    If you use a little contact cement on the wheel and tires it will help keep the tire from rotating on the wheel during landing and tearing the valve stem. Of course you only want to do that with the permanent tires.

    It would be good to put a thin coat of grease or rust preservative on bare metal parts like the axles.

      @ColbyOsborn  3 роки тому +1

      Would general purpose grease or wheel bearing grease be what you’d use, or is there a specific grease you’d recommend? Thanks for the advice!

      @@ColbyOsborn I generally use what is convenient if corrosion protection is the main objective. If long term protection is required, then something like Cor-Ban 27L is a good choice.

      Got it. Thanks!

    From my industrial automation background, I didn't like the way you routed the flex hose at the top of the landing gear struts. That stuff doesn't like to twist. It will torque the fitting on the strut side, so be careful to check those often.

      Thanks Eric! Greatly appreciate the heads up.

      Any other suggestion on how to go about dealing with the movement of the gear legs? I can't think of another way to deal with it other than what Colby did.

      @Ko3n3k33 instead of that 90 degree bulkhead fitting, use a straight bulkhead fitting so the motion bends the line instead of twisting it. Admittedly this may require a different mounting location and is more difficult to keep out of the airflow, but it would be much more durable. An easier alternative is a little more slack and a clamp retrict the motion to the inboard end of the line.

    The videos must be sequentially from the beginning of assembling to the finishing so that the audience can know the results of the completion

    • @ColbyOsborn
      @ColbyOsborn  3 роки тому

      Boas, the videos are being released sequentially. Unfortunately UA-cam doesn’t always recommend them in order. The only way I know of to make sure you view them in order is to go to my UA-cam videos page and watch them in order there.

    Do you think you will need to put a spacer plate on your brake caliper the way Rob had rondo after his brake fire?

    • @ColbyOsborn
      @ColbyOsborn  3 роки тому +1

      I think Rob determined his parking brake valve was the cause of the issue, so I don’t think I’ll need the spacer. Appreciate the heads up.

    • @johnbergt7
      @johnbergt7 3 роки тому +1

      @@ColbyOsborn if i recall correctly, that was the first thought, but he ultimately figured out that the caliper was too close, so he put the spacer in. It's not in the video that talks about the original issue, but in the follow up.
