You can do it without disconnecting the battery, but it sensible to do it. I've never actually bothered with an earthed wrist strap in about 30 years of working on computers, and have never had an issue with it. Even when I worked at Intel I never saw anyone using them in the labs.
Excellent work! Thank you. The SSD you put is the P2 M2 2280? Another thing: is it possible to add a second SSD in the laptop? Thank you for your reply.
Yes, I have a Crucial P2 1TB I keep for testing, so you'll see it in most my recent upgrade videos. There was a second M.2 slot silk-screened on the PCB, but no socket on the board, so only 1 SSD could be fitted in mine.
Thanks you for the tear down. Would have also LOVED to see an added memory slot, but an easy storage upgrade. I'm a fan of Pentium Silvers, with their 4.8W-6W TDP, and the N6000's Average CPU Mark of 3176 (which is plenty of CPU power for anything I do). Backlit keyboard and FHD screen, might need to acquire one in order to install Linux on. Thanks!!
If you're after one then mine is up for sale shortly. I bought it specifically to do the review and upgrade guide so its only has a couple hours use - just need to factory reset it.
I can get into the BIOS menu but without being able to change any settings. Reason: I was messing around w/ my BIOS passwd. Is there a way to reset the BIOS via motherboard? I heard you could do it via a jumper. Cheers.
hey i have a question actually , i baught this same model latop from overseas in a hurry , although is is good fro working , 16 gb ram , fingerprint and all that stuff ,but it get heated up allot because does not have a inbuilt fan , i wanna upgrade the graphics card and the processor , is it possible ..?
Hi, thanks for the Video. I've got this one: Acer Swift 1 (SF114-34-P6U1) - 14" Full HD IPS, Pentium N6000, 4GB RAM, 128GB eMMC Do you think the eMMC is removable?
Can someone tell me if I buy an nvme drive for this will it work if I install it? They have some on sale in Ireland where I am but don't wanna be wasting money if its not gonna read it
Great video ! Can one replace the SSD without disconnecting the battery ? I noticed you weren't wearing an earthed wrist strap. Am I over cautious ?

I don't think so.
is the hard drive upgradable on the swift 1 Swift SF114-33 with Intel Celeron N4020? I couldn't find anything about this model on the internet!!!
Not seen one, but I expect it is quite similar.
Hello, I would like to know if we can put an ssd m.2 on all acer swift sf114-34? On the model sf114-34-p25p too? Thank you!
Yes, it is the same thing.
This Acer is only 4gb ram..is there chance we can upgrade til 12 gb?
No, the RAM isn't upgradeable.
@@BrueComputing thanks
can i replace the cpu on this laptop?
No, modern laptops don't have an upgradeable CPU unless you replace the entire mainboard.

Yes, the system has an NVMe installed as standard.
@@BrueComputing brilliant thanks 👍
