There's something about fishing for little trout on a lake in the wilderness thats just incredible. Love the videos, keep it up!
What's amazing is this lake is right beside the Trans-Canada highway 😉 we dont have to travel far to be wild.

Takes piece of your trout dough put 3-5 small bb split shot in it it ball it up put it in spawn mesh tie a ball, wrap it a few times with magic thread cut off the access and put it on the hook. It sinks and the stocked trout don’t take the dough you can use the same sack multiple times. I’ve caught limits with one trout dough sack on many occasions 👍🏻

These were exactly what I was looking for. Great quality.
Never ever believe any ice is 100% safe. Although I have gone through 3 times, 2 while playing hockey, the one time while ice fishing all the preparation that we took and our training prevented a tragedy. We had actually walked the same path another angler had taken, but once my buddy went through the ice fractured towards me, 10 feet away, and I went in as well.
Ice picks, throw ropes and a change of clothes made sure we made it out okay.
Love fishing smaller remote locations and trout are some of the most fun fish to catch through the ice.

Look up survival speed hooks. It's like a mini jaw jacker you can lower down o a tip up. The fish pull a pin out of a piece of spring steel ad set the hook.

The small lake near my house in CO is a basic trout stocker lake, although it does have walleye, saugeye, and a few tiger muskie roaming around, but the safe ice this winter was best over the stocker cove. I had a blast catching them this winter. That sunset alone made this a great vid!

Nicely Done! I do best on the jaw jacker for trout just with a small tungsten jig and some bait like a tiny piece of night crawler, meal worm, maggots or even power bait would work as well. Keep them coming great videos as always.

Catching multiple tiny fish is better than no fish for sure.
I’ve broken a few rods with the jaw jacker but I liked the idea of using it. So I bought a dock demon from Walmart and that damn thing is unbreakable and a complete power house for solid hook sets. Since I changed up rods to the el cheapo I bet the hook up percentage is 90%.

Jay, what size Tungsten Jigs do you use for walleye? I have purchased some 5mm Frostbite tungsten jigs and they seem pretty small, especially with a live minnow. Were you using larger prototype ones, or the 5mm ones? Thanks for any info, and we love your content.
