I watched Wayne's video this morning. Man that is so disappointing. That brand has been doing that a lot recently and it's making me sad.

Am I the only one who feels like putting my makeup on is a meditative process? Like the monks who make the colored sand mandalas, they spend time making intricate beautiful things, but they're temporary, gone after awhile and they go onto the next one. It's temporary, but great for my mental health, one of the only things I truly do just for me and yet effects everyone I interact with.💖

No- certainly not overthinking! As a mama with a 1 and 3 year old- I NEED that time in the morning to get ready. It helps me get my mind straight for the day. I tell my husband it’s almost meditative too 😝

It absolutely is! It's both a personal ritual and an art (which is often meditative in practice). Cosmetics and cosmos share a root word in Greek, after all. We order our personal cosmos in our daily beautification and grooming rituals.
I do my makeup, or rather started actually caring about makeup as a form of therapy when my daughter was finally ending 2 1/2 years of chemo at age 7. Ill spend a whole day on my face if I have anything that resembles adult plans in the evening. So, I totally get it. Its more convenient than a therapist, but not necessarily cheaper 🤷♀️
"I'm excited about makeup, leave me alone!" -Mel 2019 also me when my husband questions why I need YET ANOTHER eyeshadow palette/concealer/setting powder/lipstick...or everything else because honestly I've got a problem (but I LOVE my makeup time!)

@@broomrider2697 My husband has his collection/hobbies, we trade off listening to each other rambling about it. A good man will, without understanding your "why" simply smile and nod, a great one will remember which palette is your favorite and try to grab it on his way out if the house is on fire lol

I watched this on my phone but once Mel put on the highlighter her skin looked grey when it wasn’t catching the light? I have to think it was just the camera/phone screen, she’s WAY too talented not to notice that.

That Estee Lauder palette is beautiful. I always thought of that brand as my "mom's" brand (am now in my 50's so might need to rethink that). 😂

Thanks for doin a brow on camera. Alot of the beauty youtubers just skip that part and I will take all the help and instruction I can get on these brows of mine. Loved the video as per usual. That Tom Ford concealer doesn't appear to have much product in it. It's teeny tiny. Tati seemed to love it but the price . . ouch!

That Estée palette is stunning! I love that lip colour too....obsessed. It’s nice to see the older more traditional companies like Estée modernizing and keeping up!
Over the holidays I learned that it brushes on sets or specials are not the same quality as the single ones. So I don’t pick those up, but did get two of the single ones and love them. That Estée Lauder is beautiful

I really liked this video, Mel! I felt like I was right in the room with you. You left in many micro-moments of feeling a bit frustrated, a little too much bronzer, but then you take steps to fix it, trying to talk while doing makeup and finding that a bit challenging ... it's just so real-life, and not all edited out. I enjoyed that video "mood" today very much! And a whole lot of new and interesting products, too!

32 minutes of wonderful make-up. Brilliant ☺, thank you. I watched Wayne Goss's video last evening and I can't say I'm shocked, probably more resigned to the fact that it's part of the cutthroat world of the beauty industry. The colours in the blusher palette are lovely. Stilazzi isn't a brand we have in the U.K, but I live in hope....and the Estee Lauder eyeshadows are beautiful. Their products don't usually have the 'wow' factor for me, but that palette and the look you created is stunning. Looking forward to the next video already 💖.

Hi! Good eye brow tutorial! The new Urban Decay double-ended ink and pencil Brow Blade Ink, is so good and waterproof.The E.L eyeshadow in the center reminds me E.L X V.Beckham's Orange VIF eyeshadow from a duo.
The EL eyeshadow palette looks amazing on your eyes, and the packaging is so pretty! Haven’t been excited about anything from them in a little while. Love the monochromatic look you created!

Estee Lauder and Lancome eyeshadows used to be my absolute favorite shadows. They are really great and don't get as much praise as they probably should.
I tried two Lacome singles, Sand and Dawn, recently. They're great! Perfect warm/cool transitions on fair skin, respectively.
Mel WG did a really interesting video on the TF concealer just FYI - love your videos and love you!

I bought my first Estee lauder eyeshadow palette maybe 15 years ago and even then they were HELLA pigmented in a way that shadows just weren't back then. That palette still has one of the best black eyeshadowd I've ever tried

Got the darker bronzer duo from coverfx and I’m a medium/tan skin tone and I’m really excited because now after seeing your review I believe it will be dark enough on me. Formula looks stunning can’t wait to play with it!
Hi Mel! I agree with you with the It Cosmetics brush. I purchased the same brush during the Ulta sale and... there’s just something about it.. it doesn’t feel the same as the regular brushes.. 🤔 I don’t hate it. I just don’t know how to feel about them.. love your videos hun! You’re awesome! ❤️
The Estee is a nice surprise. It was so pigmented when you applied and seemed to blend well. The mascara and fx bronzer stole my heart though. Just have to figure out my bronzer shade. Im a med tan but can get really dark depending on how much time I spend at the beach 😁

That it cosmetics brush has become my new favorite bronzer brush. I am not crazy about it for powder either. I also got the other one from the sale and thattttt one wow it’s fantastic for setting the face!
