For all of you funny bastards that gotta make fun of how he looks take a look at yourself when you get 50 years old and remember what you said way back when about one of the greatest and coolest mothers that ever sang for a rock band EVERYONE GETS OLD you funny guys .God bless Dave i love him no matter what he is now its what he was !!!!!!! The coolest mother fer ever
Dude said he ain't retiring yet! And he is still ALIVE..NOT DEAD!GOD BLESS DLR.A true diamond!
Im 53 and look 73...fuck!!!! Hahahahahah
Yes Yo Right @deppurple700 👍👍👍
I'm 51, look late 30s early 40s. I think Dave still looks great now. He's always maintained about 0% body fat, unlike the fat fucks half his age talking shit here.
Dave was 49 years old here. God bless him. When I was 12, I wanted to be Eddie with Dave on stage. Now that I am about the same age as David was here, I think how easy my job is compared to this. I can hear his manager “Go out there and have the vocal chords and energy you had in your twenties or die trying. You can still do a roundhouse kick over your head, right? You might not want to jump off the top of the Marshalls into a full split to open this show, just spin that pole thing and everyone will understand.
Dave has so much energy! Still got it!
This was just awesome! Dave is the ultimate frontman and the band just nailed it!
This was the time period where VH should of done the reunion !
This period of time was the worst in Eddie's life by far. It would have been horrible. Heck it was still pretty bad in 2007 since he wasn't fully sober yet then either.
I was at this concert...poured rain but was awesome! Last concert I went to with my late brother and DLR fan, Steve. RIP brother!
That's what I remembered, too. His bus was parked right near...I watched him walk up from the Hotel beside... awesome concert
Sorry about your brother
Sorry to hear about your brother bro , I bet he was awesome.
@@benallmark9671 , thank you. He certainly was!
Ray Luzier is incredible😱, i love his playing style😊👌🤘🤘🤘
Thank you for this! My dad took me because I was maybe 15 at the time. We were to far back from the stage that night. I remember this tall guy walking through the crowd spilling beer on people and cussing them. A way short muscular dude probably knocked him 10 feet in the air. Some of the biggest cheers were from that. I’ll always support Dave because this was a free show and everyone was getting soaked by the rain. He played such a long set that night. Still one of my favorite concerts of all time.
Free show???
Brian Young impressed me so much on guitar !!
This band is awesome. That’s how you demand an audience’s attention when first coming onstage.
LEGEND and the true definition of a rock star. In 1986 at newhaven connecticut I watched him climb 100 feet in the air to a boxing ring and sing Panama at the same time. Then ride a huge smoking surfboard in the air across the audience. Need I say more. Legends never die.
Dude...I was there too! I actually remember That! They tore that building down years ago. Good shows there...
Wow! Epic AF
Star man its 1988 not 1986
Holy crap he must have some serious injuries.....what an acrobatic chap!
@@watupjuju2866 all wrong...in 1986 Van Halen had Sammy as Lead singer
Chuck Norris has a David lee Roth poster in his house
Aslmx that’s awesome
David Lee Roth : vocals
Toshi Hiketa : rhythm guitar
Brian Young : lead guitar
James LoMenzo : bass
Ray Luzier : drums
And Rocking great without the Van Halen Blow Hards!
So, DLR got the rights to all the best VH songs?
@@richeyrich2203 everybody can play that songs live no need rights for that
james lomenzo..didn't he play with Zakk wylde on P&G?
Thanks 4 posting this!
David lee Roth = FUN
We all get old damn I just hit 50 but I freaking have always loved DLR he grabs life by the balls and rolls with all he’s got....if any of us partied that hard that long our voices would eventually be shot......who cares with DLR the show is only half the fun the parking lot was where you show up about Noon to start the party
Those high kicks ......kicked ass!😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Great set list. It's nice to see a healthy dose of solo tunes mixed in.
M Schaber i couldn’t agree more
I would have never predicted that I would hear Weather Report at a David Lee Roth concert. They played Birdland during the middle of You Really Got Me at 20:55.
What a set list!
Roth is a Legend !
One of the best performances I've seen from Dave. He's got all the lyrics. Voice sounds good. Stage moves are rocking. Great video! Thank you for sharing!
I love his persona and his voice, he is my hero! Love his sense of Youmer!
James LoMenzo,,,what a beast on bass....
Dave is my hero
He never had a great voice but he IS *THE* ROCK ENTERTAINER
support from 🇮🇹
David is so energic, that he didnt need ballads
Still got it! ♥️
This is Bad Ass! Roth is the Best Frontman ever! Great Band! 🔥😎✌️ Thank You
Dave is like a rockstar here sticking to the lyrics 🤣
Roth always has a great band and for once Roth himself actually sounds good.
Cuz he’s too old to jump around so he’s never out of breath. In the Van Halen days he was out of breath and he when he tried he sounded really good unfortunately half the time he did not try.
He sounded good all trough 70s and 80s
I don't care what the fuck people say. The greatest frontman ever. He gave it a 100% every fucking night. From 73 - 2018!!!
Uhhhh... no.
Dave looks like the professor from back to the future here...
@1967 Chevelle LM7 need to calm the fuck down man
Hahahahahahahah😂😂
That's what almost all the people that are watching this are thinking about though none of them dreamed they would connect Doc and Dave Lee Roth when they saw Michael J. Fox force his father in youth to hear Eruption, Eddie Van Halen's guitar solo in order to make him want to go out with his future mother.
Doc Brown..i presume!?
True 🚘🎥🎬😎👊
I saw the Portland, Oregon show. Dave had something to prove on this tour - that VH couldn't go on wo him ie they all needed to be back together in the same camp. It's that sum of all parts thing.
And he proved it quite well... I've even heard Van Halen is considering going back on tour w him... maybe even a new album. Rumor has it the first track will be called "Tatoo" or something like that.
Is this comment tongue in cheek? You made this a year ago.
Much better job by Dave than what we witnessed last year in Vegas right?! 👍👍
I was there, front row center at the barricade. this was a free concert as part of NASCAR speed street. it was literally in a street at the center of downtown. VH reunion was just a pipe dream at this time..
Cool!! I was there too. Yep, this was Speed Street. Rained that night. Now NASCAR surviving is a pipe dream. Go figure...
Same here. Absolute monsoon but was an excellent show!
Genial, gracias pir compartirlo, we love Dave, greetings from Mexico!
Ive seen DLR many times during his solo tours and Ive always had a blast. His band was always steller
James rockin' that Entwhistle-style bass! A tip of the hat, I'm sure!!!
Best frontman ever. Look how excited he is its awesome
U can’t be serious he can’t even sing I’m only here for the drummer very overrated
@@aaronnotte329 it’s called “getting older” and after having a shit ton of concerts in your life your voice gets a bit tired
realvoltxge Plus I think he sounds great here. Dave always made it clear: records were one thing, Live! is another. He’s not the guy who thinks buying a ticket should give someone the record played loud. Live is a 4D experience, more than just audio. These other people who go straight to the ‘Dave cant sing’ never mention the fact that this is the guy who wrote these lyrics & melodies, as well thats his voice on record. Sure every artist has vocal effects & eq in the studio mix, but being someone who has recorded a lot of music including vocals & harmonies, I dont hear anything on any DLR vocal tracks (with VH) that sounds artificial. He is not a Brittany Spears in the studio. Live, its very difficult to move this much & control ur breathing at any age, let alone 60+.
I appreciate u supporting DLR, in my opinion he not only invented the entire West Coast blond hair drum riser jumping front man, but he also was creative enough to mix some far out Al Jolson type jazz vocal style with hard rock. Extremely underrated due to his eccentric interview style & being able to laugh at himself.
Nope!
I was at this show! Charlotte speedstreet festival right? Loved it! You can tell there were some technical issues going on with Dave's microphone / monitors but he was a trooper and pulled through!
Yep! I was there too, poured rain but was awesome!
I like to have heard him backstage after that!
What year was this show fellas ?
That's a good sounding drum kit....OCDP!!🙌 🎉 🍺 🍺 🤘
I don t know about the snare ... some time it s ok and then it sounds like a bucket ...
Top concert❤❤❤❤❤
Whoa. Is that Dave trying to sing most of the lyrics? Kinda a rare thing to see. I'd brag to have seen this show.
I was there, in the monsoon and all! Was excellent!
Dave sounds great at this show. When he stays in key he sounds fine .
Bravo !
... and Dave is great ... playin with the musicians ... great show ... thnx for upload ...
Grande David lee Roth......lo máximo !!!
You mean Grandpa ...
Deserved a better sound and lighting. Ray Luzier is killer, singing and playing drums like that holy shit
So glad he's in Korn. An absolute beast on the kit!!
This is a yearly outdoor yearly event in Charlotte NC called Speed Street which is why the so so sound.
I seen Dave on this tour
The drummer was very good but, the whole band played very good together. When I seen Dave in 2003 he played So This Is Love. I guess he dropped it out of the set list. And he only charged $10 American Dollars to see him in concert Orlando March Mardi gras.
what a ringleader.....still has the energy from Gazzari's
wow how beatiful it is i like your music
DLR sounds great here
Damn - I saw ray luzier back then - I was blown away. What. Fun concert that was.
How great is this? DLR is really into it here, band is great, varied set list ....
This msn is do happy when he on stage. It’s electric. He is one of the top 5 front men of all time. Not an easy job . Diamond DAVE📀📀📀📀📀📀📀📀📀📀.
DON'T DIE DAVE ,DAVID DON'T DIE !!!
Love that ray luzier played drums for Dave before KORN haha
Love it too! Especially the intro to hot for teacher! I have mostly him to thank for how far I came as a drummer!
Ray Luzier ❤️❤️🔥🤘🤘🤘🤘
Dave has a 5 - Octave Vocal Range that he can Rip Through At Will, He Ain't Scared, Impeccable Timing and Never At A Loss For Hype be it Action or Words! You can't beat that combination no matter how hard you try! Dave Rock's!!!
Wow. No. Delusional. Springsteen is my favorite artist but I still wouldn't lie and say that he has a 5 octive range when he doesnt. And neither does roth. He has about 3 good singing octives, the other 2 are just shouting
Your delusional......🍁leif
He didn't say the 5 Octaves were good?
@@rushpittsburgh4 Well he sure shouts good..lol...love DLR
He has like hell. He has maybe 2.5 Useable octaves.
Diamond 💎 Dave
Greatest front man ever!
David Lee Roth was born on October 10th, 1954.
I love you David forever! You are Spectacular!!🎶🎶👏👏👏🌟🌟🌟👑💎❤❤❤💋
Very impressive band.
His voice is TORE up.
wow how beatiful it is i like your music maura
Love this! Keep well and thriving Dave! Much love from Carol from Western Australia. X
Dave recently said he is not gonna retire yet! I don't think he should. He is only in his 60's.he should be like The Rollingstones or Aerosmith....if the wheel hasn't fallen off...why not keep going? Lol
Great video. High energy Diamond Dave at his best. So glad I saw him around this time with this band. They were tight.
Wow!Wow!Wow! Cheers for the great vid.Subbed just for this!Nice!
I am so amazed that the current Drummer from Korn played for DLR.
Wow, thats a beautiful guitar, inspiring.
Dave sounded great, just like the reunion tour. Keep the high notes to the rest of the band.
Ray luzier shreddin it
I was at this show...on the front row. Windy and raining. The mayor of Charlotte was standing on the other side of the barricade drinking beer and jamming out.
I was here and talked to Dave right before he jumped on the stage...
Gracias Dave!!!
Still pulls it off- Performer !
Olha a performance desse homem mesmo hoje?? Isso é artista de verdade!!! David Lee Roth soube explorar bem esse lado acrobático dele ,com o talento de cantar é sem dúvidas um dos melhores artistas das últimas décadas.
Senior Year in HS. I remember this well
My buddy Brian on guitar!
brain's the man
Sounds great ...great band ... fun to watch
I have never been to David's concert, because I was born in the USSR, but I respect good rock, van Halen's success is 50 percent due to David. Georgia Tbilisi
thx for upload champ 👍
II love your energy, David!!!!!
Unreal. They are dynamite
I want to see him live ... please come to PA
Dave is kool
Wow, Weird Al Y. doing a great job on the guitar!!
I think Weird Al would probably do a better job than this guy....lol.
Rob Luiten I thought the same thing...lol!
It"s good.but whomever filmed this.great job!
Besides the obvious sound issues, this concert rocks. I'm impressed.
This was really great. This concert proves that Dave doesn't really need Van Halen. And it's great that he's doing a lot of his solo stuff.
I agree it's great Roth does solo. But let's try to remember your comment is 2 months old now and the uploaded video is 17 years old Brother. OK??
@@Rubin4749 ok, I know that, but what's your point ?
@@minkahed6724 I think most people got my point, I'm not going to "spell it out" for the slow ones in the crowd.
@@Rubin4749 oh ok ...
@@minkahed6724 roth sucks is the point
Diamond Dave did not lack charisma that's for sure.
charasma!
Best front man ever.
all right David \m/
Loved this ,up close vid.
Wonder he wasn't horse as hell with no volume the whole time, but he's a trooper, and Mean Street and Somebody get me Doctor, rocked old school. The first 4 albums were my youth so Dave is Van Halen, one of kind for sure
He was a "horse"? Explains the voice.
DLR looks like he's going to piss himself out of sheer excitement.
I love you Dave.
My hero!
This was from race weekend at charlotte I was there it was a good show
Ray Luzier is just a fucking beast on the drums.
I stood right down front at this show.... his hair was so fried.
David Lee Roth looks like he could be in Back to the Future
POF 415 lol
Lol.
Instead of "Maaahrty!" it's "Eddiiiie! WE need 5.150 gigawatts in order to get us BACK to 1984 and have a level headed conversation like two adults and sort out our priorities both personal and band goals and prevent my departure from the band and created the timeline where I never left the band, and the NEXT album we would have made in 1986 and beyond would all go straight to #1 and held for weeks or months as the years went on! But Eddiiiie! If we don't reach our hands between our legs and ease the seat back we can't see the road from all the heat coming off it when we get our own balls out of eachother's way we can change the past and create a brilliant future where we all got along and became the biggest American rock n roll band legacy for all time, instead of the splintered unfortunate way things played out by say around 1985-2019!" -And Scene!-
Anyone else notice that DLR for got the lyrics to "California Girls" so the sound tech lowered his mic until he remembered them and got back on que
I love his voys and hes tights..😘🤘❤️
and the cradle will rock !
