never in my life have I experienced shock through a simple video. and not just some regular shock. once I saw the facial details, my heart dropped to the floor.
A personal theory of mine as to why so many people get creeped out by this, is possibly because humans through millions of years of evolution we have adapted to use our senses our sight being one of those primary senses. Now I believe people see things like this as creepy is because it looks human like at a distance we perceived it as human but upon closer inspection we see that it's not human and a tiny little piece of our brain screams "this thing is just pretending to be human it's a possible predator!" Like how some species of animals evolve to look like their prey as a way to lure them in close to attack and eat.
I remember I saw a theory posing the idea that there was a time in our past that forced us to develop the ability to identify predators staging as human beings that really made me think
There were other hominids living alongside our ancestors. Quite possible competition and altercations contributed to developing the instinct to be weary of beings that look similar to us.
It could also be a developed discomfort with dead bodies, as when we die, our bodies stop looking natural and corpses are a breeding ground for spreading diseases.
I've also heard a theory that the uncanny valley effect developed to protect us from going near decomposing corpses, which could spread disease and possibly indicate danger nearby. However it occurred though indicates something scary 😭
This stuff creeps me out. Im very sensitive to energy. Living in an environment where lots of people are on drugs and their aura's are open to all sorts of stuff. I've seen some scary things, mostly posessed people. I was once parking and someone in a hoodie was standing near my car, when he looked up at me he had no eyes. Scared the ca-ca out of me.

It is just basic psychology. Humans don't like things they can't completely recognize. Then there is also the fact that there are reasons people find smiling creepy for instance. In almost ALL other apes, smiling is an insidious gesture that means you are about to fight whomever you are smiling at as it is basically the equivalent of giving someone the finger. Things like that most likely lie dormant in our instinct and make us wary as to protect you from those looking to harm you.

My favorite theory for the Uncanny Valley is that at one point in time in the world there were aggressive creatures that used mimicry to attract their prey & humans had to evolve to spot the difference between real humans & mimics. It couldn’t have been Neanderthals because there’s evidence of us cross-breeding with them & I personally don’t think it applies to sick/dead people because in my experiences I don’t get the same unnerving feeling witnessing those as I do seeing something like this. A personal theory of mine as to why so many people get creeped out by this, is possibly because humans through millions of years of evolution we have adapted to use our senses our sight being one of those primary senses.
Now I believe people see things like this as creepy is because it looks human like at a distance we perceived it as human but upon closer inspection we see that it's not human and a tiny little piece of our brain screams "this thing is just pretending to be human it's a possible predator!" Like how some species of animals evolve to look like their prey as a way to lure them in close to attack and eat.

I remember I saw a theory posing the idea that there was a time in our past that forced us to develop the ability to identify predators staging as human beings that really made me think
There were other hominids living alongside our ancestors. Quite possible competition and altercations contributed to developing the instinct to be weary of beings that look similar to us.
Experienced that feeling Arizona/New Mexico. There’s also reptilian theories that talk about it as well.
It could also be a developed discomfort with dead bodies, as when we die, our bodies stop looking natural and corpses are a breeding ground for spreading diseases.
I've also heard a theory that the uncanny valley effect developed to protect us from going near decomposing corpses, which could spread disease and possibly indicate danger nearby. However it occurred though indicates something scary 😭

It is just basic psychology. Humans don't like things they can't completely recognize. Then there is also the fact that there are reasons people find smiling creepy for instance. In almost ALL other apes, smiling is an insidious gesture that means you are about to fight whomever you are smiling at as it is basically the equivalent of giving someone the finger. My favorite theory for the Uncanny Valley is that at one point in time in the world there were aggressive creatures that used mimicry to attract their prey & humans had to evolve to spot the difference between real humans & mimics. It couldn’t have been Neanderthals because there’s evidence of us cross-breeding with them & I personally don’t think it applies to sick/dead people because in my experiences I don’t get the same unnerving feeling witnessing those as I do seeing something like this. It’s just so interesting to think about what could’ve been out there in the ancient world that was so heinous we had to develop an entire system in our brains just to protect ourselves from it.

I think this instinct came in handy during our early evolution when there were several species of human like hominids
I don’t believe in evolution, or hominids but still it’s definitely a survival gene. I believe it was created by God to know when something is wrong. Mainly when detecting dead bodies, demons, or maybe some extinct animal that used to hunt humans. I’d prefer not to think about the last one 💀.
There would be no reason to be terrified of them though. In fact one of the primary theories being floated in the science community as to why other human species don’t exist anymore is simply because we interbred with them until we became homogenous.
The uncanny valley likely has much more to do with things like corpses. It makes sense for humans to fear the corpses of other humans, especially in a survival environment. First and most presently, whatever killed them might still be around, secondly and more long term, decomposing bodies can spread disease.
To be afraid of something that “looks human but isn’t quite there” perfectly aligns with the fear of a dead body, because once a person has died, the change is immediate and apparent. They are “human”, but no longer a person.

I read somewhere that it may have come from an evolved instinct to avoid dead bodies that contain diseases. Honestly that makes a lot of sense and it's probably the simplest explanation out of the ones I've heard, but I personally find it more fun to think about the more terrifying idea that there was something back then that tried to look like us 😅
