    I just got a Clean AF 2002 Civic SI hatchback from somebody for under 2,000 bucks with this exact same issue and he thought it was a blown motor...
    We are about to fix it this weekend and celebrate the catch.🔥

      @@DIYAUTOCAR HEEELLLPPP!!!! If you know the answer that would be awesome. I'm trying to replace the starter in my 05 Civic SI. Came into a road block when the I got everything loose and then when I went to pull the manifold off, it appears the tensioner pulley assembly is in the way. Do I need to loosen that, if so how? Or is there a trick to not having to do that, please tell me there is.

      I've never actually replaced the starter on this. I do have another video on removing the tensioner assembly. ua-cam.com/video/MDAR3XOlFEM/v-deo.html

    I don’t have a 14 mm for my tensioner pully I have a 17 and it’s not long it’s short so I can’t even get the belt back on

      Might have to go rent a serpentine belt tool from your local chain parts store if you can't just double it up like I did in the video.

      No problem. Yeah, it's been holding up just fine. No issues.

      @@DIYAUTOCAR Noticed you didn't torque the tensioner to proper specs.... It's definitely a tight space for a torque wrench

      @@s9vide0z Yeah, I didn't really have room. I just went with snug and it's been fine.

    Does it matter what side of the Idley pulley is put on?

    • @DIYAUTOCAR
      @DIYAUTOCAR  2 роки тому +1

      Yes, it does. If you get it backwards part of the belt will end up on top of the edge of the pulley.

      You could also just pay attention before removing the old one.
