The child being stuck in a weird long tiny room while the parents have huge bathroom is hilarious
Honestly as I'm watching her do the roof, I was kinda hoping that kid got a balcony. I feel like that would even out the score and give that kid more space.
Yeah, but if i was a gid and i had long room.. oh my
I was soo hoping she would use an archway to add another room onto the kids room bc thats so funny lol poor kid
Funny but also realistic 😂
Right!@kait4824 when she got that last room size she scraped, I thought that would be a nice add on to the kids room.
As someone who literally has no idea how to build roofs in the sims I’d say you did a fantastic job making it look normal! At first glance I probably wouldn’t even notice the house had such a weird layout LOL
i think i've seen her show something like this on her channel for a "shell" challenge, and it seems really interesting
She always acts like it’s horrible and it’s amazing 😂
I thought I was the only one-
Lłkikim
I was thinking the same thing.
"Oh, this room's perfect for like a linen closet or something!"
Kayla: CAT ROOM
I was thinking maybe a mud room for that 3 by 1 space.
I yelled out mud room!!!
“Oh it’d be a perfect porch / entrance area!”
💀
Half bathroom!
Literally
Kayla “struggling” with the roofing and doing a better job than I could do on a normal house. I’m impressed, yet again, kayak!
Same. I never know what I’m doing with roofs
Same-
gods she complains about how it looks awful and here I am like 'you still hadn't seen my houses lmao'
lol ikr same
@@aniagie8141 Yess has Kayak done a roofing tutorial on her channel? If so I want to see it lol
I think the way to tweak this to make it more reasonable would be to decide how many rooms you want, generate the numbers and lay all the boxes out on the lot and then try to fit them together before doing any furnishing.
honestly the way she did it is very fun because you don't know what the house will look like until the very end lmao
That's like a combo of two challenges. Jigsaw and RNG. I like it. I'm gonna try it.
@@karlleftu4dead296 what is RNG?
@@anniexx6645 Random number generator (RNG)
That’s what I thought she was gonna do. Get all the boxes out then decide how to arrange them and make a nice house.
Loved this challenge. Would love to see you try "every room is the same size", so you have to choose a size of room (like 4x4 for example) and make everything that size. Bedrooms, kitchen, bathrooms...
Sounds like absolute hell. I love it 💯
Brb stealing this
Sounds like a fun challenge!
I did this with my friend-
First time we got 3 x 1…had to respin lol
Second time we got 8 x 7…
Bathrooms were fun lol we ended up doing like a fancy sink island thing with a tub, shower, toilet, and like a counter space/vanity separated by half walls
@@edits_betterthanrevenge I love that, makes me think of Cary and Connie's 8x12 house lmao
kayla in every video: "I don't know what style I'm going for!"
*ends up building a blue/green/white suburban*
So true hahaaaa
hey! sometimes its a blueish-purple!!!
With 90’s interior 😩
@@coolcatalesha this comment made me laugh
and pink in a lot but only some!
The fact that you were still able to roof this and make it look good is insane. I would combust trying to do this.
Honestly this is most realistic house I've ever seen in the sims. Every house I've ever lived in has had weird dividing walls, skinny weird rooms, strange roofing, and just... odd layouts in general. I love it a lot.
I thought that too! My house makes no sense there's a long skinny bedroom up in the attic next to an octagonal bedroom both with huuuuge long skinny closets, then downstairs on the second floor there's 2 normal decent sized square rooms, a skinny L shaped room with a ling skinny closet, and then a short skinny bedroom but it has the biggest closet in the house 😂 this just really reminds me of that
@@SmallSnailMarie literally, my dorm was add to the house later so i have a f@king window that go to my sister dorm lol. We had to cover it up with paper to have privacy.
That’s what I was saying! Like this house is definitely realistic, I could just imagine that the first floor was the og ranch style house and then they added on a second floor for more bedrooms
I would have made that long awkward bedroom a play room, that leads into a kids bedroom. I would have also made that 1x3 room downstairs (cat room) into a mudroom, so there was an entrance to the backyard.
Yeah! Had a similiar idea. I tought of maybe putting an arch between the two long weird rooms- creating a bigger hallway? I think I will try this challenge
OMG I also thought of a mudroom. I was thinking of making the kid's room an extension of the hallway using an arch so it could lead to more bedrooms
yeah me too........ Kayla has never been to a house I think /j
Perfect!
I was also thinking about that omg
idk, but those challenges are SO MUCH FUN to watch!
Love it how she made it "rule" to not change room plan. I would've done it like randomized room sized for every room and then made it puzzle to make an floor plan with them and then choose which room is which
id honestly love to see a video of kayla renovating builds she made from challenges, like these where she’s allowed to do whatever she wants
me too ! we know she loves renovations so it would be fun !
I was hoping the kids room would be a Jack and Jill Bathroom. The laundry in the bathroom and the roofing was pure genius.
I was like yelling at the screen to turn it into a little office nook lol. Would’ve been perfect to add that last room as the kids room.
I really like the way her videos are made like it all flows, there's no " HEY GUYS" or "I GONNA START NOW" she just does it and makes conversation and it keeps you interested
I definitely think a renovation of this would be cool! Also a more evil version of this challenge where once you place and furnish a room you can't change it would be hilarious and painful
Been thinking about this challenge, I don’t know if it already exists tho-
Multi challenge Challenge where each room follows a random challenge, like each room is randomized with a price, style, and size for example! I think it’d be really chaotic
i love the idea
Plumbella did this! It was indeed very chaotic, would love to see Simsie try it tho.
@@binkin7304 do you have the link to this video because I don't think I've watched it before
@@kaylajaftha9908 I think it was called "every room is a different challenge challenge"
Edit: it's the "each room is a different challenge... challenge"
@@sdd1396 thank you
for the upstairs hallway issue, i would've made the first 'hallway' into a landing, turned the kid's room into a proper hallway, and had an archway instead of a door connecting them together, i think that would look pretty cool
I was thinking the exact same thing!! :D
It’s funny how her “bad” house is something that I would be genuinely proud of 😂
This was so fun! I’d love to watch a renovation. This house has good bones! Probably needs a second floor expansion?
I also have a different build challenge for you: a legacy build challenge where you get 10 rooms, and each room is based on a different generation of a 10 gen challenge. It could be Not So Berry, since that is popular, so there would be a mint room based on the mint gen’s interests, rose based on rose, etc. But, I’d also love a Potts family build where each room is based on a different heir from the Potts legacy!
Challenge - Each room is a different challenge-challenge.
*Townie, colour, size, budget, pack etc.
1. Decide on what kind of room.
2. Spin the wheel. If you get size you'll have to spin another wheel with various size options. If you get on colour your spin a wheel with various colour options.
Good luck!
omg plumbella did it IT WAS SO FUN
@Life of us I’m just happy to spread the chaos - Good luck!!
i'm in love with the way the downstairs turned out! so yeah, i'm totally down for a reno of this one!
Build challenge idea: Since Kayla is starting the Not so Berry challenge what if she made builds based on the gens character not color (like for example mint gens a mischievous scientist)
I know
And! The sim has to be a different color lol
@@DukeOfCoolburg like for example mint or yellow.
@@yuhhbiscuit Yeah like Mint room CHERRY SIM
If she does this, I really hope she takes to the spirit of the challenge and builds in styles she usually doesn’t. The courtyard oasis kit and jungle adventure have some gorgeous mint swatches and I’d love to see a more adobe/Moroccan/South American styled house from her
It honestly looks really normal from the front. I'd love to see a renovation to help the other angles though.
Thank you for the inspiration, Kayla! I will be doing this challenge myself, with some changes. I think I’ll allow myself to rearrange the rooms how I want, as long as I’m not changing the size. That way, I’m only stuck with their dimensions, not where I place them.
I was thinking like the shell challenges where you generate each room then arrange them together into a Floorplan.
Would've made that final 6x4 a bedroom that's connected to the hallway via a cute lil balcony out front, have the bedroom placed next to the kids room and forward towards front of the house
For the record I thought the closet in the bathroom idea was brilliant.
I'd love to see a renovation for this build! has so much potential
i cannot express my love for build challenge videos.
Am i the only one that think the house looks actually really good? The interior and exterior look great to me! And I build mostly modern builds! Kayla, stop underestimating yourself!
Right!? I love it haha. The only thing that looks a little odd is the kid’s room upstairs but even that isn’t bad.
Ikr!? She's way too harsh to herself and honestly I would live in that house
Love the way Kayla goes through the five stages of grief in these challenge videos
yeeees i would love to see you renovate this! it’s weirdly really cute already, but if you renovated it i know it would be amazing!!
always so exiting when simsie posts
Ironically, the 1x6 could have been a bathroom; a toilet at one end, a sink at the other, and a discover university shower - which you *can* walk through somewhere else in the room. Then you have a long, skinny bathroom.
As could the 1x3. Sink, shower in middle, toilet on otherside - door in to room in front of shower.
I tried this challenge but I got a 8x2 for living room and I gave up 💀
I would’ve had a panic attack if that happened to me 😂
I used to have a bedroom in real life that was totally a 7 by 2 room so it doesn't even seem that weird to me. Italian houses are funky.
I think it actually looks good! The roofing is an art and you've mastered it.
Would love to see you "shell challenge" this -- renovate without changing the exterior walls!
You did amazing!
Roof Clipping tip
You can Shift click on the arrows of the roof and adjust 1 side and leave the other as is. Sometimes works but helps so much when the roof starts clipping and looks like a nightmare.
i actually think this is one of my favorite houses you have ever build minus the weird upstairs 😭
i love that with regular speed builds and such, youve been branching out to non-blue-suburbans but when its a stressful build challenge you revert to what youre comfortable with. so so valid
I would have absolutely quit. You did an AMAZING job Kayla!!! That roof turned out so well given the floor plan. Definitely renovate it for another video 🙂
I love how all of simsies videos feel like hanging out with someone on call. Like “do you mind if I…” it feels like we are having a full blown conversation 🫶
I love these build challenges. I’m tempted to try this.
Kayla this looks SO CUTE stop doubting yourself, for a random room build you did amazing.
Kayla continuously saying how bad it is and this looks like the best build I could make 😂
the fact that it looks so normal and so good at the end is wild. but a renovation video of this house would be so fun!!
Me's mind: This has got to be so easy
Me actually trying it: UM ACTUALLY I MAY BE HAVING SECOND THOUGHTS-
Me to my friends: Yeah it was a breeze
Moral: Don't try hard things and you won't end up lying
this kind of chalence really depends on the dice roll.
also I would maybe remove the 1 on the random or add 1 to the top of the random and remove 1 size if its over 3 so that you have less chance to roll 1.
8:09 I’m cackling! You don’t expect to hear that in a lilsimsie video! 😂
This is cool challenge but let’s be honest… nothing can beat the Bob Pancakes shrine room 😏😆😌
Very true. That was simply *legendary*
the roofing is absolutely FANTASTIC, it makes the house 100% playable!
I love how Kayla does her sponsorships! They make me so interested. I love to play Redecor because of her!
hi simsie! I just wanted to let you know that I used to watch you in 7th grade homeroom and now I'm a senior in high school. It's so fun to see you grow up!
I dreamt about a sims challenge last night: each room is a different aspiration. Would love to see you do something like this 💞
this is cool, it reminds me of a late 80's early 90's style build with the huge bathrooms and the style of the exterior
This was super fun to watch! As someone who has been trying to do more build challenges, I would love to see more of this one.
i wasn't expecting the long bathroom to end up looking good, but laundry day really saved it. I would've used that room for a small kitchen. it's pretty common to have a galley kitchen, a corner kitchen or just a small version of what you made. I also would have utilized spandrels with the other long room to make the upstairs hallway bigger and then used the bigger rooms for bedrooms. You could also utilize divider items with moveobjects on instead of walls and halfwalls and fancy fences to break up rooms.
Reasons I immediately downloaded Switchcraft:
☆ I love match 3 games.
☆ I love story driven games.
☆ I'm a Witch.
☆ I support Kayla.
Great recommendation!
Just finished the video and I already wanna see Simsie do it again, the chaos is just too much
Yes please ! Do a renovation of this house please ! It looks really good, Kayla stop criticizing that much your builds !
I love the game Switchcraft, it’s nice to see people getting sponsors from it!
You should've put a pet door into the cat room and a self cleaning litter box for more space.
I totally want to try this but I think I'm gonna modify the challenge and give myself a 2 tile min to make it a bit easier, and also allow myself to use any weird void spaces as outdoor patios/balconies. Thank you for making this simsie it was so fun to watch!!! I love how you came up with the cat room idea.
omg i LOVE switchcraft! the art is gorgeous and the gameplay is super fun
That is seriously the best kitchen/dining nook i've seen on the sims. I wish default houses were furnished like this! it feels so normal and pretty!!!
You are a master builder. The roofing was fantastic!! I think this random generator for room size would be a lot of fun for an intense shell challenge.
you are my comfort channel simsie, thank you
Somebody said something like this already but you really are so good at roofing! It's always one of the parts I struggle to make look nice the most but yours always look realistic!
I just started playing Sims 4 when it went free and your stuff has been so inspirational for me! Keep it up!
I really like this version of the challenge, it’s probably one of my favourite alterations tbh. You did great! :D
Nooo this turned out so good, Kayla!!! I love it wow.
This was really fun to watch. I would love for you to do this challenge again!
Bro , why do you think this is bad , this is amazing honestly. And the roofing is so nice!
I LOVE it!! Honestly an amazing house, would 107% use this. The only, and I mean only thing I personally dislike is that little nook around where the staircase is. And for such a hard challenge, that's mad impressive! Although I could just be saying this because I suck at making houses, I still think that you totally nailed it!
I LOOOOOOOOVE these types of challenges so much! This one especially is best, at least for me. You did an amazing job!! I would like to see more of this content
I loved this, would love to see you do this again! Also, I saw someone on tiktok do all of the challenges combined (ie. generate a colour, budget and size for each room) Would love to see you do that!!!!
honestly this is one of the most interesting houses you've built in a while, good job Kayla!!
Can you make up a new sims 4 challenge of 10 generations with different things to accomplish throughout the sims' lives?
Kayla bringing all us joy with these daily uploads
Tbh, I think this is the most realistic house I ever seen built in the sims. A bunch of weird rooms that make no sense so we just shove furniture inside and hope for the best. Good job, all of the houses I lived on feel represented now.
with those tiny 1x(1-4) rooms, i love turning it into a linen closet with the washing machines, vaccums, clutter- its a good use of space & it feels homey to me
Each room themed on a career or skill? Like a writer's library, or a baker's kitchen? Perhaps randomised the room as well? Get a candlemaker's bathroom or a gardener's entryway.
This randomizer idea sounds like an evil good idea for a shell challenge!! You make a shell with randomized room sizes to post for the challenge. :)
YESSS I missed the "each room is a different ____" videos! You do it so well, it is one of my favorite types of your videos! also I feel like for what the challenge is, the house actually looks really good and is perfectly functional
You should do another one of these, BUT MAKE IT A SHELL CHALLENGE 🤩
I love this idea
I love the downstairs of this house, I'd love to see you come back to it and remodel it a bit!
I would love to see you give this home a reno!
I think that is such a fun idea
I actually like how the house turned out and how the layout isn’t like a typical house I think that makes it perfect for the sims!!
Love your videos ❤
It's actually beautiful I love it
Imagine having a long skinny bedroom while your parents have a normal sized bedroom and a fancy on suite bathroom 😭
tbh you made it work really well. the upstairs isn't that terrible! the kid's bedroom could have been an attic that has been renovated when the family expanded!
omg it's actually turned out really good!
I literally instantly thought "CLOSET" at the 3/1 room XD But love the cat room more
This house is unironcally cute and I want to play in it. You should do bigger bathrooms more often :-)
When she did the 7×2 bedroom for the kids my brain was like screaming at her to make it a hallway extension to the stairway 😭 like putting in an arch and using it as a hallway to put doors in to other rooms 11:07
I just started playing this challenge and I added one more challenge to this. First I used random number generation to choose me the number of rooms in that house, 10 (settings in random number generations were 4-12 for number of rooms). Made it harder for sure, as few last rooms were huge and I had to add upstairs and basement and only smaller rooms were 2x2 and 1x2 so those are bathrooms now in a house with huge 6x6 and 6x7 bedrooms :D
I really believe this pushed you out of your normal every day floor plan and I personally really liked that!
the cat room would’ve been a perfect laundry room/nook but i loveee the cat room!!!
