    that was really interesting... when i saw the statue of the dog... I had to stop and get the dog's name and get the info and read her story ... very touching.... I'm a dog lover for sure. Thank for the video. Stay safe & have a good week, from South Dakota.

      Lived in Juneau from September 1982 to September 2003. My daughter and 2 grand daughters live in Juneau think about going back sometimes but don't have the money to last time I was in Alaska was 2006 up in eagle river and anchorage. Think and wish I could go back to commercial fishing. I see the southeast tennis shoes got a problem with them that most people up there couldn't figure out lol size 15 high and wide shoes. A lot of people can't figure out big feet and legs that have bad circulation from getting burned when I was a kid. Valley medical up there said supposed to lay down 23 hours a day to keep legs from swelling but can't stand to lay down that much. I hope everything goes well up there

      @earthalydelights 3 роки тому

      @@Rick_Sanchez_C137_ I've always thought that must be a really difficult thing to deal with about Las Vegas but at least you get a variety of different sorts of tourists. I've lived in two cities where cruise ships pull in all summer. Sydney, Australia and Venice - the one in Italy not the one in California. Cruise ship passengers are truly awful people is what those experiences taught me.

    We returned to the lower 48 in 1974. The cruise ships were small and there weren't many of them. Downtown was a handful of locally owned gift shops. And where did the Mendenhall go? It's tiny!

      Most of the cruise ship visitors arrive a few boats at a time, and stay either on one block of gift shops or head out on buses. Juneau is larger than Rhode Island so there's plenty of open free space even during peak season. So long as you have a rental car and a map you'll do great.

I will say this, I’ve lived all over the world and I’ve never been board of a place. There is alway some place that I had never visited or a trail I had hadn’t hiked. Maybe try something out of the ordinary for you. Hopefully this isn’t coming off negative. I mean it in a positive way. If we don’t try new things we stay stagnant.
      Wish you the very best and if this place is really eating at you go someplace new that will give you a breath of fresh air.

    Great video, but I'm not a big fan of chipmunk music.

      Me too David Conner. It’s hard to find copy right free songs that are any good. I found some folk music I’ve used I’m the last few videos.
      Thanks for watching.
      Have a good week.

    As a man who's lived in Juneau for years, I must say that this revolting soundtrack is not a good representation of the city.

      This is the kind of music that is free to use. Now I have a $15 a month subscription to use quality music. You can support us on Patreon and help keep crappy music out of our videos.
      It’s just like socialized healthcare, free ain’t good and good and cheap.

      @@daveandrade8189 thanks, it is upbeat. Unfortunately Joe did not support the channel for better music. He just wanted to complain about free entertainment. 👍

      Noah AL seems like this is all you can get in copyright free music. Good luck on your search for non synthesized music.

      Thanks for watching. You can buy a monthly subscription that has better music but I don't make any money from this so I just use what I can. I know your frustration, cuz I have it too.
      Thanks again, Brian

    Why do so many people put this shit-baby-beat-music to all their videos????

    • @AnAlaskaHomestead
      @AnAlaskaHomestead  5 років тому

      Chris, because it’s free. I few months ago I started laying $15 a month for better music. For a small UA-cam channel that doesn’t make any money why would they pay out of their pockets for music and get nothing in return. I get about 20k views a month and make around $50. I don’t mind paying the $15. I’m using my money from youtube for youtube. You see guys, like me now, that set up patreon accounts and then catch flack for being money hungry sell outs. I have about $2k in cameras, drone, editing software and my reward is $50.
      Long answer for because it’s free but there you have it.
      Here is a video with some $15 music.
      Let me know if you like it better. I like to use folk style music now instead of the shit-baby-beat👍
