@@mykulpierce Which is funny that Blizzard got to this point since there's been countless of MMOs that died or are dying for this exact reason. It really shows that Blizzard has been out of touch with the entire MMO market. They literally had to just look at any top 10 mmo list and one of the year prior to that and ask themselves what causes that certain MMO to drop from that list. 9/10 times its unnecessary grind, p2w shops, or making it so easy to catch up for new players that the best way to play the game is to just not play it and wait for idiots to spend 20 hours of their day grinding every so you can get it for free a month later. And the worst one of all is changing the difficulty of dungeons for newer players so it becomes more brain dead and unfun for experienced players to even bother helping out newer players

Nah mate, they get billions a year and they still pulled this shit. Fuck these pieces of shit, a civil suit should be filed and refunds issued for time wasted
It's crazy how they use it as an excuse. Most digital agencies and companies that deal with digital products actually notified an improvement in work quality and velocity (how much work devs can produce in a given timeframe). It's not like they are producing physical products, there are ways of working online, collaborating and brainstorming. I've been working remotely since march last year and it's all good - not planning on going back to the office any soon.
Working from home is fantastic as a software developer. You can set up your own space, work in your own time, and you don't have people walking by constantly pestering you. In addition, its easier to get better setups at home, when we remote last March I was finally able to go from a laptop and a single monitor to a full 3 monitor setup. Working from home is not an excuse if you're an even semi-competent developer.
Quitting wow is like leaving a toxic relationship: it's hard because of all the time and effort, and how comfortable it was. But in the end, it is so much more healthy to end it, and look to the future. I think it's absolutely valid to be sad, or upset, or cry about this. This was a real and important part of his (and other players) lives. That is a hard thing to have to do.
I still cant. Literally years of my life in minutes played. I literally love my toons. I have to believe they all die in a fire, and then we get a proper management team.
There are those that are invested and can still walk away. For me walking away made it easier when i reached Loremaster - of all expacks. Done. Now i can walk. I am not going to get abused by a developer whose sole intent is to make me waste my time waiting for things ingame. RNG, no instant FP, wait to craft, wait in que. Wait to raid. Wait for this. Wait for that. Too much waiting. Not enough playing. TOO many systems in place designed to make you wait. Yeah. I dont need that.

Even in Retail i was collecting mounts, doing Mythic+, farming old Raids, getting transmog and especially those juicy druid forms and leveling the allied races for their set+mount theres lots of things in the game to do, maybe not for current expansion but outside of that is lots to do. its 1 thing if asmongold who has almost every mount, did every raid tier, owns a collection of chars and transmog etc say the game is boring but 95% of all other have none of that
"Why is this fun?" that is a question the dev's have failed to ask each other as they consistently create systems designed to force you to play. Without creating a game that makes you want to play because its just fun.
exactly the reason why i stopped in legion. people can say about WoD what they want. i loved that addon. you could do many things without having to spend half your day in the game
It is what happens when you promise devs the world then mid-production say "finish it up". 90% of what WOULD have been fun - is cut... which includes all synergies and "quality of life" parts. It is a problem with the AAA industry, which have only the shareholders profits in mind... If you want good games - support indie developers!
Great question. It kinda feels like you are forced to log on instead of wanting to log on to complete weekly or daily quests to keep endless grind of rep or you get left behind

There was absolutely the meta mindset. You just weren't quick enough to catch up to them. WoW Classic was also infested with the mentality from the start and it never left.

@@archnemesis0513 So true. After BC the lore started to lose the plot too, and they just kept squandering the lore more and more over time. The details of this situation are especially damning though. They shared photos of her naked in public at a holiday party and faced no consequences. Physical sexual harassment (groping, menacing advances, jabbing) seems to be happening on a mass scale too. I played since Vanilla. I took a 2 year break right before Legion, and came back last year. I regret it because I absolutely loved running Legion, but as someone running it a first time, it was disappointing to see stuff like Legendary items with effects deactivated and pretty much useless. Just seemed pointless to run for gear, even though it was fun to quest through the zones. They realize they fucked up something and instead of fixing it, nah, let's just get rid of it. And they keep repeating it. So many missed opportunities.
for me it started with cataclysm had a retribution paladin lvl 43 trouble with lvl 46 elite mobs before the patch that applied cataclysm. after that patch i logged in was the same place but 3 of the 46 elite mobs aggro me and i slay them in under 5 minutes. raged quit at that moment

The thing with the percentage nerfs hits me so hard, look at League of Legends fine tuning, and especially look at the Cryteks video called Hunt Showdown, the patch changes, in test and live, are so miniscule but have a great impact. The changes in there are at most difference by 2-4% differences. That is fine tuning. Going into a system and be like "Here, 50%, go bash skulls" isn't.

It's actually better working from home, less middle management breathing down your neck
I work in software development, we are in 100% home office for 14 months now. Only improvements throughout.

When I quit playing WoW 4-5 years ago, I just accepted that the game was no longer for me. It was difficult but I did it without any real hard feelings toward Blizzard and so I still continued to enjoy their other games. As time went on however it became increasingly obvious that Blizzard devs think themselves superior to their fans and player base. They believed that it was up to them to tell us what we want and that actually listening to players was beneath them. And so about 2 years ago I decided enough was enough and just boycotted Blizz/Activision altogether. You want to believe yourselves superior to me Blizz? Well you can do it without my money.
