  • This was recorded months ago when Zwift launched their new remote and their maybe we'll work with you, maybe we won't ble protocol (Just use HID!). I couldn't compete and after shortages of parts and illness I couldn't resume after they launched. I couldn't post this at the time because I felt like a failure and I was tired. But I still feel it's worth sharing

Customers suck, selling a product alone is tough work, respect for trying.

This was a great product! I used it mainly on my old bike since it cannot run together with sram shifting, so on my new bike I needed to jump back to my ancient garmin remote. And Zwift Play? Well, I have it as well, but it is sometimes causing troubles with ble connection to tacx, so I am not using it anymore.

Interesting device. I am looking to see what the actual use base of bike computer "features" are. So much feature creep for unused features. Small market.
Maybe sell your work to bigger player. Recoup or advance
Hopefully you come out of it better.

The very high and numerous entry barriers for new comers ares not a bug of the system. They're a feature.
Add the fact that the average consumer's purchasing process is, from establishing their need to acquisition, completely irrational, they have unrealistic expectations for a new low production item and you get a very low rate of success for these new comers. Not to mention that these days, the average's consumer purchasing power is shrinking by the day.
Meanwhile, many markets' leaders, from monopoly to duopoly, are dragging their feet when it comes to new products development and existing products improvements while producing junk in the first place.
If the concept of opportunity and true competition really existed in Capitalism we wouldn't be in the 💩 that we are currently in and our lives would be so improved.

There are two more videos over the next couple of days. Low success is common and this is one of them but I do think a lot of it was mistakes I made. Especially in the next video.

Making mistakes is part of the learning process.
These mistake could be minimized to avoid the death of both a great product and of the entrepreneurial spirit that could bring so many more great products in the future. We should have mechanism involving systematic mentorship, financial support, etc., ...to minimize the risks for new comers and support the emergence of new quality and innovative products and services.
Don't be too hard on yourself.
Most people who have succeeded are not the best ones.
They're the ones with a lot of capital on their hand and who attribute their failures to others or external variables and can afford to start over and over again.
In my own opinion, considering it was your first endeavour, all the circumstances and obstacles along the way, you have outperformed 95% of the people getting involved in the production of a tech item a niche market.
Look at the failure rate of those who have manage to raise huge sums of money on crowdfunding platforms.
You have shipped a functional product with very few bugs in the worst circumstances.
All this without massive financial support.
That's a phenomenal accomplishment to be very proud of.
Can't wait for the follow up videos.
      Thanks for sharing your experience.
