychopaths who take pleasure in making themselves feel like they're above others. It's happened multiple times in my experience. For example: A guy called me a loser because I like anime, I pointed out there are a bunch of celebrities who also like anime (Samuel Jackson, Quentin Tarantino, Robin Williams, multiple UFC fighters, etc.), and then asked him what he was in comparison if the people he called losers are more rich, famous and respected than he'd be in his whole life. Shut him up right there. Another example was when a girl who used to bully me approached me after several years (in person at a mall). She asked me in a taunting manner if I still played card games and wasting my money, I responded by asking if she was still sucking cock and offered her 100$ cash from my wallet and said it was pocket change. She was dumbfounded, jaw dropped, shut her up, and I walked away with my money and a nice pair of shoes (that I bought). Just a quick jab is all it takes. Not a full blown war. A fighter looks to end the confrontation quickly, not prolong it.
