Great results! But from what I can see in the test footage, you could squeeze the image a little bit more to maintain that 2x anamorphic factor, shapes of faces looks a little bit stretched. But other than that, amazing video!
Thank you! In davinci resolve I applied 1.8x desqueeze. At 2x everything in frame looks more stretched and unnatural. I think this is the specifics of the Helios 44-2. I want try Canon FD lenses. Thanks for the feedback 💯
Hey, I'm thinking of buying the Sankor to get this exact setup, was wondering how heavy it is in total as I would be using it while travelling and it looks like quite a hassle to take around with you? Incredible shots btw
Hey, just weighed, its 648 grams (sankor, taking lens, adapters) without camera. Only Sankor weighs 307 grams. All setup with GH5s weights 1,3 kg. The difficulties (hassles) I faced over shooting days: 1. Focusing (double-focus) my solution is taping both lenses with distance values (1m, 3,m ....∞) 2. Handheld footages. It was very hard to shoot, most footages was shaky, even camera strap over neck can't help some situation. Its a little bit hard to hold this specific long setup. I think with top handle rig results can be much better. Thanks for the question, I hope my answer will help you!
Helios itself has a distortion bokeh in background, with the anamorphic setup result looks pretty interesting. For standard “anamorphic look” I want to try attach canon fd series
nice video man ! please tell me, what is the widest focal who can work with this anamorphic lens ? can you use wider lens then 50mm ? as taken lens ? thank you !
Hey, I tried 35 mm its vignetting much, usable widest focal is 50+ You can see Focal Length Compatibility at this page. Its not Sankor but +- same adapter www.shopmoment.com/products/anamorphic-lens-adapter

I just ordered the Sankor 16c yesterday. Going to pair it up with a super takumar. Holding thumbs it looks good!
I hope you will enjoy this experience 🙌🏻

beautiful! i got the same setup haha
Hows the sharpness wide opne with it?
the clamp used is the Basic Clamp (60mm Base w/ 52 & 58mm Rings) ?
Yes
Do you think a different taking lens would work with this same method if the appropriate step up filters are used?
Sure it will work, but taking lens should be above 55 mm to exclude vignetting
is this lens set up suitable for gimbal work?
Yep
what is the purpose of attaching the helios 44-2 if the sankor is already anamorphic with the same bokeh effect?
Sankor it just a projector lens not and technically it’s not designed to shoot video
Where can I find everything to adapt the sankor?
Ebay
