Lovely coverage of The Story Book Museum, next time you're in Maryborough you might like to check out the Duncan Chapman statue and Military Trail - Gallipoli to Armistice located in Queens Park on the Sussex St side adjacent to the War Memorial... Chapman was the first Australian to step ashore at Gallipoli, this memorial is a wonderful tribute to all those who have fought for the freedom we enjoy. It is interactive and educational and a wonderful setting to either take a stroll or sit and contimplate.
Thank you so much for taking the time to comment 🤗 We didn’t know about the Duncan Chapman statue and Military Trail….that’s a wonderful piece of history…thank you! 🤗
I never knew this about Maryborough and Mary Poppins. I’ve never been north of Bundaberg by car. Flew to Cairns a couple of times but not seen any of Queensland between Bundy and Innisfail. Think now is the best time to explore our state rather than going overseas or interstate.
Hi Joe, Yes, it's a fascinating bit of history...they say P.L. Travers named Mary Poppins either after the Mary River or Maryborough. Without a doubt, travelling around Queensland makes you realise how lucky we are...especially this time of year when the weather is sensational 🌞

Hi Rachel, thanks for sharing...yes, those Queenslanders are beautiful. Apparently, there are many beautiful Queenslander houses on the north side of Maryborough that we missed...something to remember next time! Vietnam is a great country and we can't wait to go back 😊
