- In this wargaming terrain tutorial I am going to show you how I crafted my first building for the tabletop. This is a scatter terrain piece that can be used for tabletop games such as Dungeons & Dungeons, Frostgrave, Warhammer: Age of Sigmar or Mordheim. The first terrain building for this channel happen to be a log cabin, or log cottage. The style is slightly Nordic inspired and I did build it very much as you would do in real life. The material used for this terrain tutorial was mainly XPS foam and some foam core. I hope you like this wargaming terrain tutorial video as much as I enjoyed making it! I love that you actually "lincoln-logged" those walls. Building the foundation and hearth and chimney with tiny bricks like that was a great touch too, and there were so many wonderful details. Respect the bravery of that sod roof, it paid off! Such a glorious little house, your village is gonna be sooo good! :-)

if somebody ever installs flooring for you and you see that the seams line up at every other plank like that, you should fire them and get somebody who knows how to install flooring. usually those seams don't line up for at least 4 to 5 rows down for the sake of structural integrity (or in some cases the it will be installed in a way where none of them line up to give a more natural feel to them). love your vids! just thought I'd point out that minor detail

Looks nice :) It reminds me a log cabins from Witcher 3: Wild Hunt (from outside), and some cabins of trappers from this all western movies like Jeremiah Johnson or Hatefull Eight :)

Gelatinblad makes great windows no need to use gloves when useing that. Your a lilla edet pöjk thought youd go for a vasstak like the one on the motel/rasta.

Cabin looks amazing! Something to help breakup the same wood color, use a light tan on the ends of the logs for the center of the wood being a different color than the bark. Would help add a little variation and be more realistic at the same time

Nice build. I thought log cabins interlocked a little differently. Like they're half a log higher than the log theyre crossing. Great idea to incorporate a loft and ladder.

Just out of curiosity, are you just not interested in 3d printing?
I am very interested in 3d printing, both for miniatures and for terrain but as of now I really don't have the funds for one. Hopefully that will change in the future, we shall see! It would be awesome though since I used to, we're talking in my teens, do some 3d modelling. Would be cool to do some simple modeling and use it to embellish terrain builds and such! 😊👍
