You are absolutely right. I own an MT-07 for three years now. I rode a Honda 650f for the license and it felt much more refined, but a bit meh. And the MT-07 is still a blast to ride. But now that i have a bit more experience riding you feel the suspension is not on par. And the brakes do not have enough bite. This is why my next bike might be a Triumph Street Triple. Just because everyone says it is so refined. Which is a bummer, because if there was an MT-07 SP with updated suspension, brakes and a quickshifter i would buy an MT-07 again!
What a trip. I too just hit a deer on my FZ07 doing around 50mph and I have 0 damage on my right side. Left side just bent my shifter broke off my blinker ripped my seat and dented in my left fairing on the gas tank. Other than that it's good to go 👌 started right up. If I didnt break some bones I could have rode it home no problem but I had to take a helicopter ride 🤘
I'm still riding my 2008 FZ1. I haven't gotten tired of her! Lots of upgrades but nothing too outrageous. I haven't seen anything tempting enough to trade up to.

I love my 2019 MT-07. Put a tune from 2WDW, DNA filter and a full yoshimura pipe plus some other bits. It's fun to upgrade and couldn't ask for more for everyday street use. Love it!!
Fun factor - that’s why I bought my 2017 FZ-07. Unless you track this bike, most street riding is done at low speeds and low rpm’s. And I get just as many looks and people taking pictures of my FZ-07 as when I rode my Fireblade and R1.
My mt07 is my first bike Lowsided it twice Messed around with it also removing the throttle bodies to put cheapo chinese filters. (I was really bad at taking care bikes i was 17) i just recently started appreciating the bike and learning how to ride properly and damn its a good bike. Don't know how popular they are in the US, but I just bought a BMW F800R and I'm absolutely loving it. It's powerful, has a shitton of torque, and has amazing suspensions aswell as a full set of brembo brakes. Since they're replacing them with the latest F900R, you can get decent prices on a F800R with all the options ("packs") such as electronic suspensions, luggages attachements, driving modes, led lights, heating grips etc. For about the price of a CB650R, you get a 90hp, 86 N-m (63 lb-ft) monster. Last but not least, being 1m80 (6ft ) tall, this huge 200kg (440lb) German bastard of a bike feels like the perfect size to me. All the Japanese equivalents (CB650R, SV650, MT-07, mainly) feel like toy bikes next to it.
I feel like it would be really cool if you did a video on bikes for women/short riders. I'm 5'3 and it was reeeeaaallly difficult finding a bike where my feet touch the ground. I hate cruisers and originally wanted a duel sport or MT but the seat height was way too tall. I ended up with a ninja 400, which I love, but it would be cool to see some bike recommendations or seat lowering techniques for short riders
i own a MT07 2015 blue race abs, i looped it cuz im a kiddo with a powerfull bike and i like to show off, but other then that , i freaking love it , my next bike is for sure a mt09 (newer version) it has the power it needs , its confortable , the only flaw i seem to notice is really the suspension, it is almost perfect for me and i recomend it for all my friends that want to start riding or upgrade. (yes i looped it , i'm fixing her right now ;_; , not giving any excuses it was 100% my fault, i can wheelie but that time it went bad bad) love ur vids :) yall keep safe and twist that throttle
As someone who chose a Yamaha Bolt over the kawasaki vulcan s, it's not nearly that simple. The vulcan s has a super flat torque curve, never makes any real power, and is still faster than a stock bolt. However, the bolt has a torque curve, a place in the power band where you get that lurch in your stomach. Yamaha already has a 60-ish hp/torque cruiser, and doesn't need another one.
That's awesome! Welcome to the club 👌 is it all stock? If so you HAVE to upgrade exhaust it's amazing ❤ and I would recommend getting a bike side flash tune kit. It's super simple to setup and you can hook up to laptop and customize your bike settings. I LOVE IT
Royal Enfield is putting smiles on many faces with relatively old tech. Guys are leaving their 850 Adventure in the garage and taking a little 411 thumper into the hills. Analog gauges, no leds, no computers and people are loving them. My dealership can't keep Himalayans or MT07's in stock. I roll a 2017 FZ07 myself and even after 35 years riding, it never fails to make me happy.
The fz/mt07 is not a beginner bike it has a tone of torque, any noob rides that and cracks the throttle a little is gonna shit their pants, r3/mt03 is a true beginner bike.
@@GhettoBoyCreed guess you got a point there, I forget mine has a lot of work done to it lol anyone that always rides mine is really impressed with the torque and snappy throttle response.
Yammie! Been hunting for an MT07 for a month or two now, exploring the world of naked sport bikes as an aspiring new rider. I stumbled across a strange inline four 600cc naked called the Benelli TNT 600. From what I can gather they’re not very common but I found a few affordably priced for sale in SoCal. I’d really value your opinion on this bike and how it stacks up in the naked middleweight class. Love the channel. Thanks in advance.
Well, I also thought 2017 of such a bike, MT-07, SV650, Kawa ... and my winner is Honda NC750S. I, know it has just 55HP, but the suspension is much better then on the MT-07, so it handles better and i can easily keep up on twisty roads, where the fun is ... especially when rinding road legal with a lets say 25% margin ;). Although Yamahas CP2 is creating a big smile, on the NC I can even take a big mommy with me. The MT-07 suspension isn't capable of that! Beside that the quality feel is also better, the fuel consumption is unmatched, and the trunk is big enough for day trips.
"You can only sell the same bike for so long"...tell Suzuki that re their DRZ. And yes, I smashed the pumpkin signals off the new T7 in the first week. You DO need to take one of them for a spin!
just got my first bike today. was originally looking at a yamaha r7 or a ninja 650. sat on both loved the look of the r7 but didnt like the comfort of it, sat on the ninja 650 and loved the comfort but for some reason didnt feel confident with it, i was almost intimidated by it. for some reason i decided to sit on a yamaha mt 07 and absolutley loved it. i wasnt in love with its looks but as i was driving home with it loaded in the bed of my truck it was growing on me. got it home and took it for a short ride and fell in love immediately it was like a perfect match. enough power to have fun but not too much to get into to much trouble. as a lifetime dirtbike rider though i could also probably go for the mt09`s power, so keep that in mind if youre looking to get into motorcycles. edit: the seat is just a touch hard but not to bad where i think i couldnt ride for an hour or two so i might replace that and exhasut is a little quiet for my taste but other then that, awesome bike.
I own a 2018 LAMs MT-07 since I live in New Zealand and it is a joy to ride its light, agile and it has torque in general but specifically in the lower gears especially if you live or work in a city
Have it de restricted bro it’s an animal after that !! Sus out.. throttle plate’s basically the throttle body has a diameter of 41mm and the restriction of the plastic it attaches to from the air box is 30mm! Really chokes out the motor And the throttle stopper as well that’s easy to remove ;)
I'm completely content with cheap, barely functional parts from the factory. As long as they make it dependable, attractive and have enough aftermarket support for the bikes, they can keep it the same. I enjoy upgrading and working on my bikes myself. Keep them cheap and let the customers configure them how they want.
I bought one a few months ago that was totaled and fixed by previous owner. It had 1600 miles and hardly any damage left to fix. Paid 3800 for it. Best and cheapest bike I've ever owned
I had a 2015 Mt 07, bought it new kept it for 5 years and put 60k miles on it and it had to change the oil, breaks and tires. No issues what so ever. Really fun to drive, brakes ok in my opinion but front suspension was pretty bad
10:09 Dude, I was thinking the same thing when I tried the Rebel 500 and the Vulcan. Imagine a lightweight cruiser with a CP2 engine, that thing could be so much fun. Add a nice exhaust and you get the best sounding bike on the market, except for RSV4, sorry, you can't beat that.
Purchased a 2014 MT 07 Lams yesterday. Hopefully pick it up next week. They seem to hold value as they are one of the best lams bikes available over here.
I have the 'fz8, and it is sick. I went in looking to get either the 07 or the 09, saw the 8 and had to have it. Must not have been a great selling bike because no vlogger mentions it ever, but everyone I know that has ridden one has loved it to death.
10:57 I hit a deer at 65mph with my Chinese $1250 Supermoto and when I went to pick it up the motor was still running somehow and there wasn't even a scratch on the bike somehow so not much of an achievement from the mt-07
GSXS 750 is a great bike, and having ridden that and the mt07, a much better handling bike. Did not find the GSXS lacking in low down grunt, and I was riding a ‘17 SV650 at the time so was used to lazy low down torque
I test rode both a 2020 Z650 and MT-07 today as I need a new bike. The Z650 is smooth, incredibly lightweight, has a fantastic assist/slipper clutch, and the wonderful TFT with bluetooth integration. The MT-07 is not smooth, quite vibey, shouty, barky, and feels unrefined. It's also SO much better than the Z650 it's practically a joke. I doubt it actually is any faster than the Z650 but it bloody well feels like it, it definitely pulls MUCH harder in any gear at any revs - it's considerably more fun than the Kawasaki both on straights and around corners. I'm tall and fat so this may be different for smaller, thinner people - if I were a lightweight the Z650 may well be an easy choice: it feels so light it's like moving a 125 around, and everything feels both very high quality and a little bit boring. The MT-07 is lumpier and behind the times but was far more entertaining to ride. If you're looking for refined middleweight with no fuss or drama then I'd say definitely test ride the Z650, but if you want a laugh (as I do) I'm afraid it's the MT-07 still, which is why I'm ordering one this week!

I bought an mt07 the other day it's my first on road bike wish me luck fam and yam👌✌🤷♂️
I just bought a brand new mt07 (im one of the new zealand biker boiiies) for a first bike its amazing im loving every second i spend on the thing!!
“You can only sell it for so long” Yamaha really do be bringing out the yz125/250 formula out
What a trip.
Cool starry
Anyone else cringe when the guy grabbed the front brake lever with all 4 fingers? Lol
I'm still riding my 2008 FZ1. I haven't gotten tired of her! Lots of upgrades but nothing too outrageous. I haven't seen anything tempting enough to trade up to.
Well I see a 3 year life cycle per model so this is the year Yamaha should bring a new MT-07 to the market.
I have a 2018 MT-07, best choice I ever made :D
They did give it a face lift with the 2nd gen MT07. It got the 1st gen MT09 headlight but with the DRLs on the sides but I agree they should have updated it with LEDs and make it look more modern.
I love my 2019 MT-07. Put a tune from 2WDW, DNA filter and a full yoshimura pipe plus some other bits. It's fun to upgrade and couldn't ask for more for everyday street use. Love it!!
Great choice of music. Thank you.
Fun factor - that’s why I bought my 2017 FZ-07. Unless you track this bike, most street riding is done at low speeds and low rpm’s. And I get just as many looks and people taking pictures of my FZ-07 as when I rode my Fireblade and R1.
Just picked up a 2020 MT 07 last month and I love this thing!
ABS? And how much did you get it for? 💲💰 Trying to do my research and get one soon 🙏
My mt07 is my first bike
Lowsided it twice
Messed around with it also removing the throttle bodies to put cheapo chinese filters. (I was really bad at taking care bikes i was 17) i just recently started appreciating the bike and learning how to ride properly and damn its a good bike.
Already did some suspension upgrades and its much much much better. Plus it never dies. Battery is still new and its almost 4 yrs old.
Love this bike never think id sell it.
I wanna stress the fact that it never dies.
Like never ever left me stranded.
Only problems it gave me are caused by me being a child
@@jepoyonbikes9830 that's incredible. I had a Ducati Monster and I always feared of breaking down, I rode close to home for a reason lol. The MT07 isn't as fast but at least I'd trust it, it's like comparing a slut to wife material
I learned my lesson 😇
i thought about an mt07 but i just went and got the 2020 triumph street triple rs 😎
I live within viewing range of the factory. Might sneak in and draw a penis one of the street triples
Talon Flame I love my speedy also! Makes the mts feel cheap on major suspension difference.
£10k vs £6.5k. Not direct comparisons? Had 3 675r striples previously which were great but my MT07 is more fun for me 👍🏻
Lee Watkeys pay a bit more money to save the company from being sent to india just like royal Enfield
mike hunt maybe but there’s either a hq or factory pretty much in viewing range of my house. Pretty sure it’s a factory
I love the cowboy outro! Pretty funny Pappy.
Maybe Honda CBR? I know I’m a little late 😅
i own a MT07 2015 blue race abs, i looped it cuz im a kiddo with a powerfull bike and i like to show off, but other then that , i freaking love it , my next bike is for sure a mt09 (newer version)
it has the power it needs , its confortable , the only flaw i seem to notice is really the suspension, it is almost perfect for me and i recomend it for all my friends that want to start riding or upgrade.
(yes i looped it , i'm fixing her right now ;_; , not giving any excuses it was 100% my fault, i can wheelie but that time it went bad bad)
love ur vids :)
yall keep safe and twist that throttle
As someone who chose a Yamaha Bolt over the kawasaki vulcan s, it's not nearly that simple. The vulcan s has a super flat torque curve, never makes any real power, and is still faster than a stock bolt. However, the bolt has a torque curve, a place in the power band where you get that lurch in your stomach.
Yamaha already has a 60-ish hp/torque cruiser, and doesn't need another one.
I love those blinker!!
I just picked up an fz-07 last week as my first bike. I'm officially a baby yam 😄
How do you like it. I have no riding experience but took the msf course years ago
@@cyclonus01 It's great. It feels very controllable.
That's awesome! Welcome to the club 👌 is it all stock? If so you HAVE to upgrade exhaust it's amazing ❤ and I would recommend getting a bike side flash tune kit. It's super simple to setup and you can hook up to laptop and customize your bike settings. I LOVE IT
Great bike for anyone really. Fun to ride, not too crazy for beginners but still fast enough that you won’t get bored with it
that indicator light smashing sequence was gold
bought a brand new 2020 and loving it - first motorcycle - totally satisfied
Royal Enfield is putting smiles on many faces with relatively old tech. Guys are leaving their 850 Adventure in the garage and taking a little 411 thumper into the hills. Analog gauges, no leds, no computers and people are loving them. My dealership can't keep Himalayans or MT07's in stock. I roll a 2017 FZ07 myself and even after 35 years riding, it never fails to make me happy.
This helps so much tyvm
Still have my 2015 after 8 years . . . Only part that ever failed was the battery . . .
Love that office space scene with the turn signals 🤣🤣
Thanks for mentioning Australia LAMS requirements!
You forgot to mention the instrument cluster and how it’s too low. Needs to be moved above the handlebars.
I rode a cruiser with the speedometer on the tank. Talk about too low.
The fz/mt07 is not a beginner bike it has a tone of torque, any noob rides that and cracks the throttle a little is gonna shit their pants, r3/mt03 is a true beginner bike.
What about a2 restricted mt07 which is 35kw/48hp ?
3:08 that lil Husky...such an awesome bike 🤤
So glad I got a street triple, so much more unique and has all the bells and whistles that I could ever want. Thanks Yammie
Hey mate you still happy with the street triple? I'm tossing between that and a mt07
"You can only sell the same bike for so long"...tell Suzuki that re their DRZ.
And yes, I smashed the pumpkin signals off the new T7 in the first week. You DO need to take one of them for a spin!
Recently bought a 2017 MT-07 Tracer and I love it
that b-roll of y'all smashing the floppy turn signals was awesome. lmao
If the mt07 had your suggested changes made I'd sell my bike and buy one.
I got myself a kawa Er6-n as a first bike, im sooo happy with it :D
just got my first bike today. was originally looking at a yamaha r7 or a ninja 650. sat on both loved the look of the r7 but didnt like the comfort of it, sat on the ninja 650 and loved the comfort but for some reason didnt feel confident with it, i was almost intimidated by it. for some reason i decided to sit on a yamaha mt 07 and absolutley loved it. i wasnt in love with its looks but as i was driving home with it loaded in the bed of my truck it was growing on me. got it home and took it for a short ride and fell in love immediately it was like a perfect match. enough power to have fun but not too much to get into to much trouble. as a lifetime dirtbike rider though i could also probably go for the mt09`s power, so keep that in mind if youre looking to get into motorcycles. edit: the seat is just a touch hard but not to bad where i think i couldnt ride for an hour or two so i might replace that and exhasut is a little quiet for my taste but other then that, awesome bike.
I've been saving for this exact bike. Good luck to all!! Much love, great content!
Did ya git it ?
@leeinwis Nope... dreamers are better off dreaming, I guess
It looks like you're riding through Mexico in some of these inner city vlog shots
I want to see papa yams reaction when he sees Rossi riding a turbo busa
Loved my TRX850, and love my XSR700 - 270, oh yes baby!
The depression bgm seriously adds the depth of this whole video 😁
They sound so good!
Really chokes out the motor
And the throttle stopper as well that’s easy to remove ;)
Appreciate the Aussie shout out 😅😅🤫🤯🤤
I'm completely content with cheap, barely functional parts from the factory. As long as they make it dependable, attractive and have enough aftermarket support for the bikes, they can keep it the same. I enjoy upgrading and working on my bikes myself. Keep them cheap and let the customers configure them how they want.
This is my first bike and my only bike. M4 exhaust and I love it
I bought one a few months ago that was totaled and fixed by previous owner.
9:59 Yammie predicts the R7
10:09 Dude, I was thinking the same thing when I tried the Rebel 500 and the Vulcan. Imagine a lightweight cruiser with a CP2 engine, that thing could be so much fun. Add a nice exhaust and you get the best sounding bike on the market, except for RSV4, sorry, you can't beat that.
If 7:54 is how you usually reach for a front break you need to adjust it for ergonomics to avoid accelerating into a breaking situation.
Every time I think of what I want my first bike I wanna get, one of his videos comes up...
This is a really good video yammie. Good job:)
10:57 I hit a deer at 65mph with my Chinese $1250 Supermoto and when I went to pick it up the motor was still running somehow and there wasn't even a scratch on the bike somehow so not much of an achievement from the mt-07
Cool starry
My fz brakes feel fine can’t complain. I love that bike
You’re freaking me out man. Literally been talking about the bikes I’ve been looking to buy next
Yammers, why don’t you mention the GSX S750 when you bring up nakeds. I love mine and she looks soooo good.
How is it? I was thinking of a slightly beefier naked over a 650/700 but not as big as a 900 or liter bike
Its nice but it an 4 cyl. You will get power higher up in the RPMs. Not really a tune for a Naked IMO
Or KTM 790 duke.. I've never had so much fun!
GSXS 750 is a great bike, and having ridden that and the mt07, a much better handling bike. Did not find the GSXS lacking in low down grunt, and I was riding a ‘17 SV650 at the time so was used to lazy low down torque
Definitely the best looking
Great input! Goes to show the specs aren’t always everything. Feel is so important and the MT is a riot to ride
Holy shit bro that AD is fucken legendary 😂😂
Literally been waitinf for this
Bro didn’t even talk about the bike, all he did was talk about other bikes name
Yaaaaaaaammmmmmmy any chance you'll open those bike giveaways to your canadian bros up north 😍😍👀????
today i was thinking about getting some information about it on yt. becasue i am verry interresed.
typed' mt 07
Yammie: so you want to buy one
upload time 1 hour ago hahha
