"Decorating my house" has always been my favorite activity in any Bethesda game. I started a new build on vault 88 a few days ago with a plan to make it as elaborate and ambitious as humanly possible. I got maybe a 5th of the way through the atrium before my console started crashing. Sadly on console it's just not possible. I need a pc soooo bad.

"Come and take it" on the flag was actually a reference to Texas' old flag before it became part of the US. Mexico gave Texas a cannon to defend themselves and when Texas started rebelling, Mexico asked for the cannon back. You don’t need to run wires through your vault, like you do with your other settlements. Power goes directly through the atrium floors. As long as all your rooms are connected by the floor to the generator, you can power your lights. Use vault conduits on the walls to connect by wires. Otherwise good build.

Dude. You need to stop. You’re making Bethesda look bad. Your settlement builds, dude... they’re just too awesome. If you made a video game with anything resembling FO4 settlement building, you’d steal almost all of Bethesda’s customers.
I made my vault a place of death. Turrets everywhere. Spiked floors and other various traps like a trap door leading into a pit of rad scorpions. Have a dozen deathclaws in an area too. My 10 settlers are in power armor with fat mans. A siren goes off as soon as you pass the vault door which alerts a dozen mirelurks in the next room. I pretty much captured all the vault creatures already in there and they became my friends. Oh and this is a great vault dude. Most of settlements are pretty nice but your vault is just fucking awesome!
Don't apologies or over think the windows in our beautiful bunker build, because in bunker built during the cold war acutely have fake windows in the to help the inhabitants cope with being under ground for longer duration of time. And keep doing good videos. Bye from sweden
Because the IT guys are listening to everything that comes off of your phone. Personalized ads, recommended videos; they’re trying to be discreet, but they’re constantly spying on us lmao. Who wouldn’t, if they designed the devices that dictate our life.
Idea for the subway and sewer exit is make it a secret railroad entrance and exit to your main facilities. Also you could make the rooms the exit into the caverns airlock rooms with two doors and a radiation remover arch in them.
This is indescribably impressive. The complexity of your structural design, alone, is unfathomable. I usually lack the most, in my elaborate settlement builds, when it comes to the general layout plans. Anyway, fantastic job! I wanted my Vault 88 to be extraordinary and advanced, expansive to an extent ( similar to Vault 81 ), something of a vast, underground utopia, but I honestly just don't have this kind of strength, lmao. I made more progress with hopeless areas like Murkwater, than I ever did with 88. Never even knew where to start, with 88, but this has inspired me to try again. Great build, as always. :]
You can use the metro tunnels as vault exile shacks, or for the hobos who don't want to live in the vault, what I did for my minutemen play through is turn the tunnels into ex-raider homes since my vault doesn't allow raiders. I just took some settlers, dressed them up in raider clothes and put them there.
with the problem of settlers just standing around you can use the work shop to command them to "go here" and manually walk them to where they need to be
Dude your settlement build for this vault is astounding! Actually when I build my vault, I mimicked you’re style a little bit. Problem is I do not have mods on my Xbox lol 😆. However with the resources that I had I was able to make it work. I gave my atrium the classic curved arch on the ceiling(similar to 101s atrium). I turned my vault into a army barracks, college dorm, and shopping mall mix(2 floors only). I even have the classic circle overseer window overlooking the atrium. Also thanks for the tips on the enemy spawn points I put so many missile turrets in those areas. NOTHING is able to attack my settlements 😎👍🏼
It's a HUGE shame that the settlers stay in the Atrium don't go into the main vault proper, it's really a fantastic vault and it's kinda wasted with no one really experiencing it hopefully this is patched
Skyloft My settlers all huddle on a atrium bridge section above nothing, they'll work but no sleeping or leisure time. They get around everything fine when ordered so I know the navmesh isn't broken.
Hey, Oxhorn: I know you dislike the neon letters and numbers but I have found quite a grand use for them in the vault: in conjunction with the cycling lights, I use the zeros in racks of eight across to make my hydroponics area look like it is lit up with UV emitters. Added byproduct of this is a faint sizzling hum from having so many of them in the same area, which really makes the hydroponics bay pop aurally as well as visually! You have this large, dimly lit chamber with this very faint blue light; it looks very cool. Hope that’s of use - I’ve been binging these videos as I play fallout 4 again after being away from it for so long. Hope all is well!
The game is really shitty,is really disappointing, buy another game if you dont want to search for hours for mods to make the game a little bit more playable i suggest you buy another game.
You’d think that they would just add snap points to the modular pieces that they already use to build the vaults and give them to the player. But no, they just had to redo the designs for all of the rooms,
Love the wide open atrium, it’s just a shame that there’s so much space yet the settlers are ineffective. It took me months to figure out that I just wasn’t going to have an ideal vault space. So I took inspiration from Resident Evil: Extinction and Day of the Dead’s underground facilities and made an open atrium but furnished it very lightly with medical equipment. So the vault intentionally has liminal and empty vibes. I leaned in more on the Vault-Tec experimentation and made upper levels for the first experiments in the atrium and put an Overseer building on the 4th floor, only accessible by elevator. Replaced beds with synthetic augmenters instead, and gave them Vault suits and Institute suits to give the settlers a sci-fi aesthetic. While the rest of the sectors are testing facilities for traps that I set to test combat, also keeping the Uranium reserves in tact in place for weapons manufacturing. Being less populated, dimly lit, and suites for 24 hour experimentation underneath the surface, my vault feels quite cozy for an aristocratic dictator.
I don't know if it has a Nexus upload (which I know is easier to deal with on PC thanks to the NMM), but there is this mod called "Settlement Tweaks" on the XB1 Bethesda Net that does various things to settlements, and has add-ons for each DLC, including Vault-Tec Workshop, and one of the staples of them, especially the Vault-Tec since Vault 88 is by far the largest singular settlement in the entire game, fixing the settlers' logic and pathfinding from all ends of the settlement. Since installing it, I can confirm that it does in fact work, having watched settlers travel from my Atrium way back to the Northeast Sector, past my Armory in the area below the water pump, to the right of the water pump, past the pillar (which can't be removed normally or even with numerous scrap mods despite what you said, probably due to one of your other scrap mods I don't have) and into the towering Hydroponics right by the Northeast Workbench itself. The mod set does not, however, fix them being really, really stupid and not knowing how to have any of them STEP ASIDE or BACK UP and allow the others get past so they can get past. Like real humans would. And would entirely fix the conjestion I keep running into in the middle of my hallways (as in the tiles themselves that are 1 by x) that branch in multiple paths since some want to go one way, others the other way, and then the last few ruin it all by trying to cut across to the third way that isn't going in the line.
I have come back to this video many time in the past few years, and I can't get over it! I don't have the time, dedication, patience, or creativity to do anything like this. I have made many mock ups of my vault 88, and never could get anything as good as this! I even tried my hardest to copy it from the video, but the mods it takes, and the incredible detail made it impossible for an xbox player. I really wished that you could make mods to have prebuilt settlements, so everyone who loves everything you create for your settlements can have the same thing!
"I don't like it when the Overseer oversees things, makes sure no one's breaking the rules, stuff like that. However I do support worshipping the minutemen and myself as the general in a cultlike manner."
Dude. Four years later, (almost to the day!) I cannot help but find this amazingly impressive and so very enjoyable. Thanks for what would have taken me a year to do! Great work!
I know this is a 2 year old video, at least it is to me. I have just found this, and I can only say... MOST IMPRESSIVE BUILD I HAVE EVER SEEN!!! I realize I am 2 years behind in Fallout 4 but even from what I have looked at as far as overhauls go, by far the most amazing thing I have seen.
Doesn't make any sense to make 1 room for each settler, specially if you have children settlers. It's safe to assume at least a few of them will form couples and most of the children settlers will have parents / guardians. Based on that, you'll have some units that are for families and others smaller units for single individuals. Also, it is not very logical to have only 1 or 2 large bathroom for a very large settlement. Can you imagine having to run all the way to the other side of the vault when you really need to go? I makes more sense to have multiple small bathrooms with a few toilets throughout your vault.
The desire here is for private bedrooms. The rooms do look large enough to fit small private bathrooms. Same with the huge classroom where a restroom would fit. Maybe a few portalets here and there would work to reduce the risks of embarrassing accidents.
Do you know how much dedication he has put in to this? It's certain things there going to be mistakes when you work on something for 2 weeks. Give him a break. He spent day, after day, after day on this, and he should get paid for how impressive this vault is. It's so complicated I don't even think Vault Tec themselves could construct anything like this. This isn't Minecraft, so he can't pair up with a friend to help. He must have spent hours just messing around with place anywhere and faulty snapping. I think a little bathroom and bedroom problems aren't going to ruin the whole entire vault. Anyways Vault Tec would have probably rather separate the children from the parents so they can get away with any sinister experiments Vault Tec would have been doing.
I still enjoy playing this game. Started a new game recently and I like going for practical settlement builds where the size matches the population. Its refreshing through how youve built up most of the settlement
Yo That just made my day!! Evilviking13 is one of my favorite UA-camrs and I'm glad his second mod is actually being used by another youtuber I watch a lot.
Very nice. When there is a lot going on, things added to it, that tends to stop settlers from doing what they should be doing. Something a lot of people found out themselves when building a large vault 88.
The vault isnt navmeshed correctly? Hmm... Dear modding community... A great youtuber that makes Fallout 4 videos called Oxhorn has made a glorious huge vault. Unfortanetly, the Navmeshing in the vault isnt working correctly, making all the settlers/vault dwellers sit in the middle of the aturium if they have nothing to do and are unemployed. I had gotten an idea to make a mod that gives you the option for the game to calculate a navmesh for the vault with a click of a button, allowing settlers/vault dwellers to roam around the vault. Sincerely, "John Bigless"
Also, speaking about the "kids-dont-sit-in-their-desks-in-classroom" glitch, the problem is that the kids dont have an animation to sit on the desks, so they just stand there. Same with robots, an assaultron doesn't have an animation for farming, so they just stand in front of a crop that they are assigned to.
Mild complaint with the big shops and a that you cant place stuff in the "cubbies" *dunno how to spell that* I think it's a game limitation or laziness one of those.
Instead of using colored lights from one end of a hallway to the other, what do you think of having white lights with your colored lights spaced every three or four spaces so the halls are as bright as the rest of the vault? It seems that the darker lights make the hallways more foreboding instead of welcoming. I don't know, maybe it's just me.

Got into playing Fallout 4 again you know just quaranthings and im like dang, I would've never thought about building this awesome massive vault. and this was way back in 2016. im in Awe of this.
If fallout universe were real and this vault were real I bet it would be a hub city for travelers since it's so big. At least that's what I would do. The whole atrium first floor would be a pop up tent market three days of the week to make income for the settlement. Sadly can't do everything in a game :/
I love this vault build. Just getting into my own at the moment. Though, I feel the need to say that at 44:38 or so, the green lights lining the long hall reminded me of The Green Mile. Anyone else have that, or is it just me?
This vault is very impressive. I can feel your love for the game. I personally love the settlement system. My Minutemen General is my favorite character out of the four. Some ideas I had for those open dirt rooms and that cool little area by the pharmacy are a radio room, similar to the one in Fallout Shelter. You could set up the trailers to look like Travis' setup or something very similar. A big room with consoles and a singer would also be very interesting. That little area by the pharmacy reminds me of a dressing room of sorts. Maybe you could turn that into a little cosmetic station for the singers or turn it into a break room for the maintenance workers? Just some ideas, but I love the vault the way it is. Good job!
Personally, I'd have had some sort of green room. A "garden" area of some sort. Not for food, but for relaxing. (Like the one you build in Graygarden) I don't know how much you can do with plants inside a vault, but that'd be my idea for the still empty space in your vault.
So much respect for anyone who builds a decent vault settlement. I can't wrap my tiny mind around the layout of the thing! Many now is a good time to revisit it. I would have those open areas as a target practice range (gotta stay sharp) and the other as a music classroom as the acoustics would be good. If the residents are happy and secure they would once again be able to indulge in creative pursuits like music and art.

Your settlement builds, dude... they’re just too awesome. If you made a video game with anything resembling FO4 settlement building, you’d steal almost all of Bethesda’s customers.
@Explosive Addict geez he’s just pointing out Errors so maybe Bethesda can improve upon it in later games
@@dragonboi5601 Well.... They Didn't....
Good idea 😈
That's really creative, your vault is like a zoo, deathclaw security is sure to keep it safe.
Do you work for Vault-tec? Sounds like you do
that place sounds lovely
I am curious - since the vault DLC doesn't allow cages of any kind how are you able to have Deathclaws? I can't even catch a cat.
Don't apologies or over think the windows in our beautiful bunker build, because in bunker built during the cold war acutely have fake windows in the to help the inhabitants cope with being under ground for longer duration of time. And keep doing good videos. Bye from sweden
29:07 I only noticed with headphones on, but somebody farts.
IVE BEEN LOOKING THROUGH THE COMMENTS FOR FOREVER TO SEE IF ANYONE NOTICED
It's the chair
Who else skipped ahead then back again. Love a good fart
he said "Dino" so much that you tube decided to put dinosaur related videos in my "up next" even though I've never watched videos about dinosaurs.
Because the IT guys are listening to everything that comes off of your phone. Personalized ads, recommended videos; they’re trying to be discreet, but they’re constantly spying on us lmao. Who wouldn’t, if they designed the devices that dictate our life.
I have almost a full gigabyte of mods that only add decoration and furniture. Help me
same, i have fifty different mods that only adds decorations
bruh that picture
Clutter mods are a must for me
.? The average settlement mods is a fraction of a megabyte how did you get a gigabyte full
+Darkpandaplays dude, the Walther p99 is 88 megabytes
I said "there's more?" More times during this video than I think have combined in the last ten years.
Idea for the subway and sewer exit is make it a secret railroad entrance and exit to your main facilities. Also you could make the rooms the exit into the caverns airlock rooms with two doors and a radiation remover arch in them.
If every Vault in America was like Oberseer Oxhorn's Vault 88, America would've been rebuilt within a century.
I just took some settlers, dressed them up in raider clothes and put them there.
with the problem of settlers just standing around you can use the work shop to command them to "go here" and manually walk them to where they need to be
Doesn't work in Vault 88
Oxhorn it works on mine
but they will go back to bed when its night, so that would be stupid
then you would have to move them manually every time you pass a loading screen
You could put some of the settlers beds in the other sectors. If they wanna sleep, they have to go to that sector.
NOTHING is able to attack my settlements 😎👍🏼
he craps his pants at 29:07 if you listen close enough but who doesn't
WOW
BlueSlurpie6 4 thats his chair
The Golden gamer Stop being silly, a chair can’t crap it’s pants.
I choked on my coke and snot came out my nose lol.
Welp my bad
It's a HUGE shame that the settlers stay in the Atrium don't go into the main vault proper, it's really a fantastic vault and it's kinda wasted with no one really experiencing it hopefully this is patched
Skyloft - Settlers being glitchy dumbasses will never be fixed. Ever.
There is a MOD were settlers actually utilise the entire vault. Think it's called "settlers sandbox extended"
OptimusHighMegaBong than you! So going to add this to my nmm right now
zach burke just found the mod to
Skyloft My settlers all huddle on a atrium bridge section above nothing, they'll work but no sleeping or leisure time.
Hope all is well!
adding all the little items must have been a pain in the ass
There's a mod called do-it-your-shelf which places them on the shelves for you
It works similar to a bobblehead stand
Chap McBigKnob - Except it already shows the items.
There are mods that have them prestocked, and ones that display based on what you put in them.
wow....just...wow my mind is blown, so buying this game tomorrow
hes using all the dlc btw
***** u can on xb1 & i was just telling him about the fact that if hes buying it he wont be able to do alot of this without dlc
+mario6506 most of the ones in the video are able to be used on xbox one
The game is really shitty,is really disappointing, buy another game if you dont want to search for hours for mods to make the game a little bit more playable i suggest you buy another game.
What other game would you suggest?
18:50
Hmm, somehow I will not trust that man to shave my beard..
I think facial reconstruction surgery is the best job for Clem.
So he can make you look like a deformed deathclaw
Everyone needs a friend like clem
You'd think that because Bethesda made Vault-Tec, that everything would work seamlessly..
Adam Wolfe one would think
You’d think that they would just add snap points to the modular pieces that they already use to build the vaults and give them to the player. But no, they just had to redo the designs for all of the rooms,
Actually id think the opposite, have you even played fo4?
Bethesda didn’t make vault tech
"It just works"
You can use the subway space as like one of those bars like the ones used during the prohibition.
KittySmittySource speak easy?
I freaking love the design fits well and feels like a vault well done.
omg its amazing
it inspired me to start my vault
good job.
he's hired several keemstars to be his gardeners
Keemstar is dad
R kelly dont make me piss, yuh, I might plead the fifth, yuh
Dude. Four years later, (almost to the day!) I cannot help but find this amazingly impressive and so very enjoyable. Thanks for what would have taken me a year to do! Great work!
The barbershop and clinic being beside one another made me remember Doctor-Barber from The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack.
You could put the projector in your school, something for the teacher to use to show pre war videos or something
G.O.A.T
When I made my “vault” I didn’t even use the VaultTec stuff 😂 I just put all the stuff they needed on the muddy floor
Have a settler running down the hall screaming make way because the settler has the runs would be hilarious. Lol.
p
I love the vault if only vault tech wasn’t so evil and decided to make more vaults like this one
I still enjoy playing this game. Started a new game recently and I like going for practical settlement builds where the size matches the population. Its refreshing through how youve built up most of the settlement
Anyone think the classroom is too big.
Could probably do with about 2 to 3 times the number of desks
Kadethered Games you yeah you keep reading
Yo That just made my day!! Evilviking13 is one of my favorite UA-camrs and I'm glad his second mod is actually being used by another youtuber I watch a lot.
Same
Me: his videos are so relaxing
Oxhorn: [talking about any lore about this post apocalyptic game]
You seem like a damn cool guy, If I ever met you in person, I'd buy ya a beer~
Dude. Oxhorn plz make this costom Vault downloadable. plz
YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
👍👍👍👍
Willy_Th3_ Walrus Hell yeah
there's no way to download the vault he made it self as he crafted in game, all you can do is download the mods he used and try your best lol
Very nice. When there is a lot going on, things added to it, that tends to stop settlers from doing what they should be doing. Something a lot of people found out themselves when building a large vault 88.
“I’ve decorated this room really well”
Ranger Dave: Hold my beer
No it's
Ranger dave: hold my m14
But you forgot the social experiment
AfterDark3 just a prank bro
Vault 88 experiment- to see how people would conduct themselves in a social situation with toilets located far distances away from all social areas
The experiment is that they think there's a experiment running on so they are paranoid
The sheer size and scope of this is mind boggling... So well done as always!!
I had gotten an idea to make a mod that gives you the option for the game to calculate a navmesh for the vault with
a click of a button, allowing settlers/vault dwellers to roam around the vault.
Sincerely, "John Bigless"
Also, speaking about the "kids-dont-sit-in-their-desks-in-classroom" glitch, the problem is that the kids dont have
an animation to sit on the desks, so they just stand there.
Same with robots, an assaultron doesn't have an animation for farming, so they just stand in front of a crop
that they are assigned to.
Mild complaint with the big shops and a that you cant place stuff in the "cubbies" *dunno how to spell that*
I think it's a game limitation or laziness one of those.
it works fine for me on ps4 I guess the type of platform could be accountable but then again bethesda made the game so expect a billion bugs .
Oxhorn you made me watch 1 hour and 15 minutes of your vault and you know what... I sat though it since you sound happy
"the lights generate heat" has lanterns everywhere that are lit with FIRE, you know about fire, right...it produces heat.
omg i just wanted to check some vault 88 rebuild by players ... and the first vault i got to see is a vault build by oxhorn XD (im a big fan of your wow videos :D)
btw amazing vault !
Thanks! Glad you made it to the new channel
Oxhorn i need you to bild a volt for jall cell and toxic gas station in the same time for a box
Good job!
I actually put a male armor display right in front of my overseers window.:)
dressed as me!
So your Vault Dwellers think you are always watching... JUDGING.
they actually say that I am, it's pretty funny
get ready for the old in/out with some debauchka
Same. Do it in almost every settlement.
Personally, I'd have had some sort of green room. A "garden" area of some sort. Not for food, but for relaxing. (Like the one you build in Graygarden) I don't know how much you can do with plants inside a vault, but that'd be my idea for the still empty space in your vault.
Thanks for the idea!
I think Bethesda should make you able to start to rebuild Boston and the surrounding area but by bit sort of
