IMO the best amp Mesa builds. Very open and crunchy. No lower mid mud. Great amp! The Reborn also has the awesome clean channel and Pushed mode for more vintage rock sounds.
I've had the 2x12 Roadster combo since 08 and i'm really leaning towards one of these. Love the 4 channels but i'm feeling like there is something missing. Especially once you hear this or a Mark v demo.
I can now say, a year later, I finally have my own multi-watt Dual Rectifier! Thanks in part to this awesome vid selling me on it. Just dialed in these settings!
Glad to see the latest version of the Recto is the best one. So many products these days get worse with every new version. I've never been interested in Rectos before but now... wow.
Of course like a lot of folks I’ve searched and listened on UA-cam for all sorts of amps. Like all of them. Revv, Bogner, Marshall, and many many to name. But I’ll tell you what dude, this one sounds so good and versatile. It can really cover so many styles. Your playing is great as well of course. I have reconsidered getting a Friedman now that I’ve heard this clip again.
Sounds awesome. I used to have a Tripe Rec from 2004 and I fully agree that Ch 2 was excellent as well. I can't get over that clean sound here also, that sounds lovely.
that little ringing you hear when he stops playing is from the strings above the nut. high gain tones sometimes run into that problem and you can deal with it when recording by using a bit of electrical tape or something laid across the strings to mute them
Well, THAT settles it...if you had this amp and a C+, you actually would have pretty much EVERYTHING covered tone-wise unless you just HAD to be an absolute purist and own the original amps. No offense to other amp lovers, and I know I’m somewhat biased, but this proves just how damn good Mesa stuff is. Shows how great Blake’s ear and playing is, too! As always, nice job Bro!🤘🏻
Love the sounds! If you go on 'spongy' mode with Modern setting and gain rolled back a bit, you can nail the EVH brown sound with ease. I was surprised this amp is capable of so much. Also, I find the lead tones are killer on Vintage mode. Not as tight and snappy as a Mark amp, but still liquid with tons of sustain and depth.
I’m still to this day constantly impressed with the versatility of a rectifier. There are so many little options to tweak to get exactly what you’re looking for in the moment/day to day
Looks like the loop was bypassed. If so that will be a major reason why this demo sounds better than most. Bypassing the loop really brings out the definition in the mids and reduces the fizz. It also helps that the volume was turned up a decent amount.
My Les Paul has that same exact high pitched annoying ringing sound you can hear in between riffs...you can definitely hear it in the first riff you played. A little duct tape on the strings above the nut makes it go away. Other than that, this sounds fantastic...This is really a prime example of what a Dual Rectifier can sound like. Nicely done!
Dude 80s riffs sounds great through rectos. I wish people would play more stuff like van halen or white snake through them but don't get me wrong it still sounds great with 90s nu metal
I’m sold I’m going to order one I’ve got a Marshall jcm900 dual reverb and it doesn’t come close to this I love that sound Awesome video hope to see more TOOL stuff
Nice tones and playing that Mesa DR MW sounds awesome! A lot of the tone is in those hands of yours Blake , have you tried any of the Suhr amps (Badger , Hedge, or PT100) your C+ and Bogner GF still sounded a bit better than this but not much ! thanks for the inspiration and keep them coming Cheers!
Man you make this sound smooth and pleasant. What mic(s) did you use for recording? I’m think i will remove silver jubilee from my setup and start using my vh2 with the dual. Was gonna swap the recto to vh2 to be used with my marshall, but 2nd channel on the dual is just so fine. Dual and vh2 is pretty solid setup for smaller gigs. Rock on.
This video is great! I love all the riffs you play and the amp sounds amazing. Would you say that the new multi watt dual recto they are making these days is closest to the old 2 channel rev F? Also, have you ever played the Badlander and compared it with this? To me it seems the Badlander sounds sort of like a cross between the dual recto and mark series. Your videos are really the best for amp tones!
Buenos días, ¿Cuál es el setting del Maxon? Y de la perilla o potenciometro de Gain del canal (chanel 3)? Hello, What is the setting of the Maxon? What about the channel Gain knob or potentiometer (chanel 3)?
@@blakemansfield2356 I thought about going EL34ls from JJ. I tend to gravitate for toward el34 tones. Maybe it will give me that flavor I'm looking for!
This should have million more views ! Awesome tones, FINALLY someone who knows how to eq a Recto. Fire job dude !
Agreed. The best sounding demo of recto I've heard!
Thank you, Right? None of this over. scooped fizzy shit.
Finally full bodied recto sound
This may honestly be the best dual rec demo I've seen yet, and I've seen a metric ton on YT.
Mesa should put this on their site and pay royalties for your time and effort. Great, great job sir!
The So Real part gave me goosebumps. What a pristine clean tone, almost acoustic.
Today i bought my first Mesa Dual Rectifier Multi Watt, because of this demo lol!.
Same here:)
5:22 that open D chord sounds so glorious.
IMO the best amp Mesa builds. Very open and crunchy. No lower mid mud. Great amp! The Reborn also has the awesome clean channel and Pushed mode for more vintage rock sounds.
This MW version is the definitive Rectifier. I'm in love with mine.
I've had the 2x12 Roadster combo since 08 and i'm really leaning towards one of these. Love the 4 channels but i'm feeling like there is something missing. Especially once you hear this or a Mark v demo.
What years was multi watt in production
@@techdeathhippie6319 Since 2010
ME TOO!
This is by far the best video ever made on this amp. Great Job!!!!
I can now say, a year later, I finally have my own multi-watt Dual Rectifier! Thanks in part to this awesome vid selling me on it. Just dialed in these settings!
same man.. just waiting for the head to ship in, this video has a lot to do with it
I have no desire to buy a rectifier or some of the other amps you demo, but I listen all the way through for the awesome riffs and excellent playing.
Wow. Just when I thought I didnt want a recto anymore
Dude you really do probably get the best tones on you tube . You definitely know you’re signal chain inside out to make them this good . Impressive
Fantastic!
Just picked one of these up yesterday. I am simply blown away with it.
Glad to see the latest version of the Recto is the best one.
So many products these days get worse with every new version.
I've never been interested in Rectos before but now... wow.
Gotta say the way you dailed the amp is sounding amazing. Good Job.
Own a 2011 Dual MW and love it. But now I want an LP with custombuckers! What a stunning array of tones, good sir! Cheers & thank you.
Great tones! one of the best tests on youtube for sure!

Great examples and very good choice of songs.
It was time to find a demo of the Multiwatt that was different,Viva the Grunge!!!!!
Sounds awesome. I used to have a Tripe Rec from 2004 and I fully agree that Ch 2 was excellent as well. I can't get over that clean sound here also, that sounds lovely.
This video is outstanding. The Multi-Watt dual rec is one of the best, most flexible, amps on the market.
This is the best demo on UA-cam I've seen of this amp. Well done sir!
Wow such a nice demo. Best demo of dual rec I have seen/heard too! Thanks a lot
This is an amazing demo.
Thank you for taking the time and making this!
Fantastic playing and the DR rocks!
This video is what sold me on this amp! Great job, & nice playing.
Great Selection of Riffs here 🤘
that little ringing you hear when he stops playing is from the strings above the nut. high gain tones sometimes run into that problem and you can deal with it when recording by using a bit of electrical tape or something laid across the strings to mute them
Those were the best recto tones I've ever heard
Love the fact you didn't put 10 different boosts on it as most do. Actually, demo'd the amp as it is.

Agreed 100%
Hands down best demo of this amp. Perfect amount of bass dialed in, too many demos of this amp sound so flubby and are over-saturated.
Love that you threw So Real in there…into Them Bones lol
Great choice of tracks.
Well this captured the sound of the amp! Great job!
Sounds incredible
I heard they fixed the fuzziness dual recs are notorious for with the multi watt. Definitely sounds like it from this video. This sounds killer!
Wow I really want a Recto now. Sounds so good here.

LOVE THIS AMP SO MUCH

It's like John Petrucci's Clean !
Great video!! I wish I had seen this 4 yers ago. I'm blown away. I'm getting one......Now!! Ha.

Could you do more demos with this amp?
Excellent video. Congrats!!!
I think this demo just cost me a chunk of cash 💰 🤤
Great video/demo!
Alice in Chains mentioned, raahhhhh!!! 🤘😤🤘🔥🔥🔥

Thank you.
4:45 Is this with overdrive pedal?
Yes
Did you mess with the spongy/bold or tube/diode switches throughout or were they all set to one setting?
thems some good sounds
Sounds great man! I recently installed Eurotubes in my recto and it made all the difference. What type are in yours?
I think I need one
Can you make a video with different types of rock tones?
Buenos días,
¿Cuál es el setting del Maxon? Y de la perilla o potenciometro de Gain del canal (chanel 3)?
Hello,
What is the setting of the Maxon? What about the channel Gain knob or potentiometer (chanel 3)?
whatever i do its muddy as hell for my fractal audio proccessor. How is metallica using it without a booster....
Do you prefer the MW Rectifier or the Bogner Ecstasy 3534?
What tubes do you recommend on this one? Just bought same model!
Do you think this amp would be manageable for basement playing with the UA Ox attenuator?
Sounds killer! which mic did you use?
Nevermind, just saw that u used a Suhr RL :)
reactive load is going to helix native loaded with Ownhammer bogner V30 legacy (mix 1)
What mic are you using here? And placement? Great demo by the way.
reactive load is going to helix native loaded with Ownhammer bogner V30 legacy (mix 1)
Oh STOP IT! Now I have to buy one!
6L6 or EL34 powered? Thanks for the awesome riffage!.
it accepts both tubes but comes with 6L6 stock
This is with 6L6’s. I actually sold him this amp, regretted it and bought another.
What riff were you playing at 07:26?
DannyLlerenaTV Sister Rosetta Stoned Tool 10,000 days album.
What settings did u use for channel 2 foo fighters
how does this compare to the roadster?
So….what are all these settings friend? :)
The rectifier is nice but I think I’d rather buy a diezel vh4 and Marshall jcm800 and pair those together
nice, have the same amp
Blake... What's your audio interface?
reactive load is going to helix native loaded with Ownhammer bogner V30 legacy (mix 1)
what means 808?
What power tubes are you running here
6L6
Is that what you prefer in the multiwatt?
@@Lennoxvrgt I like EL34s too. 6L6 is more classic recto. Hard to say
@@blakemansfield2356 I thought about going EL34ls from JJ. I tend to gravitate for toward el34 tones. Maybe it will give me that flavor I'm looking for!
What Revision is this most closely voiced after?
Rev F I think. I saw a comparison video of a Rev F and a Multi Watt and they sounded pretty much identical.
