This Is one of the best film emulation tutorial I've seen so far, your explanations and methods are pretty good, great job dude!
I just picked up this emulation and it is outstanding! Thank you for putting this out there. I am using this on an upcoming video about vintage racecar culture and the tones are a match made in heaven. 🙏
You are my most beloved video artist. Whenever new work comes out, I purchase it without a single doubt. I sincerely admire and support your talent.
Yoo will the powergrade work with my iPad Pro m1 DaVinci??
Just bought FilmVision v2! I'm absolute in love with all of your work serr. Thank you so much for this! I'm starting my filmmaking/videography journey, and I'm obsessed with the film-look but the process just seemed overwhelming. Thanks so much for simplifying it and boosting my dream to create! ❤
is it working with the Iphone videos on davinci resolve or premiere ? thanks
Happy to hear that❤️
@@hamzansf5335yes! There is a Rec.709 LUT that you can use with your iPhone footage.
does it work on the free davinci or do i need to get the stuido version ? thanks
That genuinely looks amazing.
These are stunning edits! Cant wait to cop this! Thanks for making these!
so glad to see you’re back! i missed your content 😊
Glad to have you back serr❤️
Soooo good man
❤️
Beautiful, thank you.🖤
Definitely a great tool in the kit! Great job on these Grades!
wowww seriously amazed by this!! can't wait to try. thank you.
A few days ago, I came back to this channel in the hope of new video I would have missed... This is just perfect !
Great stuff! One small tip: I saw you were using a CST to go from LogC to Cineon gamma. If you’re converting one log gamma to another always make sure to disable tone mapping in the CST. The tone mapping feature is when you’re converting from a log type to a display type gamma.
Super stoked for this! Thank you serr!
omg!! thanks so much for this video!🥺i hope it does really really well!
This is fricken beautiful
LOVE THIS CAN'T WAIT TO TRY IT OUT
gorgeous footage dude
Amazing work!
awesome work man!
Nice work! Great to see someone doing actual zooms instead of scaling in post
It looks amazing
It looks enough like film. One of the better emulations I've seen for sure. It definitely alleviates that overbearing un-stylized video look too many indie movies have these days. Great job. This will help a lot of people.
Not a single "motion picture" looks like this. This, like any other "film emulation" looks like a hipster home movie.
@@ToxicTurtleIsMad
By "un-stylized video look", I'm talking about movies like Asphalt Angels or Rise of the Black Bat (the first two to come to mind available on UA-cam). Basically, movies with some distribution shot poorly on consumer quality cameras that just look like home video. Granted, those movies typically have a host of other problems aside from the look. I'm not comparing this to any film emulations from any studio you've readily heard of. All that said, "hipster home movie", although clearly used as a pejorative, is a fair description of the final result.
My personal favorite film emulation from a recent movie people have actually heard of is Netflix's They Cloned Tyrone, which is lightyears ahead of this.
@@ToxicTurtleIsMadserr profile matched a bunch of cameras to make accurate luts. He did his own test shots with film to get to create the luts. So in a sense, it’s accurate to his film look, but may not be accurate to the film look you have in mind. Remember, there is no singular film look, because there are so many creative variables in the film processing pipeline.
man, this is gold!
Looks Dope as usual
Wow!! Thank you for sharing, just subscribed :)
Bought it right away. Appreciate the Discount Code for us OG Customers. ❤
We missed you man ❤❤❤
This is a steal for that price 🖤
ridiculously good
what do you shoot with?
Bro's on fire fr 🔥
Super cool 🤩
Surprised you’re not using an ARRI yet… glad you’re back
Thank you sir!
Thanks, man
I've tried all of the film emulation packs under the sun and this one legitimately emulates the looks extremely well. Used this with my Epic and couldn't be more happy with the results. Well worth the money 💯
Solid ! Regards utmost hero
very very good ! bless
incredible work. I love your approach and the artistic universe you propose.
I love the music and would like to know who the artist is and the title of the music.
Thank you for your answer.
Beautiful work as always Serr! I noticed your CST started from arri-log-c. Did you shoot this on an Arri camera?
Let’s go!!!!!
Hey there serr, really big fan of your channel and will buy the powergrade next week! Just a quick question, is it possible to see a quick grade of the powergrade in black and white? I know it's not based on a b&w film like Kodak Eastman but I'm just really interested to see it before I could buy. Many thanks!
Love it so much! Thanks! Any way you can provide a proper LUT for Zcam's Zlog2 ? that would be so amazing!
Hi, serr! Big fan here, love your work ❤
Few questions:
1. Do I need Davinci’s full version to use film vision 2?
2. It works with Dlog (ski drone log) too? If not, what do you suggest if I want to use it in drone shots?
Thanks!
Only the grain node requires the full studio version, you can just turn that off and use the powergrade with free davinci :) I have free grain overlays linked in the description for you to use instead!
& yes d-log is included!
@@serr Wait, doesnt the Halation require the full studio version as well?
@@mdh-op6vh yes, but I have two other nodes of halation included in the powergrade that are from scratch and don’t require the studio version!
@@serr adding onto this - will this work with the new apple log on the new iphone 15s? sry very new to this
@@felixkrell890 @serr I have a similar question. Which lut should you choose to work with videos from iPhone 14 pro?
Dope
My boy Brown Sensation on the thumbnail
which camera/lense is your go to video camera? Looks great!
Very cool. Question: in DaVinci, how do you get those nodes onto a clip? Just drag them on from a Menu?
what camera are you using? beautiful shots with nice composition
Hello, I had a question... I use a Nikon Z6, so what is the preferred color profile that I should use? Also, what are the key difference's between V1 and V2
I really enjoyed watching! Thak You!
But one question, are your LUTs for Red colorspace? My english is not the best so maybe i got confused...
I will buy in support you
thank you SERR ❤❤
Just bought FilmVision v2
I received a discount coupon and I am very happy about it
thank you so much SERR ❤❤
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
YOOOO whats the song in the intro? EPIC
Where did you get your intro titles. They look great!
This is amazing and thanks for this! Which one do I choose for go pro?
Depending on which profile you shot on! But a safe bet is the rec.709 LUT.
Where do you usually get your music? Love them so much!
Love FlimVision v2 man, i am wondering is there a lut for iphone's footage ?
I need to ask before you get swamped with replies - the shots at 2:24 - what lens/camera combo did you use? Its stunning!
What is this music? So great! Can you tell me? Great video!
i love you
Damn ❤
Really liking FilmVision v2 so far but had one question, for the free version of Davinci is there any way to strengthen the halation methods 1 and 2?
❤❤❤❤
It'd be cool to find a way to do this while retaining all the darker details in the original footage
Just shoot with a camera with good dynamic range and maybe adjust the contrast in your camera before hand. Also crush the darker details.
When grading F-Log2 footage in DaVinci what is your go to cst setup?
Hi! Am I to assume the footage must be shot with a cine camera listed in the pulldown menu?
Finally Serr…
Amazing!!! Would this emulation work on a standard profile?
Yes! Just use the rec.709 LUT included.
It's always a joy to see film grain. The stuff today is way too sharp, its gone too far, when I watch a film, I dont want it to feel like a documentary.
Love it! Do the premiere LUT versions have grain?
They don’t! But I linked free grain overlays in the description for you to use :)
@@serrGotcha, thanks for letting me know. I’m excited to purchase and try them out 🙌
Hi, been shooting film photography for a few years, but I'm a total beginner when it comes to video editing. Will this work with footage from a Sony A7 shot in SLOG3?
bought the v2 LUT package! i presume i can layer this over another LUT that already included an FLog-2 CST in the previous node?
oh brother
Hi Serr! I have an issue, when I export my videos the whole video ends up looking really dark, any tips for fixing that? I've already corrected the rec-709a issue
wow
Would this work with V-Log on the Lumix S5ii Camera? btw fantastic job, it looks amazing.
Yes! There is included LUT for V-log.
Do you think that this would work in LumaFusion on iPhone ProRes video? Filmic has a ProRes 709 setting which I assume is compatible.
Is there Leica L Log lut in that package?
hey there serr!
I am very new to all of this, but I will get an iphone soon that can shoot in the new apple log format, and I've been looking around for ways to emulate the film look.
I've so far landed on the free version of davinci, paired with some form of color grading - but it looks like it will need quite a few workarounds to get the features of the full version and bigger plugins like dehancer or even the halation and noise features of this powergrade tool to work. Is there a way to get the halation and noise to a point where it is comparable to the "big money" plugins?
It says Final Cut Pro, does it actually work with it? If so do you have a tutorial?
what camera do you use?
Where can we find the full tutorial when we bought the plug in ? Thanks in advance
Where do I get the “I am still developing” T-shirt??? I keep searching for it without succes :(
If you could share the intro music. Thanks.
How does it compare with dehancer and what are your thoughts on it?
Great! Is it working on DaVinci resolve on iPad too? What is the difference to CinPrint 16 Powergrade? Thanx a lot
I’ll have to get back to you about the iPad app! But as for as how it compares with cineprint, I’d say this is a much more mature take on film that could be used to emulate all the way up to 35mm & 65mm with more natural tones.
@@serr thanx a lot! The CinPrint 16 Powergrade is working great on the iPad so I think your Powergrade should work fine too!
😮👍🏻
Are you using Color managment by default?
Hey i use an hlg3 picture profile, can I use these luts with that? Or do I need to convert hlg into rec 709 first before applying
Quick question, how do you get the video square like that?
That product includes workflow in Davinci studio?
You’re the best kept secret 🎉
What kind of cameras did you use for this video?
You think this would work well with a BMPCC original? Looking to start making short films. Want to invest in the right camera that will get me the perfect filmic look
Que version de davinci Resolve es con la que este editado este video ?
When you install this, do the nodes auto appear in, say DR like in the video? Like the EXPOSURE, WB, etc?
Question about purchasing. I already own the Filmvision 1. I want to buy Filmvision 2 but I see on the store there’s a product that’s FV2 Powergrade+LUT and one that’s just FV2 LUT. Do I purchase the Powergrade+LUT?
Nope! One is for davinci and the other is for premier pro! If you’re using davinci get the powergrade version 🤝
