Great video! Just changed these exact same parts, mine were corroded, but it did not fix my issue, also changed the map sensor, fuel pump , filter and sender, the car idles fine but fails to rev up, im going after egr and fuel regulator next
Hi Anthony, I have a detailed video on my channel for the fuel regulator and EGR valve. I show in detail how to remove, replace and clean them. Thanks for watching!
I sold it but in the process of a getting a much nicer one as I type this. I will do videos for all of that coming soon. Thank you SO much for watching.
Great video. Having some issues with mine. 305tpi 5speed. Has a random sputtering and shaking going on in idle and during coasting with light throttle especially around 2000 rpm. If I stab the gas it's good. Distributor is swapped. Plugs and wires are AC delcos (ac delco r43ts) New coil (standard motor part-brand). Timing is 6* btdc. Done the minimum idle air, Iac and tps adjustment (those are also new standard motor parts). It started happening after my local workshop swapped the dizzy when I was at work at sea. They dont know what's going on and I've been effed with this for 2 years. Parts cannon has been fired lol
@@kmas8229 , the reason I asked is because I had similar symptoms and my problem was a weak fuel pump. I changed it and it was fine (video is on my channel). Thanks,
@@TerenceDIY Oh damn. It could be the culprit indeed. I'll give it a test when I get home this weekend and see what's what. Starting to suspect the EGR valve a bit too. Sorry if I came in a bit harsh on my previous comment. Appreciating the help, friend.
Hey bro, love the content, been having an issue with my 91 z28…. I had it parked for a few months, I went to go start it and it turned over I put it in gear and it shut off, now it cranks but doesn’t turn over….. the coil, distributer, cap and plugs have all been replaced…. I can hear the fuel pump working…. I’m at a stand still now, if you got any suggestions I would really appreciate it
Question might be dumb but please help me out. So because you have an msd distributor that means it’s and HEI one correct? So that’s why you had to upgrade the ignition module to a high performance one correct? I see on rock auto they have ones that say not HEI and some that don’t say that. I’m guessing it depends on your distributor?
Hi Anthony, the MSD distributor cap and that high performance ignition module is just a step up from the factory. I could have used that module with the factory distributor cap and vice versa. It's barely a noticeable difference as far as power. You will see a slight increase in gas mileage if you decide to use the MSD cap. Thanks for watching.
If you don’t mind me asking, what symptoms were you experiencing before the install of the Cap, Rotor and ICM. I’m thinking of doing the same because my 1992 z28 5.7 is starting to Idle real low and sometimes stalls out when I’m at a stop 🛑 while I’m in gear. The car drives great and starts right back up. So far I’ve replaced, spark plugs, TPS, IAC. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
It stalled while driving. It would also cut off randomly but starts right back up. I've learned SO much about these third gens since replacing the many parts that I have replaced. You should also check your map sensor. That's another tell tale sign of what you are experiencing. Thank you SO much for watching!
What do you think would make a 89 gta with the same engine you have cuts off and just won’t crank back up unless you let it sit for awile but it will start with starter fluid I replaced the pump already just don’t know what else I can do
there's only one thing i didn't understand i was told when installing a new map sensor your suppose to put whatever that white goop is in-between the bottom of the sensor that makes contact with the distributor. did you already put that on or is it not a need for it to work properly?
Have you ever had the issue where you drive the car for awhile and cut off park it and try to start it up and it cranks but won’t turn over …. So far I’ve changed the icm and the fuel pumps coming on and car supposedly is getting the right fuel pressure
It seems as if you're losing spark. When it happens again, spray some starting fluid in the throttle body or the air duct to see if it will try to start. This will let you know if you have a spark issue if it cranks. You replaced the ignition coil and module?
@@acewashington6292 , if you haven't replaced those parts, that might be your problem. I have seen ignition coils and modules get hot and won't generate spark.
DId you ever get to the source of the issues with the camaro? You said it was driving better but not entirely there. I've a 2.8 with the same issue. Misfire and bad idle.
Love the content Brotha! Just subscribed.
Thank you.

I'm assuming you have the L98 engine? Any future videos on a transmission and rear end flush and fluid?

Lol. How is your fuel pressure?
@@TerenceDIY Fuel pressure is good and filter was replaced 2 years ago. Haven't been driven that much after that

A few bad injectors. I changed them out and replaced the fuel pressure regulator. The video is on the channel. Thank you.
anyone know where I could get a new white clip like these at 2:46? Bc I snapped the clip off on accident!
Does it still plug in fine? It's going to be hard to find that clip.

1 crucial step you didn't show installing plug wires on the cap.
Yeah that fuel injector connecter could be it bud.
