Another one of my childhood SNES games. I played it a lot as a little kid and i was really good at it! I beated it multiple times! And i didn't thought it was that difficult either. Years later i learn that this game is absolute pain to beat for most people, saying that they can't even get past level 2. Well, i'm proud of myself for beating such an excellent yet difficult game at a very young age! But nowadays my gaming skill is not that good in comparison, since i struggle a lot more with challenging games today. Oh well...
The makers of this game admitted that was intentional. A lot of NES/SNES games did it. The idea was that by making it as hard as possible to rent and beat in a weekend, you're more likely to buy a copy new. It's all business.
Ngl I played this game as a kid, and I'm just thankful I never bought the game on SNES. The soundtrack and sound effects are so much better on Sega, although, Simba meowing like a cat will never not be funny.
When Simba loses a life the screen turns black playing some depressed music in the background showing cub Simba doing a silly little stumble while he's looking all dazed out trying to stand up before collapsed. On levels with adult Simba will just roll over the side unconscious. The game over screen shows Rafiki looking depressed with some tribal music playing in the background until the player decides to continue playing when says "The King Has Returned" while smiling.
Me and my brother beat this game after trying many times.. In beginning it was hard but after learning how to control simba movements we were able to finish it the most difficult part was how to beat scar and my brother by coincidence throu scar from the cliff and that it.. This before we watched the movie show and after watching the movie we saw simba winning his battle against scar by the same way.. We discovered the way to beat scar by ourselves.. Now if anyone watch the movie he will get a good idea about how to play this game..
Huh so the game did gome out before the movie...I read the game/movie was released in the sane year, but I was puzzles like huh? How could they push out a game so fast after the movie without knowing its success but the lilo stirch game ps2 game also came out like a day before the film? If I'm right
Surprisingly enough I did a Long play of this video game too on my channel yes it is a hard game but if you put time into it and remember the patterns it actually can be pretty easy
The Snes version has a beautiful soundtrack but I think the game controls much nicer on Genesis, also the difficulty is ramped too high on the Snes game
The DOS version was harder. The energy meter less than the SNES version even if you pick up the blue bug which had to be increase the life meter to 25%. But nothing. This true to the roar meter. Nothing changes. Disney fuck up the Dos port. The Snes superior and so much better:)

It's the abundance of instant death hazards most present in Level 2 that turns most people off. Along with the trial and error monkey puzzles.
