    Well, I hit three years growing recently. So here's an update, complete with a new measurement, discussion and Q and A. At the end there's a slideshow showing my journey.

    I enjoy referencing your old beard videos as mine gets longer and longer because it seems similar to mine and it's funny to hear you mention experiences similar to mine. I just hit 3 years about a month ago, and as this seems to be your last milestone beard video I'm going off into the unknown. I keep hoping that you will announce that you're back too!

    Good to see your still growing man. Looks great. I'm still growing myself. I think we started growing around the same time bc I recently hit my three year beard as well. I have trimmed 4 or 5 inches off over time but I'm still at about 17 inches as it lays and about 19 stretched. My beard is curly so it tends to look a bit shorter.

    • @macecrawford2860

      Christopher Wilder mine to man. it hangs past my nipples when I pull it straight, even some almost hit the belly. wonder what to do to make it straighter.

    • @Norseman22
      @Norseman22 6 років тому

      Mace Crawford Yeah that is the way mine is to. It hangs past my nipples as it lays but when I stretch it out it goes a little above my belly button. You can see through the bottom of mine if I don't have a dark shirt on. I use to blow dry mine straighter but it made it look thinner so I just comb it naturally now and let my curls keep it thicker looking. With oil and balm of course

    Rawbills I have always liked your beard. You know you are a beard mentor of mine. Great video! It was a lot harder for me to cut mine than I thought it would be. But I am growing it back. Good stuff.

    • @rawbills

      As far as looks go, I prefer the 3-4 month length. I'll probably cut it to that length when I'm done growing long.

    A fine rambling video, Rob 👍 Beards are odd things and seem to evoke pronounced reactions. Awesome historical perspective on your own beard journey. The nice thing about beards these days is that most of us have a choice - to beard or not to beard. Be well - stay awesome - peace

    your beard is amazing!
    I am in the first year of growth, but things are going fast! I'll make a little adjustment just before Christmas, especially for the family dinner, but not too much, let them get used to it ... a little the same as the tips and cut the sideburns, but then ... I'll spend a year without touching it! except the sideburns every two or three months and keep the mustache a little, and little else.

    Due to injuries I've sustained over my lifetime, I must now sleep on my back in a recliner. I've had to do this for the past nine years. My beard gives me no problem at night unless my cat wants to curl up in it. So I wake up to a purring beard. Do you?

    I have a long beard as well and i take great care of it, but i notice i lose up to 30 or more hairs every single day. How many hairs do you lose when you comb and do your normal beard care routine. Mine stays full and dense, but it still seems like a shit ton more than needs to be shedding on a daily basis.

      Co-washing (conditioner wash) is the most important of all things. Co wash everyday , shampoo one day a week.

    my beard is curly. if I pull it straight it goes way past my nipples, and some strands will almost touch the belly. but it curls back up. is there anything I can do to make it not be so curly?

    • @rawbills
      @rawbills  6 років тому +1

      I recommend blow drying it while brushing when it's damp. that will tame it some

    • @Nightbird.
      @Nightbird. 6 років тому

      Be thankful your beard is curly. Curly beards are stronger than straight ones..and they give more depth when styled. And don't blow dry your beard unless you use the "cool shot" function because repeated heat..even on low..will dry hair from within..causing breakage, split ends, loss of color, and thinness. No oil/conditioner will repair this..because no oil/conditioner can reach the inner core of the hair follicle where the heat has damaged it. Beard champ here so my advice is solid.

    +rawbills - My beard is now 3 years old and 2 feet long..and I'm about to shave it. It has brought me so much unwanted attention it's not even funny. I'm a low-key kinda guy..and I really don't appreciate how some black women have even asked me if my beard is real or fake..which is about the stupidest question I have ever heard. However..when it comes to shaving it off..I still haven't built up the nerve to do it. You get attached to these damn things..lol. So I totally understand why you haven't shaved yours either.
