I have a great idea for a straight line mission path. But I'm not sure if it qualifies. It's from a land border between two countries, across a fairly narrow strip of land, and then to the ocean. What are your own rules?
@@ResoluteRiot Yes, but that was truly across an entire country. This would only be a fraction of the width of the country, due to a wedge of another country sticking in. The straight-line distance is on the order of 14-16 km! Only 3-4 % of the width of the country at that latitude.

For these reasons, amongst all of the sports, MMA And Boxing are the sports that the HOLY Father despises the most as He considers them as especially evil or wicked. And I am sorry to say it, but He is right. (Psalm 11:5)- “The Lord tests the righteous, but his soul hates the wicked and the one who loves violence.”
Ok so maybe you (or a Jersey native) can help me out here… what the hell is going on in that photo? That’s clearly right near the heart of the city yet most of the lots are empty. Has that area never been redeveloped since Sandy? I mean that was nearly ten years ago, it can’t be just that, right?
@@gormster it's actually the eastern most part of the city, past the Ocean Resort. A couple blocks more south or east and you'll run into the Boardwalk. It's either empty lots, apartment buildings, or houses in that area.

The landscape is very clearly European and very few countries in Europe have yellow plates Then he got Mombasa because the snorkel like thing on the Google car is exclusive to Kenya, and the palm trees told him it’s coastal
Type of trees, greenery. Roads (especially colors and patterns of lines on the road) and road environment first, plates on cars, the appearance of road signs. Kenya is the easiest country to guess - even you would guess it in seconds - because it's the only country in the world where google car had snorkel in the front (because roads are very dusty there and air intake must be high above ground)
I could see how he got to that guess though, my first reaction was "is this Kyrgyzstan? Or Ulaanbaatar? Wait, no, this looks like the US." Dunno why, probably the colors on the house on the right and not noticing all the way too modern and expensive cars at first.

The thing that actually helped me with Geoguesser more than I expected was watching all the Top Gear / Grand Tour special episodes where they go abroad. Since they spend so much time on the road and visit so many different cities you wouldn’t normally look into really helps when looking at the environment and the roads.
Tom, I have been watching since around 200k I believe. I fell in love with your geoguessr vids then became absolutely addicted to your straight line challenge vids. This may sound rediculous but your vids gave me a new appreciation for the beauty of this world and inspired me to go out and explore it. Thanks for that gift Tom and congrats!
when i saw the sign that read "torsgatan" i got really excited because i thought it could be my hometown, then i realized that torsgatan (thor's street) has got to be the most common swedish street name ever :P could definitely have been any city or town in the entire country. oh well :P

Been around since February 2018 when my dad kicked me out of the house and forced me to go to the library with my old laptop and you somehow got on my recommended when I opened UA-cam that day. Ended up bringing your old Geoguessr videos. Crazy to see 10k turn into 1m subs, super proud of you Tom, congratulations!
I think a lot of that is caused by the time restriction. Had he not time he probably could have been a lot closer. This format is biased towards first country you think of, which isn't always correct, but you just have to make a quick choice

FYI the really tall building in the background of the Atlantic City/Ulaanbaatar guess happens to actually be the tallest (and perhaps most infamous) building in Atlantic City, the Ocean Casino Resort (aka Revel Casino Hotel). It's well-known for financial issues that delayed its development and opening for years, which costed the city and investors millions of dollars. To be fair, it's not a landmark that most people even in America would instantly recognize, but it does make the guess slightly funnier. Anyway lol congrats on 1million, I've been here since like 50k, it's been amazing to watch the growth of the channel and I look forward to all the great content to come!

I think a lot of that is caused by the time restriction. Had he not time he probably could have been a lot closer. This format is biased towards first country you think of, which isn't always correct, but you just have to make a quick choice

FYI the really tall building in the background of the Atlantic City/Ulaanbaatar guess happens to actually be the tallest (and perhaps most infamous) building in Atlantic City, the Ocean Casino Resort (aka Revel Casino Hotel). It's well-known for financial issues that delayed its development and opening for years, which costed the city and investors millions of dollars. To be fair, it's not a landmark that most people even in America would instantly recognize, but it does make the guess slightly funnier.
Anyway lol congrats on 1million, I've been here since like 50k, it's been amazing to watch the growth of the channel and I look forward to all the great content to come!

Holy shit! Congrats on the mil! I'm not gonna say what so many others are saying: "I've been here when you were still...." cause that shit got old fast. However, despite your size, it NEVER felt like I'm watching a different channel or person. You certainly got more confident and developed a routine but other than that, you're still the Tom I subbed to 785 years ago and the content continues to stay entertaining and relevant, both outdoors and indoors.

What I love about your content is that it shows it takes a lot of hard work and dedication to become great at something; and even then, a guy who can see a picture of a road lined with trees can guess it's location in 10 seconds within a few miles, can also mistake Atlantic City for Mongolia.
