kinda off-topic but honestly if I had to “choose sides” I would be Team Joshua. They were probably both telling the truth in some ways but I feel like he’s just so much more genuine than she is and tbh he’s more talented too. I also feel like he handled the drivers license situation pretty well (Olivia didn’t even need to release those songs in the first place… but I get it, she needed an outlet and the song is pretty good but her fans are mostly to blame bc they’re pretty toxic) and I felt so bad about him being in the hospital because of it.

As someone in a very similar situation to Ricky, I totally see where he's coming from. It's SUPER difficult saying "I love you" when you barely hear it at home, even if it's with someone you've been with for a while
And love I'm with you on that... during ruckus scene with his dad I cried because it is so real for me... my parents have been divorced for 6 years
I also found it kinda not right for nini to pronounce her love for Ricky for the first time by posting it on Instagram before showing Ricky the video first and saying it to him privately. Seems like a bit of a private moment, especially the first time. But then only Ricky is really shown as the bad guy so what do I know

Please do Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist!! Such amazing performances, and the storyline in season 1 is both a love story and s stunning exploration of grief...all while being a musical. Seriously, you have to see it!!
Omg HANNAH you're coming in so hard on the poor boy... the show actually tackles legitimate reasons for Ricky's behaviour(if anything I'm still mad at his mum) and I promise he's genuinely a cutie, they both are... honestly the whole cast is just GREAT and multidimensional.

But Ricky at 15/16 having abandonment issues, commitment issues, and struggling with change and honest communication makes the MOST sense with how terribly his mum has handled their situation.

“Teenagers love theatre, all my theatre kids out here, right?” Indeed, I performed on stage till I was 18y, in my first play I had to have a baby on a field in the opening scene (I was 12y) then, at my final performance (18y) I was too close to the audience, forgot my lines and got stage fright ever since but hell yeah I love theatre (and musical theatre is one of my pleasures)

Same. They are soo good now! They are probably my favourites atm, although I’d say in season 1 for the most part those 2 were okay E.J was a little annoying and Gina got really good over season 1, but now as of season 2 they are getting soo much development and becoming some of the best characters in the show.

Ricky gets so much better, he's honestly one of my favorite characters on the show. Him, EJ, Gina, Carlos, and Seb are my favorites. Oh and Big Red. Basically I love everyone xD
He gets better but he also gets incredibly frustrating in season 2.
I was honestly so happy when episode 8 happened, even though it was sad it was for the best.

I love how they are really singing during the scenes in a lot of songs, like glee never did! And the characters are in the way to get better and make better decisions, they're teenagers, so of course they're gonna miss the ball, but I love, they can really get wrong and learn from it, BRING THE WHOLE SEASON, WE'RE GONNA LOVE IT

that’s a good point, but also he really should’ve communicated how he was feeling :( i really think if he’d said that that was scary for him or if he had expressed his boundaries then it would have been understandable, but he handled it so badly honestly

Ricky handled that whole thing terribly, but at the same time, I think Nini could have been a bit more understanding?
Yeah it´s awkward to say I love you to someone who doesn´t say it back.
But, they knew each other since kindergarten, they dated for a year. Surely she should know that he cares about her.
And she probably could be aware about his parents and his troubles to express stuff like that because of it.
I get why she was upset after how he proposed the "break" but I think she should have atleast tried to talk with him before jumping into the next relationship.

@@Beny763 disagree. Not even Ricky was aware about his parents' issues that much. How could Nini? She did nothing wrong. She felt hurt and unsupported, so she found someone that looked at her like a star and showed her love. Ricky decided he wanted to take time and come back whenever he wanted and figured a silly gesture of singing her song back to her would fix everything when he couldn't even sing the lyrics of the song with his chest. He needs to learn to communicate or focus on handling his trauma at home in a healthy way before putting Nini in the way of his own trainwreck.
