Now that is real friggin awesome. Hopefully you're compensated for all your hard work on this module. Although getting to fly in any fighter jet would be compensation enough for me.
Does the F model have a better engine? Every time I've seen an F-100 take off they are always so slow to accelerate, but this one shot off like a rocket.
I did not fly in the jet, just our GoPro. The F model shares the same engine as the D model with the exception of the burner can that was borrowed from the F-102..
Love to see old warbirds still doing it. 30:22 you know the 100 is smokey, but you can see the smoke's shadow on the runway!!!! Love it!
I have always known that slats on those birds freely moved but I guess I always figured they only did so during higher-aspect and higher-G maneuvering. Watching those things move in and out in and out the whole time was really un-nerving to witness! I get it now, and have always understood their purpose just it always seemed it took a lot more to move them. Get outa here with that! LOL Also it was neat to see just how much the Hun "waddled" in the air. I can totally see where the sabre-dance could originate! Cool video. Thanks for posting it!
Fantastic that you were able work with not only the real aircraft, but also one in flying condition. Huge bonus for the virtual module we'll see in DCS!
Thank you.
How cool. Thanks for bringing us along.
Hah! You can tell when Dean gives the guy in back the controls - that little boosted aileron wing waggle begins. Dampened out as the pilot brain lessens the control gains and the smash increases. Great fun and all hail Dean Cutshall, a really generous guy.
New subscriber here because of this series.
I've seen Dean's 100 at thunder over Mich a few times and last year I heard it roar over my town of defiance Ohio.
By the time I got outside and found it on flight radar 24, it was gone.
It's such a beautiful bird
Uff¡¡ awesome good work gents
Brake chute and brake canopy! Lol
Dude I’m jealous, this is cool
Why such lateral oscillations??
I was wondering the same.
@@jamesfranks545 seems more than normal
F-100 “dance”
@@Porsche4life indeed. Incidentally in air shows alouttee III propourted a snout frontend and was used to replicate an elephant dance. While the fighters did their tricks this pseudo elephant danced around the visitors. Just remembered it seeing the f100 flying
My father was a Hun pilot in the late 50s. Would be cool to have more camera angles.
Can't wait until we can virtually fly & fight in this thing. With VR. Gonna be awesome.
The F 100 with MESSERSCHMITT-Slats.
Looks like there’s a canopy seal gap on the lower left side where the stationary and front pivot canopy meet. Appears to be an eighth inch gap. Starts at about 3-5 inches above the rail and extends for about the same.
Great stuff, need more camera views.
For sure!
Does this jet have working ejection seats?
Yes.
@@grinnellidesigns Do you use the OEM for maintenance ? It's a relief to know that you have the seat.
Too bad Dean “Cutter” Cutshall decided to stop flying this amazing aircraft. Last flight was in December 30th.
A jet that takes a real pilot. Not just a bunch of computers.
Love the jet, but a single fixed camera pointing out to the side? Ya'll could have done better.
Who choose the camera angle? What a waste of an awesome opportunity.
Calm down. It gives us the widest angle vs all cockpit. There’s other videos out there on there page
Maybe they didn't have control over it and was just lucky their camera was included at all?
Awful lot of roll movement (lateral oscillation)... much more than normal, especially on landing and that takeoff was pretty bad. The F100 is a very unstable and dangerous aircraft to fly and it require constant focus. Sorry, unless there is something amiss I'd never fly in that aircraft with that pilot. Also... pretty stupid place to position a camera.
What are you complaining about. It’s not the pilots fault the f-100 does that. It show it flies unfortunately
What a terrible video. The worst view.next time have someone that knows what they are doing place the camera or cameras in better positions.
Contrary to what it seems, you can’t just stick a GoPro on a fighter jet. Safety of flight trumps camera angles. For Top Gun Maverick they had to literally build the cameras into the Navy jets for safety. Lotsa $$$
Terrible camera placement.
