Don't you supposed to use historic pronouns.
If someone changes from she to they pronouns in 2021 aren't you supposed to use she when referring to pre coming out.

      Odd.
The person I know (a friend of mine who is non binary) considers their coming out as a rebirth and uses their old pronouns pre coming out and to refer to their pre out self and they pronouns to refer to themself pre out.

@@naraiceylob that's really interesting. I think most people (speaking as a trans person) prefer that you us their current name and pronouns for their past self as well. Like, I didn't change my gender from female to male, I've been a guy the whole time its just that no one knew that at the start. So when I was little I was still a boy even tho I wasn't out, so still use he/him when talking about baby me, even tho people at the time were using she/her

Another factor with some of these ladies is pregnancy. Kelly was pregnant in some of the clips which has a massive impact on one's voice. Christina has had kids also. Your voice can be drastically different during and after pregnancy because....hormones. Also having a literal human inside you screwing with your ability to breathe and permanently changing the shape of your body.
My university voice teacher was a mezzo-soprano. She told me that during one of her pregnancies she was singing soprano roles, and during the other she was singing alto. Her range completely changed because of the hormones and everything going on with her body.

    • @rachaeltrujillo9960
      @rachaeltrujillo9960 2 роки тому +4

True. Many women experience a drop in voice during pregnancy. Plus the pressure on your lungs, diaphragm and other organs and weight gain or loss just changes so much. Also I’ve heard some women experience nasal congestion to the extreme because of hormonal weirdness. All of that can change your vocal quality and abilities.

Kelly is not done justice in this video. As far as 2021 goes, she‘s vocally her healthiest and best she‘s ever been as one of the best vocalists of our generation, seriously. She has hit multiple healthy G5‘s in 2021, it‘s a little frustrating to see these compilations when in that 2015 clip she was pregnant (she literally said she had to vomit every 20 minutes so her voice and body were completely worn out) and as far as the 2019 clip goes, she said she lowers the keys on tour because it‘s healthier and she probably cannot hit those notes consistently and healthily night after night. please react to some kellyokes of her or some compilation that actually does her incredible vocals justice!

Both legendary vocalists who needed to have surgery. Unfortunately, Julie’s surgery caused her to lose her ability to sing (now when she sings it’s her talking voice with a rhythm and a bit of melody). Adele’s surgery went well, but she definitely has had to change her approach on her vocal technique. Would love to see a further analysis on this!

I love your channel, Hannah! I'm a singer (not professional) and took voice lessons for 10 years. Mostly in musical theatre. I had to stop due to chronic illnesses, but I've tried to build my stamina back up to be able to sing how I used to. I'm working on it and also just adapting! Your videos are really helpful since I'm taking voice lessons anymore. I still do lots of vocal warmups before I sing and hope to have more videos on here and instagram one day!!

Venue size/acoustics, and purposeful stylistic choices come into play as well. I get it that people want the songs to sound nearly exactly like they do on an album, but it’s never going to do that-unless you’re Steve Perry, aka The Voice. ;-) (Separate Ways, Tokyo, 1983 would be a fun reaction vid.) Anyway, we can tell with Leona’s “dodge” that this is actually a pre-planned calm-down moment- the band does it as well. Concerts need to have highs and lows, and when you have someone like these incredible belters, they have to change it up to keep things interesting. (And to protect their voices during long tours in front of a literal wall of sound.)
A small intimate venue like Kelly’s, or one that’s being recorded for TV/video, isn’t suited to those huge notes. It’s just going to bounce off the walls and have nowhere to go acoustically except to assault the ear drums. There’s a HUGE difference between singing for an arena tour, singing at an awards/TV show, and singing with a single guitarist on stage. The OG video doesn’t take that into consideration.
Love your videos. Lol, I cry at everything, too.

I think another thing about these examples is a lot of these is either pulling chest or avoiding the mix/head voice.
And sometimes it’s hard to always have perfect technique every performance so sometimes it’s hard to get a mix or a good high chest belt every time so it makes sense to either flip to head voice or avoid the note altogether.
And the amount of pressure pop singers have to sound as good as their studio version is crazy of course you’d rather avoid a note than get caught being flat/pitchy/crack.

Speaking of vocal fail, I don't know if you or your team read comment but
I'm considering buying the 'find your voice' course, what it offered sounded really nice. And so I was wondering if anyone could take it? I am not a singer and have no experience singing past school choire as a little kid. I also have memorisation issue when it comes to melody. Maybe a bit on the tone deaf side, I'm not quite sure?
But I thought being able to tell my head voice from my chest voice might be good start.

Being a BFA MT Major in college is really hard, plus being labeled as a “legit” singer can be really annoying! Your UA-cam videos and TikToks have helped to me strengthen my chest voice and mix and I finally feel like I can compete with other belters!

I think its a sign of a good vocalist when they can feel it in themselves that they might have to change things up. I do it all the time if I am struggling a bit or if I've been sick, once I had a horrible sinus infection and had to perform so I dropped things from my head voice into my chest because I knew if I tried head it wouldn't likely work and it would be painful with the pressure and I would risk my voice more. I also think its probably for the performer who does their own stuff constantly, they like to change it up sometimes or keep fans on their toes and give them something special.
I also don't see any issue with a performer having a backtrack that lets them lip some of the harder notes because its their own music anyway and you're there to support someone you love and to see a show, not a vocal range demonstration lol
