- We bought and immediately renovated our first home! It took about a month to completely repaint the entire house, put in new floors, put in a rock fireplace wall, refinished the kitchen cabinets and master bathroom cabinets, and scraped the popcorn ceilings.
Congratulations on the beautiful home.
You guys did such a good job 👏🏾
EXCELENTE CHICOS !!! GRACIAS !!🥰🥰🇲🇽

Nice great taste. Congrats on all your hard work.
Well done
Looks great!!
Quick question, do you need to check if the ceilings have asbestos before scraping them?
Yes, the epa recommends getting materials tested prior to starting any renovation project.
This house is too new for asbestos they should be safe.
You didn’t need to remove those baseboards in the carpeted rooms. Quarter round will cover your floating gap. Carpeted rooms don’t have quarter round yet.
You don’t need to remove baseboard to lay vinyl floors. Quarter round yes baseboards no. The quarter round will hide your floating gap. Why are you putting mud on your cabinets? You are making work for yourself. You took away your smooth surface. Clean and degrease, Sanding, primer, and at least 2 top coat is all that was needed. I was married to a professional painter for 25 years and helped him paint many cabinets he would cringe if he saw that mud step. He would use wood putty in holes and work hard to get that smooth again but NEVER mud all over. He also would have protected the sides of the drawers from getting paint on them. If you ever start refinishing furniture paint on the sides of the drawers is a huge no no. Does your slide tracks no favors and sure sign they were not professionally done. It will also ruin the value of a piece of nice furniture. Great job your house looks great.
@Cynthia Shaw We chose to remove the baseboards in carpeted rooms since we wanted to avoid quarter round for a cleaner look. We also chose to mud the cabinets to fill the grain in the oak cabinets after doing some research. Agree with you though that those extra steps were indeed extra work. I think it all comes down to what you want the final product to look like! Thanks for watching!
