I’m a junior kicker for varsity. BIGGEST MOST HELPFUL TIP. Every in game kick is all mental. Work on mental exercises and breathing things to calm down. Have confidence, that’s the biggest thing. Don’t overthink.
Hey Caden. I just wanted to thank you for all the help over the years. I watched you when I was a sophomore and now I’m committed to go play college football. Thank you without your videos it would not be possible.
Im 14 and in 8th grade my parents won't let me play football cause they say its to rough and dangerous so now im starting to kick and i can hit 35, thanks for the help im hoping there'll let me
I go to a smaller university with some struggles at kicker and I’m thinking about walking on because i have a decade of soccer experience. Trying to learn proper football technique and your vids have helped a ton. Thanks!!!
As a former high school kicker and current college coach, these reminder videos help a ton!! Also have all 4 years of eligibility, so there’s still a chance I put on a uniform for either a college or semi-pro team at least one more time!
Just wanted to say this video has been huge for me. I got the yips after a serious ankle injury, this video was essential to helping me get back to form. Appreciate it.
Dude. Like just a few weeks ago, no one in my team no one was able to kick so we just spam onside kicks and always go for 4th down. Ur vids really helped me learn and i just kicked a 25 yarder for the first time. It is really small but I am trying to build off of that and get better. I really appreciate ur vids
im planning on joining the football team on my school next year as a kicker, and this is helping me understand a lot more than other videos. thanks a lot!
Hello Caden, I need help trying to decide what cleats I should get. I can only get one pair, can you give me just like 3 football or soccer cleats I should get for kicking. P.S. I'm in 7th grade. Thank you!
Great tips. It would be nice to see you kick the ball at the end of each section, or at least at the end. I kind of thought when you first started talking about the lean that you’d just send one to show us the body lean. Overall great video about kicking without seeing a kick.
I use a 1” kicking block and a tripod type stand for field goals and pat’s. Together those probably cost about $25. But for kickoffs there is a special tee that costs about $15. Also I was told that there was a SKLZ 2 sided tee for the same price but I couldn’t find it. Hope this helps
I am in 7th grade and play baseball and basketball. I wanna start playing football as a kicker. I just started practicing and I can only punt like 35 yds rn. Do you have any tips for me?
I naturally kick a 45 yard field goal as a incoming freshman who plays soccer, and i would like to thank you because now I can kick 47 yards and im hoping for more yard very soon. also question have you ever had a hip flexor injury while kicking
Honestly if you do any type of contact sport any injury is a possibility, try and get as much recovery as possible and be warmed up to have a less chance of getting an injury. You could always stretch before and after games, stretching is also linked to faster muscles growth and recovery!! Hope this helps bro 💪
Hey Caden great video. I struggle with getting that little hop off of plant foot after I strike the ball. I don’t know if it could be that my last step is too far or what could be causing it. Any tips?
Sometimes it can be because you are not fully getting through the kick. I don’t know if there are any drills to help with that other than just mentally thinking about it as you kick.
Hey Caden, I have a question you might be able to answer. When im kicking, I get a muscle pain right around where you would get shin splints. Is there a way to fix that? I thing it might be because im turning my foot too far out but I don't want to self diagnose.
Can anybody’s help me I have been kicking on an off Because of injury’s but anyways I was a kicker in 7th grade going into 8 I always kick with my toe anybody know how to kinda transition into how your actually supposed to kick if anybody has tips I wouldn be so grateful.
I must be doing something wrong. I don't have cleats and kick with my tennis shoes. I am saving money to buy cleats but am wondering, If I do have good lean, good posture, kicking on the right part of the foot, can It put all my effort in vein if I don't have the cleats? I can kick a 20 yard field goal distance wise but height wise I can probably make a 10 in reality. So my question is, if I don't have the right shoes, can it effect height and distance? If you can answer it would really be helpful, love your vids thanks.😊❤
You will probably lose some height and distance kicking in tennis shoes vs in soccer cleats, but you can still make progress and improve in tennis shoes if you don’t have cleats yet.
Hey you got any things that I can do to kick the ball with the correct part of my foot? When I’m practiceing and going slow I can get my foot right to hit the ball but when I am actually kicking it full speed I can’t get my foot in like the right angle. And most the of the time when I go to kick pat and toe kick it and end up missing bc I struggle with getting my foot in right angle. Thanks!
Maybe practice one steps... i personally have problems with this too and for me its a hit or miss. You also have to respect something like this takes time and practice.. i would say keep practicing and get into a habit of doing it slow then try it fast.. so basically prob just need practice...
I just began kicking the other day after years of playing soccer and it has been a rough start. When I kick it, it doesn’t float in the air the same way it does for other kickers? Any idea what the problem could be? It’s my dream to be a kicker and I don’t want to give up
Sometimes I feel like I plant too deep and I wrap around the ball/pull it left. Should I move my plant back in line with ball? There’s definitely some kickers in the NFL with a deep plant like Wil Lutz but they manage to make it work.
hey caden. another great video as always. just wanted to give you a little bit to think about when talking about the lean. when i train kickers, i look at their body type and how they move. we look at kickers in two general categories: long leg/short torso; and equal leg/torso (about the same length). The reason we do this is that their leg/torso ratio often dictates the kicker's natural swing pattern. an ll/st kicker tends to naturally use a bigger lean and an el/et tends to naturally stand more upright. the muscle groups usually are used differently, and sometimes if you force an el/et kicker to have a high lean, they sometimes end up crowding their body when planting. now, all kickers have to lean a little bit, but look at the difference between tucker and janikowski. seebass almost stands up. ua-cam.com/video/kgJlpZM-V-s/v-deo.html&ab_channel=NFLThrowback when we get into the weight room, we try to maximize the muscle groups natural to each type of kicker and the lean they end up developing is not forced, but a natural result of figuring out how their bodies develop the most power with the most consistency.
Thanks for the feedback! This is just general information that has helped me and many kickers. I know each person and their body is different which is something I take into account when coaching them. Again, thanks for sharing this information, as most people don’t realize how this affects kicking.
@@cadennovikoff just to be clear, i have been working with kickers for quite some time now, and i STILL refer back to your videos. you always put out great information!!
@@cadennovikoff btw, we are always trying to figure out the best way to evaluate body type, so any videos on that would be helpful. we see so many times in these kicking camps that they teach one way of doing things, and it is often nonproductive and sometimes can hurt them.
im a 9th grad upcoming 10 grade kicker and wanted to let you know this has helped me alot and trust me you just go another subscriber.
I'm a 9th grader but am not a high school kicker. I plan to by next year if I can get enough distance and height.
fair its all in the legs man and how much you practice@@Y2K_EditzOfficial
Me too. I am a freshman kicker, and I will be on varsity soon as well. I wish u the best of luck, brother

Those are awesome. Three tips.😊
I am an eight grader at the age of 14 and I am just now starting my journey is place kicking and this helped a lot
Thank you so much for the tutorial ❤
Im a wr and a kicker for my middle school football team this helped a lot
Oh. My goodness. Body lean helped me so much
Thanks for this vid. It has helped.
Thanks Caden I’m a kicker too I love your videos
I always concentrated on Landings with my heel on my plant foot which would automatically put me in a heavy lean
Im a 8th grader that going into 9th grade, and has never been a kicker before but has played soccer.

Phantom gx 2 academy or pros trust
Legit any puma soccer cleats are elite. I will never use any other brand for soccer cleats. I also kick footballs too
I don’t know how Justin Tuckers ankles don’t snap with his lean ! And his plant foot is really close ..
i have a question, the "pole drill" includes the leg kick movement or is a static drill for 10/20 seconds?
It includes the leg kick movement!
Hello, I’m trying to learn how to kick and I just can’t seem to get any height. I did all your tips in your video. Any idea why this is happening?
Just kick more bruh
Higher follow through
Kick lower on the ball and try to scoop it up, also don’t be afraid to test out what works for you a little bit

I play semi pro football I’m a punter and kicker I’d like to do training with you if you are still doing the virtual training?
You're pretty good. Can you come kick for the Bengals? 😃
Hello there! I aspire to be a kicker/punter, and I’m curious what type of tee you use and how much it costs? Thank you very much.

You could try moving your plant back and see if that helps, if not, then it’s something else causing you to wrap the ball
