    Thanks for the video. Why did you fold KKJT on the turn? You have up to 17 outs to the nuts if villain has 86 which he mostly has. And on top you get better odds because of more people calling potentially

      I put him on 86 and preferred to pick another spot although I know the odds support shoving there. If I’m getting the money in behind I prefer to do it on the flop where I have 2 cards to draw to.

    • @wynz7810
      @wynz7810 2 роки тому +7

      @@DonkFishPoker this is a huge punt to fold. You shouldn't be justifying folding by saying your "getting the money in behind" with 1 card to come. Putting villain squarely on 86 here, you have like 40% equity, let alone the scenarios (albeit few) where villain is shoving worse for value. PLO is not a game of picking another spot, it's a game of math and picking the most +EV spot, and this scenario is massively +EV to stack off

    The KKJT fold is 100% incorrect I was stunned when you folded. You are drawing to the stone nuts either way for your double gutter and the effective nuts with top full, and still one out for the stone nut four of a kind. That’s 100% a hand you have to felt because in the long run you print against any hand, not to mention it’s a complete disaster if you folded to a turned set of 9’s, an over played set of 7’s, lower set +T8, or even two pair open ended like K98T. You just have to call it off there.

      It’s not just KKxx though he’s got a double gutter to the nuts on either end and when you factor in random overplayed lower sets, or sets+gutter/open Enders, or a random two pair blast off you just have to call. You’re literally printing cash in that situation over the long run, even against the 86 nut straight you getting the correct pot odds to be +ev, you just have to get it in there

    Can you comment on why you only called pre with both KKJTss and KKQJss? I know you were oop in both hands but for me, those would still be automatic 3bets, especially in a loose agressive game. Maybe just a call if a super tight player raised. Also, that AAK4ss hand from UTG would've been a perfect spot to min raise :)

    • @DonkFishPoker
      @DonkFishPoker  2 роки тому +1

      I know just flatting isn’t the standard or GTO play but Texas plo games are crazy loose so while there is a point to be made to get more money in against inferior hands there is also a point of waiting until the flop where you can have more of an edge. Bloating the pots especially OOP will become troublesome in multi-way pots as you will often get outdrawn with all of these other players. I’d rather push larger edges not minuscule preflop ones.
      Great question, thanks for the feedback!

      @@DonkFishPoker Kinda knew that was the reasoning but decided to ask anyway :) It's ofc better to just call if you know the table is full of stations. I don't have much experience playing live PLO but I imagine that is pretty common in live games? Not that common in the games I play online but maybe I need to start doing more of that against some specific lineups as well. PLO is primarily a flop game after all. Thanks for the fast and thorough answer!

    • @DonkFishPoker
      @DonkFishPoker  2 роки тому +1

      @@kakerandelin it’s extremely common in live plo to have calling stations. You’re 100% correct, plo is a post flop game. The edges preflop are minimal at best whereas you can push huge advantages post flop.

    Heckuva good fold with JJ on that first hand in the VLOG (double board bomb pot).
    On the AA hand where you flopped AKK (no preflop raise), I actually think that slowplaying is not the way to do it. In hold em, that's a slow play for sure because a free card Q,J, or T could make someone a Broadway straight and get you action. In Omaha, a Queen, jack, or Ten on turn won't get you any action. IMO, the better play is to bet and hope that 1 guy (but not 2 guys) has a King. If two guys have a King and they both call and they are both reasonable players, they will smell out that someone has AA if there is betting on the turn
    If the flop was A22 and you had AA, there is a stronger case for slowplaying against a large field. Now, you are hoping that whatever comes off on the turn (say a 7) gives someone 7's full. 7's full is not a great hand on a AKK7 board but is a very good hand on a A722 board. The other problem with slowplaying on a AKK flop is that when you do come to life on the turn, it becomes more obvious that you have a monster. Just betting out on the flop (especially when there has been no preflop raise by you) may disguise your monster hand.
    Maybe I am not explaining my thoughts very well but the bottom line is that a slowplay is good only if the slowplay has a chance of giving someone a strong second best hand and that is unlikely on a AKK flop but more likely on a A22 flop.

    • @DonkFishPoker
      @DonkFishPoker  2 роки тому +2

      You explained it very well and I agree. Slowplaying in plo is generally not a great idea but I’m glad it worked out in this case. I think I was short enough that most players are going to begrudgingly call on the turn despite believing they are beat.
      Thanks for the feedback Sudhir, much appreciated man!

    J954 too much equity to fold. Combo draw on two boards is extremely strong. Unless he specifically has Q high flush but that would be a cooler.
    I would NOT slowplay AA on AKK. You do not block the king and therefore it is very likely you will get called. I would just exploitatively bet pot pot pot to get paid by trips that may fill up by the end. Easier to get paid that way than trying to check raise at some point. Folding top set and a double gutter to the nuts is a straight pot odds error. It was 365 to win 1k ish? Final pot would be roughly 1400 and your investment is 365. It for example he has nuts with no blockers, 8622 let’s pretend, you have 17 outs all are the nuts. Of the remaining 40 cards 23 are his and 17 are yours. Which gives you exactly 42.5% equity.
