At about the 2:40 second mark right after you fire it back up there’s a spark to the front of the engine if you look closely!

Can you please also post the easy way to access the fuel filter? :D I appreciate the video - saved me time. The new fuel filter fix my stalling out issue. Thank you!

I ended up accessing the fuel filter from the top. There are 2 bolt to remove that connect to the frame on either side is the radiator - on the rider/back side of the radiator. Then I removed the bracket that holds the metal radiator cap. Then I removed the yellow cap (brake fluid I think). With that done you can access a single screw which is the fuel filter bracket. Then you have direct access to the filter and the clips on either side. I tried coming in from the side/bottom and I don't know how you pulled off releasing the lock clips (hat tip to you). I just wanted to share since I think coming in from the top might be easier.

Hey, to note the thing that fixed this ultimately ended up being the exhaust wrap and heat shielding. The exhaust was getting so hot that it was vapor locking the fuel in the fuel rail. Buy some aluminum heat tape and some Kevlar exhaust wrap and you’ll be good to go!

@@Localhost127 what part specifically needs to be taped /shielded? Is it where the pipe starts at the engine head? Or should I just tape the fuel line? I appreciate and details you can provide. My 07 x2 500 efi definitely needed the fuel filter but now it back fires and still cuts out when I get on it. I was going to replace the fuel injector next but want to try the heat shield first.

I'm working on the exact same atv. How do you get the quick disconnects loose from the filter????

It’s somewhat difficult but there’s little white collars that you have to push away from the line. I had to use the end of a set of needle nose to push them.

You got to have a push clip from hardware store .

When you hook up the pressure tester to the fuel rail, are you supposed to remove the shrader valve inside? The screw on tester hose has a shrader and the fuel rail has a shrader valve. Seems like they would conflict with each other not allowing fuel to pass. My Gauge won't budge. Again should the valve on the rail side be taken out before hooking up the tester hose?

When you screw the fuel pressure tester into the fuel rail, it depresses the shrader core allowing fuel to flow, And when you unscrew it, the shrader core goes back to its place. There is a small amount of fuel that will drip in this process.

@@Localhost127 Thanks Mike for responding. I thought that was the case, but when I got absolutely ZERO pressure I began to wonder about the shrader Valve. I have pulled my fuel pump out of the tank and am going to order a replacement kit. The filter seemed to flow fine so my guess is the pump went totally bad. Thanks again

You absolutely didn't show anything on how to remove it ....what a joke. 😊

if you need assistance figuring out how to pull it out of the clasp with your hands, i suggest you have someone else work on the machine. It literally can be pulled out of its clasp with one hand.
