Mate everyone talks about James being 60 and still doing this, Kirk is older than James and he is still killing it. He has had issues with his finger and joints and still solo-ing like there is no tomorrow. Lars is almost 60 too and drumming like he does at 60 is not easy, I don't care what people say. Rob is a beast period. All of them deserve credit, not just James. Great reaction bruh!!!!
Anyone else notice something, Lux Æterna had MASSIVE Kill Em All vibes There’s a particular riff in Screaming Suicide which has the exact same tone as Ride the Lightning There’s also a particular riff in If Darkness Had A Son which was major MOP vibes This song screams AJFA
This track has that the others don't. Dynamics! It's much harder to get bored with this song because there's lots of different things happening. Tempo changes, key change, drum and guitar fills, harmonies. They kept it interesting
At 1:56 “The Four Horsemen!” Horsemen are drawing nearer! On rascal scooters they ride! They come to …. check your blood sugar! On through the dead of night! We four geriatrics ride! Or eat your bacon and die! High cholesterol yeah! Oh no no! 😮😉
So here I am back after a bit of time and several listens and I’m loving this song now! I’ve never believed in the whole “let it grow on you” thing until now. The lyrics on this one are actually clever at times and Kirk can apparently still come up with some nice licks and good solo when he wants to. My hopes for the album have been replenished. 🤘🏻🍻
Dude I was waiting for you to get up n headbang, I made some really angry breakfast to this , this morning 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘 Metallica never fails to get the blood pumping 😊🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘rock on people
I think I like the new songs more than some of the previous stuff! James is powerful on this one…Kirk actually sounds a bit better? Didn’t like the Wah..Kirk’s Pitch Axis Control (bending, etc) is not good! Lars was himself..effective, but man he needs to imitate Bill Ward a bit!! Good song..best of the 4 by far!
All I’m really hoping for on this album is something as good as Spit out the Bone, but that will be a tall order. I consider that to be the best Metallica song since the 80s. I hope they do something like that again, a magnum opus they’ve kept secret for the final track of the album (and indeed maybe the final track of the band?) that will blow your balls off Damage Inc style! I guess we’ll find out soon enough.
@@James-hh1lq They’ve arguably one poor album, in my view, St. Anger, and it’s still got great stuff on it. And it’s beloved by many too. It’s all subjective. It’s art.
meh darkness takes a bit to grow on you i found. being my fav so far. suicide as well grew slowly still like it lux was to short and this is a solid song closer to old school music loving this so far. metallica, for me anyway, has always been a need to listen to multiple times to gather it all in as there is so much going on in every song. first time i heard metallica was fight fire with fire i did not like it to the point i did not even listen to the rest of album(would later prove to be a mistake) then MOP dropped and i loved it instantly so i thought well maybe i did not give ride the lightening a fair shake. loved that album from then on after i listened to fade to black i was hooked on this band.
This is really good. I might have to buy this album when it comes. I stopped listening after Load came out. Not a fan of St. Anger or anything. But this is absolutely fuckin great. It's about time.
As the opener I'm hearing aspects of Hardwired and Spit out the Bone, which ties in nicely. Plenty of new elements and I think Kirk's leads, the main solo and the double lead with James was really cool!
after the solo that 3rd quarter of the song should have been different riff breakdowns. the riffs are ok, but 8+ minutes of them and the same vocal patterns starts to really grind on headphones. Metallica falling into their post reload trap again, really long songs same riff. remember how you structured Sanitarium.
6/10. Ok song. I'm not very impressed. It's up-tempo, it has got classic riffs, but I can't hear any real surprises. No offence to die hard fans or new fans who like this, but despite of some key changes it sounds quite monotone to me. Also the first solo, a lot of wah wah, but where is the surprise?
Not bad for men approaching 60. It's better than Load and Reload for sure, but that wouldn't take much. The riffs are rather heavy metal 101. Pretty straight-forward and a little stock (as Lars would say). Metallica could record themselves farting in a wind tunnel and millions of people would think it's amazing.
This is gonna be an 80 minute album that could have been 50 isn’t it? Don’t get me wrong I love me a long juicy 9 minute Metallica song but this one and Darkness seem to be way drawn out. Not enough riffs and solos to justify the length. IMO of course.

Have to say, probably my favorite single of four released! Great riffs & transitions, solid tune overall!
Great thrashy song. Favourite of the four so far
James sounds better than ever, a smashing song indeed.
there is something really special about all of them so
such a heavy rockin' record

I agree completely.
Nice catch! 🔥 🔥
@@yup1579 yea sorta what i thought this is closer to hardwired then AJFA. but i could be missing something
Agreed!
@@dvvaughn564 the sound definitely is Hardwired but I mean the layout of the songs more specifically

Agreed. Most of their recent stuff just has too much fat not trimmed. For an 8 min song, its solid.
Kirk sure loves his Wah pedal. Seems he uses it on every solo these days.
My favorite of the four, but the tom tom section left me flat.

Hell yeah. Threw 72 different seasonings in the omlet!
That's Metallica, need to listen few times before judge it
james a a heavy metal vocalist his enunciating or speaking clearly gotten much better and that goes the same for everyone else in the band too
Love it so much
And also You can react to the curents new song.
METALLICA RULES!

@@vincegedeon6583 you like this better than Spit out the Bone?!
They’re still putting out great albums almost half a century into their careers. That’s hilarious. 😂
I don't think it's funny.
I think it's fucking awesome!
@@TheFLOMAN76 So awesome it makes me laugh.
True though. They’re still killing it. You most have lackluster taste in music or you’re just a bandwagon hater. How sad for you
What about the rest of their poor albums ? Overrated band
