The problem here is that people are being triggerred - and feel like these artists are not talented because they're dodging notes, or falling flat - the thing is, they are falling flat or dodging not because of lack of talent, but because of lack of technique. Anyone here who sings can tell you - the more you force yourself into hitting the high note, the more likely it'll be strained. Relax into it, and it'll be easier - maybe not perfect - but it will rapidly improve. I can falsetto all the way up to an A5 - no reason these singers can't mix all the way to a G#5, other than poor training. Singing across your entire range is difficult.

Ariel Burrow some of them can hit the notes in a controlled setting (like the studio) or when they are younger, but then when they have aged or are bouncing around a stage it's harder to control your breathing and pitch.
Generally speaking an artist will have recorded the studio version after at least 6 months of rest post-tour from the previous album promotion, so their vocals have had plenty of rest and can therefore be pushed harder and higher. However once they've done the promotion for the new music, which is hundreds of shows, tv appearances and just talking in general, it's harder to reach those peak moments they hit in the studio with ease. Also as someone commented above, age has a lot to do with vocal ability. We just have to look at Mariah as a perfect example of a woman who had an amazing voice in her prime but as she's aged her voice just can't get there now, which is okay, it's only natural! Our bodies age, so it's only fitting our voices she too.

There's no reason to judge these people for lip syncing or not singing the high notes because by pushing your voice higher than it can go you can PERMANENTLY DAMAGE IT! I'm a choir and every single person in the choir is warned about this!

Phil S it's not a true rule of thumb across the board and that's the problem. With big labels and some smaller ones they push the artists to reach impossible standards but the voice, like any other muscle, will eventually give out. For some it happens early, but others, like Mariah, it took longer but in the end it will happen. It all depends on how much they were mistreating their voice in the first place.

I wouldn't say that. People should just know at a live show it is really hard to hit notes period. You are really not in the environment to do so. It's too loud, even with in-ears in, you'll never be able to hear yourself as well as you can in a studio recording. Studio is meant to be perfected, and you get to retry so that it's perfect. Also you're not moving around and getting out of breath like in a live performance. People just shouldn't expect so much out of a live performance because tbh the chances of it being perfect vocally are very slim.

Queen Keish You could search up some videos about strain, there are some really good examples that compare strain to the singer's healthy tone. Her strain was not very obvious, but it was lying somewhere under her tone. Even my throat hurt in sympathy pain listening to that.
If you know what posture supports your singing it is easy to tell when someone syncs, best example is Perrie, it's extremely hard to hit a note that high when bending over like the first clip and not tilt your head back, second clip she tilts her head back but still has a bad posture and last one where she hits it it's all on point.

GarageStudio true. Say what you want about Mariah's inconsistency in recent years but she didn't have as many vocal problems as these girls when she was their age. She was also a more creative singer. I try to give them the benefit of time since they're still young and learning but I have a feeling that most of them will go the way of Xtina, rather than Beyoncé. You have to take care of your instrument and take singing seriously if you want to blossom to your full potential and maintain it.

As a trained singer myself, I can tell you there is so little breathing room in heart attack that I’m surprised she’s able to perform it so well live.
There's no reason to judge these people for lip syncing or not singing the high notes because by pushing your voice higher than it can go you can PERMANENTLY DAMAGE IT! I'm a choir and every single person in the choir is warned about this!

Phil S it's not a true rule of thumb across the board and that's the problem. With big labels and some smaller ones they push the artists to reach impossible standards but the voice, like any other muscle, will eventually give out.
For some it happens early, but others, like Mariah, it took longer but in the end it will happen. It all depends on how much they were mistreating their voice in the first place.

I wouldn't say that. People should just know at a live show it is really hard to hit notes period. You are really not in the environment to do so. It's too loud, even with in-ears in, you'll never be able to hear yourself as well as you can in a studio recording. Studio is meant to be perfected, and you get to retry so that it's perfect. Also you're not moving around and getting out of breath like in a live performance. People just shouldn't expect so much out of a live performance because tbh the chances of it being perfect vocally are very slim.

If you know what posture supports your singing it is easy to tell when someone syncs, best example is Perrie, it's extremely hard to hit a note that high when bending over like the first clip and not tilt your head back, second clip she tilts her head back but still has a bad posture and last one where she hits it it's all on point.

UA-cam Passerby the human voice just can't do all things at all times. People have range that is most healthy for them to sing in and anything outside that will cause damage and inconsistency even if they hit those notes well. Singers with the most impressive voices in terms of range don't last that long.
