My Acer Swift (SF114-32), with Pentium N5000 officially turned 3 years old this week. It's still running as smooth as the day I got it and the battery is still lasting 12+ hours. Will be upgrading it to Windows 11 in a few weeks time. My only complaint is the soldered on RAM - doubling the RAM to 8GB would have been a useful upgrade.
@@ldlhicks no I've genuinely never suffered any issues. Also had no issues with Windows 11 on it. Mine has just turned 4 years old and even the battery life is still excellent. I can honestly say this has been one of the most dependable laptops I've had in my possession. The only negative point for me is the soldered on 4GB of RAM that can't be expanded. It really would benefit having 8GB sometimes.
Its probably integrated, and it is covered by a shield so there is not too much space underneath. And the processor (n5000) only supports 8GB of ram, which is the basic configuration in my country.
It's replaceable in the modern sense in that you can open the laptop relatively easy and then remove it fairly easily. Unfortunately I don't know the part number.
From the acer community site, it looks like the models that come with an eMMC drive support m.2 drives with SATA interface only. However, there are some models that come with an NVMe drive as standard, including mine. I was able to successfully upgrade to a larger NVMe m.2 drive.
Unfortunately no you cannot, the ram is soldered onto the motherboard so you can't take it out, I'm fairly sure the only upgrade for this laptop would be storage
My acer swift 1 keyboard stopped working, its a hardware issue, cant enter bios with keys. I have re-seated the ribbon cable and still doesnt work. Anyone got ideas?

@@Gianniz27 he is right. M.2 doesn't mean the protocol is NVME. M.2 is only the form factor, the interface could really be SATA and not PCIe. My laptop is like this
I like how over half the internal space is taken up by the battery!

@@ldlhicks This has been an issue for us. I don't know if it's the reset button on the bottom getting tripped, but it's been a nightmare.

Hi
What camera do you use to record videos? (Great quality)
Thank you
I vist computer center they said it can't be upgraded because Swift 1 has only 1 ram slots-
But is there 1 ram 8 or 16 GB in the market
Would have liked to see the stock interior
The stock interior varies by model. This is what it would look like if you got one of the models that comes with an NVMe SSD like the SF114-32-P2N7.
Can you use an M-KEY m.2? (NVME) or only B-KEY (SATA)
My lcd screen has gone blank, I can link up a external screen via hdmi, so how can I replace the lcd?
Hi, I didn't notice but is the memory also upgradable? Or is this an integrated memory module on the motherboard?
