Wow!! I have been hearing great things with the matryx chassis and the ride ability of the machine. Not to mention the look. Great job on the review 👍👍.
now we have enough snow for trails to open so get to try my 650 vr1 on the trails, only 50 -60 miles on it from riding around farm, so far i'm impressed. just like 2 years ago when i bought 019 850 xc 129 thought that was best sled then we got snow drove on trails loved it
Jeff I've been reading on forums about the power valve needing to adjusted electronically also the jack shaft bearing getting warn needing replacing after 1500 miles
Sharp looking sled, I love my 18 Renegade XRS, 70% don't have the suspension set up on them correctly.I thought mine was set up great until I went to Accelerated Technologies and had them school me and do the set up. I really think Ski Doo dropped the ball on the gauge cluster, not sure how they are so amazing at some things and totally pooched the gauge. Polaris seems to have got that figured out.
I just put 90 miles on my brand new 650 Indy Xc matryx launch edition yesterday and after riding a 20’ skidoo 600r xrs, the 650 Polaris blows that 600r out of the water.
@@jeremyd1005 Great to hear. I have a few specific questions if you're open to sharing more about your experience. How would you compare the engine between the 600r and 650? I have a 600 etec now and have gotten used to how clean and smoothly the engine runs (and fantastic fuel and oil consumption). Also any comments on build quality/fit and finish? I've ridden an Axys before and thought the handling was fantastic but the build quality was underwhelming vs skidoo.
@@charles.alvino the 650 is very linear and strong feeling from the bottom end to the top end, super smooth and very low vibration. No ski tips or handle bars rattling. Fit and finish is far better than axys chassis and almost on par with skidoo. Oil and fuel consumption is yet to be seen need a couple more hundred miles to really find out (I don’t think any manufacturer will ever come close to Etec technology) . My personal opinion is that the seating and riding ergonomics make the sled worth it. If you have the chance to go and sit on one definetly do it.
@@charles.alvino not a problem, Or if you can wait till 2022’s come out I’m sure skidoo will have a new chassis and probably a 650 also. About every 5 years they have a new chassis
Great video guys my hands do the same from working with them for 35 years there shot so looking forward to this sled next year . This year I’m healing from a hernia starting feb 9th . So season is gone for me .
Great video Lenn. I drive a Polaris 18 Assault and will be purchasing a new sled next year, I'm eyeing that new Matryx Assault but I'm also thinking maybe the Skidoo 900T.
Thanks Robert. Both my brothers tried the 900t. They just sold them and went back to Two Strokes. Too much extra weight and the sled is very top-heavy. Save yourself the expense and stay with a two-stroke snowmobile
@@oldslow3694 I've 300 miles on the sled, mixed trails and lakes, not much deep snow to ride. The handling is excellent, it rides well, after break-in it runs pretty cool, dependent on conditions of course. After adjusting the front clickers, the ride is quite comfortable on stutter bumps and frozen slush on the lakes. Fuel economy is already around 16 mpg, and that was on a segment that had top speed up to 96 mph. The SmartWarmers come up to desired temp, almost instantly. The 7SDD GPS is working nicely, pretty easy to read while moving, and easy to control thru the Left Hand Control for zooming in/out, and showing the instrument gauges.
I was thinking of adding the hand guards to my matryx assault Polaris says they are not comparable with the mid height windshield. Do you find much interference with them?
For sure! You definitely can lift the skis although yes, a shorter track is more playful but the longer track is still stable in the corners and great for racing.
I know the seat and gas tank area allows you to easily lean more on turns. I hear the sled stays flat in turns. Is that because you can lean more or does it stay level on better than an Axys when your body position is centered? What is different in the chassis or suspension to keep the sled level on turns? Thanks
It handles better because of the sitting position in the ability to move around more easily. There are slight changes to the front spindles geometry that also helps. Also recalibrated spring rates and shock valving adds to the mix.
@@BrookeJohnson3j hello! I saw videos last year of you riding and giving comments I believe. Thanks for the answer, that’s the most precise information I’ve gotten on this specific topic. There’s a lot big talking individuals and experts that should be embarrassed, you just clowned a lot of people 🤡. Do you know of any future plans for a rack and saddle bags on the Indy sleds like the Axys touring package? I have to have that for my camping equipment, it’s very important to me. Thanks for the info any more would be nice, especially if you can let them know there’s riders that need this. 😊
@@BrookeJohnson3j do you mean the bags on Axys will come out on the Matryx soon? There are no touring options on the Polaris website for Indy Matryx. Thanks so much for your time 😊
They need wider running boards I cannot believe nobody mentions this,I had to add rox 5 inch cleats with spacers to level the running boards I can't imagine any boot over a size 9 fitting on these running boards without your feet being bent by the outside support...
My dad has size 11.5 boots and he dods not have any issues with his feet fitting in there. I have size 10.5 women’s and 9.5 men’s and it fits nicely with my big Klim boots. Where did you have the problem mostly?
It's the width,I'm not the only one who talked about this even Gary on mudbratz said he couldn't fit his feet in the running boards he had his boots up on the side rail 🤔
I just picked up my new vr1 850 . All of the body panels are defective , hand warmers not working and one of my front skies is damaged from dealer . I buy a new XRS ever other year . So far total dissatisfied with the machine . Not Impressed with fit in finish . At all . I’ve never had any of these issues with skidoo .
Gonna be a hard sled on the knees, id put pads where your knees hit. They look more rider forward than the Axis. More like the Gen4 Doo riding position

I have the Indy 650 XC Launch edition. Very pleased so far with the ride and handling, especially the power that the 650 makes ..... Very impressive!
Yeah i heard them 6t0s are pushing like 130 HP pretty i pressive
Nice job! Good to see a home based snowmobile video. This Machine is MUCH nicer than my 76 whip!!
Awesome reviews Lenn. Keep those sled vids comming

They do hit a little at a full turn but they’re flexible and it doesn’t bother him that much.
Does the 137 still have that playful feel? Like the 129, as far as lifting the skis when you want?

Did you add extra rivets to your skid plate because I just got mine in today and haven't put it on yet it only came with 3 self tapers.
Yes, I added snow flap rivets. I didn't like the fitment so I modified it a bit. I think I might have OCD....lol
