I've been using a tweaked version of Astia lately and really like it. I've been trying to emulate Kodachrome by looking at some of my old slides and doing some research. When film photographers were panicking about the demise of Kodachrome they started searching for what looked the most similar. Ironically they thought Provia 100F was the closest match...or push processing Astia to increase contrast and saturation. They were of course using actual film stock, not sure how the Fuji film sims would replicate it. But Astia with slightly boosted color saturation and increased contrast looks WAY closer to Kodachrome than the Classic Chrome film sim does.
Yes a tough choice. I love both but I use Astia way more in my LR workflow.
I find myself editing 95% within the camera via raw conversions. Nice video and I also preferred those which you did. WIll watch for the episodes with Bill. Hope you get some good content as well as involvement.
Thanks Tobias same here looking forward to it.
Yet to use a fujifilm camera. Interesting video Kirk. Always love the content. Cheers
Thanks Colin! Finding new ideas has been tough lately. I need to do more Leica work
@@KirkWilliamsonphotography I think your area is absolutely off the charts stunning. I'd love to see more of the area there. When I DO get there lets do a video together.
I think the second picture (leaf photo) looked better in the Adobe Lightroom Classic.
I was torn between the two.
Great comparison! I’m generally leaning towards the X Raw results.. they seem slightly more vibrant throughout. Question about sharpness.. isn’t any setting over -4 *adding* sharpness? Perhaps I’m mistaken but my understanding is -4 equals no processing (i.e. equivalent to zero in other brands)
Randy you may be right. I’ll have to investigate that. I always thought + meant you were adding sharpness.
Hi there. Interesting video. Quick question: what camera did you use to take these images with? Thanks!
Fuji X-T5
Thank you!@@KirkWilliamsonphotography
