A full week of work comes together as we go on set to shoot the short film! Half the team heads to Weta Workshop for early morning creature makeup, while the production crew and Adam go on location to begin filming. There's lot of problem-solving in the moment to get all of our shots, and both Peter Jackson and Richard Taylor visit the set to lend some advice.

When Adam said "ouch" while having the fake arm stitched up and the girl freaked out I died laughing. That shit was awesome. Lol!

I love tested, hate shoes and admire Peter Jackson, so this episode was heaven!

most of the crew is from Weta, so I guess they're used to him by now ;)
My absolute favourite thing is seeing people in very scary monster costumes going back to behaving perfectly normal off-camera, it just never stops being funny.

thanks Adam and your team....i was just browsing part 1 never thinking i was going to watch all of it.....4 hrs later ive just watched all of it....thats how good this series was...those guys at weta kno there craft...they seem so laid back and creative using simple methods like a rock to age leather...just bad ass geniuses....shane was awsome and everyone involved....then to top it off you have richard and peter just pop in giving advice....gold... Richards obviously hands on leading from the front, and peters more like giving some tips but not taking over the show kinda thing........probably best 4 hours ive had on youtube in a while. i have subscribed because of this.

Genuinely loved watching the making of for the lotr movies, this feels like a little piece of that.

"Would only be a matter of time" - Can never keep Pete and Richard from showing up three hours early to experience a fun afternoon in the Weta woods - helping to push the visuals to the next level! Like a flash back to their early film days of blood and guts! 10/10 Adam and Norm for having just too much fun! Just watched the finished scene guys - didn't realise it went out in July 2018.

Adam Savage, you guys should have done the fight scene, at colonial Knob which is in the town of Porirua, ask your friend's in Wellington, about this place it would have been, just as good as this spot for your shot.

I've pretty much been gushing about some of these videos from people with professional production backgrounds, but... I can start to see the value of premium stuff. I guess I don't wanna do premium, more than anybody else does. It sort of seems like the antithesis to UA-cam as a concept. Why have a UA-cam at all if it's premium? May as well be Prime or Netflix. Reach, probably. But, at the same time, this stuff is pretty cool. I think it's top of the line for videos about how film production works. Something to think about. Real deal. There you go, from dude somewhere in the USA. Hey, and what else - this is a true-to-form maker's project. Making stuff.
Next: Do something with Star Wars and a Lightsaber fight :D
