We visit the outer Hebrides at least once or twice a year. The scenery is breathtaking and the wildlife is amazing. Great to see your enthusiasm for the islands, be careful tho, they'll steal your heart.
Dan, I absolutely love that you take us into the field. Your enthusiasm is infectious! I’m fairly new, so it would be helpful for me to see your exposures. I’m always try to learn. I do appreciate you sharing your knowledge on the wildlife subjects! Great stuff! Thanks!!
Thanks very much I really appreciate that. I’ll start popping the settings onto the videos moving forward. This Sunday’s video is already uploaded but I’ll include them after that. All the very best 👍🏻
Another great vid Dan - loved your enthusiasm. We did Lewis and Harris this year, had a week in a cottage, and super easy to get out and about from that one base. We saw eagles every single day on Lewis / Harris - seems to be a great strong hold for them. Can't wait to see the rest of your Scottish adventures 👍
Dan another brilliant film - your joy and enthusiasm when you saw the Eagles makes me want to dump work and head up to the islands - thank you for sharing your ‘moments’ with us
I commented on your upload of the peregrine falcons in bristol. I mentioned I was moving to the Outer Hebrides. I've lived here since the start of August. It's an absolutely incredibly place eh. Me and the mrs regularly go for drives all over the island with the camera looking for wildlife. The sunsets here can be breathtaking, pure magic. This island is special. Looking forward to part 3 pal
That was awesome! Such a great trip. I take a lot of pictures from my vehicle like that. They don't seem to mind so much. Thanks for sharing your great adventure with me!
Hi Dan, great video once again, reminds me of my trip to Lewis and Harris several years back when we found a pair of nesting Golden Eagles on a cliff not far from the road. A fantastic sight. The western isles are a fabulous group of islands with such amazing views and diversity of wildlife. I look forward to what you find next. Thanks again for such entertaining videos. Regards Andy
Yet another fantastic video Dan. 6 white tails at the one time is utterly incredible - probably all this year's youngsters who've been kicked out by the adults and are hanging about in a gang before dispersing off to find their own territories. Got to get myself back up there soon. Thanks for all the hard work you put into these.
Hreat video again Dan. Seeing your excitment of seeing the eagles reminded me of how I felt when we first drove through glencoe on our honeymoon going on day out to Loch Ness. Many of my dreams came true that year. Getting married to my soul mate, seeing glencoe, staying at Loch Earnhead in Loch Lomond, seeing Golden eagles flying overhead and waking up to a magnificent view every morning. Then 2 years later coming upclose and personal to a white tailed fish eagle and then Orla, the beautiful golden eagle at Loch Lomond Bird of prey centre, best experiences ever. Now I want to go to Harris and Lewis, but want to visit Skye first on the way
Wow they are some incredible memories Heather, I’m glad that the video brought those back to you. Thanks for sharing them with me. All the very best 👍🏻
Superb Dan! I have only visited the Western Isles once many years ago but your video brought back some memories, not least the stunning beaches of Harris (especially Luskentyre) 🙂 I think you got a bit excited there with your “flock” of eagles 😂and your lapse into addressing us all as "guys" 😂 I can’t be sure from your footage but you may possibly have had both White-tailed Eagles and Golden Eagles. It certainly wasn’t a single family group of 2 adults and 4 juveniles since eagles usually only have 1 or 2 young. Harris is a stronghold for both eagle species like Mull although the latter is much quicker and cheaper to reach! Where is part 3? …. we are all "eagerly" waiting! .... sorry 😂
Thanks very much Richard I’m really pleased that the video brought back some memories. The excitement was definitely at a high and I’m sure I miss ID’d the birds. Next video is out with Rob Howard and he gives me some advice on eagle ID, so I hope you enjoy that one. All the best mate 👍🏻
That was just superb Dan, always love your tour videos. Having been to Mull always wanted to explore Lewis and Harris and your video has made it a must and it was only day 1! Fantastic stuff. 👍👍
Great video Dan. Some great wildlife and that beach at the beginning...I live on a tropical island and it looked like the breeches here.. Surprised to see it in the U.K. Well done mate👍
Hello Dan, Super interesting as I am going up to Harris soon. My first time there too. Was thinking of just doing landscapes/seascapes using my X2D and not taking any of me Nikon kit. But now I will have to take both. Just more to take :(.
Wow. How lucky are you. We were on the outer Hebrides a few years ago and hardly saw any wildlife. So great though when it happens. Going to Mull next week in search of otters. Any suggestions on where to go?
I'm up there next week too. Those of us who know of otter "hotspots" are bound by an informal code not to reveal therm publicly to avoid too many people congregating at them but there are otters around almost all of the island's coastline so chose your vantage point and wait, and wait and wait, taking in the golden and white tailed eagles as you do.
Thanks very much I really appreciate it. If you are going to Mull I would thoroughly recommend looking at booking to go out with Brian Boyes, link below bjbimages.co.uk His knowledge of the island and where to find otters is second to none 👍🏻
Hi Dan! When we were on Skye a number of years ago, I saw 7 Golden Eagles in the air all at once! We were told that they were Juveniles that'd be kicked out of the nest by the adults and were just hanging around together before they headed off to find their own territories. Safety in numbers I suppose. They're a sight to behold though, aren't they?
Never been to Lewis and Harris. What was the name of the campsite you went to when you got off the ferry? The colour of the sea and sand, just beautiful. 6 eagles!! We've never seen one! You're selling Lewis and Harris, that's for sure. Oh wow, deer as well. You are being spoilt.
I can thoroughly recommend the islands it is absolutely amazing. The campsite we stayed on in Harris is called Seilebost School and you book it through the West Harris trust. It was a fantastic site right on the most beautiful beach on the island. All the best 👍🏻
I hate this video. Absolutely despise it. And let me tell you why. It’s made me reallse that I say “guys” a lot when I’m doing any camera stuff and I too hate it when other people do it. So that’s my reason. 😂😂 I mean, how could I dislike the rest of this - it’s another absolute gem of a video mate. Best compliment I can give you is that you make us feel like we’re there with you. Just brilliant…! 10 crocs out of 10 mate.

Great video ....not too jealous yet....we only seen 3 white tailed eagles in 11 days there in May at about the same distance...would disagree that you need a camper van...we got a cottage just over the lewis border and could reach anywhere with in 90 minutes
Glad to see Harris again. I went there 2 years ago and will probably go back in 2 years. Thanks for sharing, especially the Black-throad loon.
Thanks very much mate, really appreciate it mate 👍🏻
Excellent sightings Dan, nice to see the red deer in the wild and great scenic stills of the birds.
Thanks very much Rob, really appreciate it 👍🏻

Hi Dan, it would be a Loch that the divers were on as only one lake in Scotland, the Lake of Menteith in the Stirling area. Great video by the way 👍
Thanks very much mate and thanks for the clarification on lochs and lakes, appreciate it.
