This is awesome - love it! The camaraderie between Mike and Mick is obvious - there are no hard feelings here! I cracked up when Micky did the "ba da la boomp" and they both broke into the "Here we come..." Hee hee! The Monkees were something he did for 3 years in his 20's - he has done sooooooo much since then - even if there are folks not informed enough to be aware of what he's done. But he acknowledges they will always be a part of him. :) LOVE ya Nez!
kimoh3 They were Monkee brothers! Through the years, he performed here and there with The Monkees. 1996, part of the tour, highlighting that year’s album, Justus. Best album! First time all four performed onstage and on the album. In 2012, Mike’s schedule synched up and all four would tour that year. Then...Davy died. RIP Manchester Cowboy. It ended up being a memorial tour with Mike missing some dates. As far as the badabmp, this is something they’ve always done. When any one does it, the others jump in.
I'll tell you why, Mike. :) Because the show was hilarious. The characters were lovable and fun. The music was GREAT. The whole things was fun. To this day, nothing has made me happier (and it's been 20+ years since I became a fan.) :)
I emailed Micky Dolenz in December and told him that I really enjoyed getting to see him and Mike Nesmith at the Texas Trust CU theater in October. I still have the ticket on my phone from when I saw them at the Majestic Theater in Dallas on Thursday April 16th 2020. Several days after the show I emailed them and let them know how much I really enjoyed getting to see them.
If there was no Mike Nesmith, there would be no MTV. Really. Mike had the idea for a 24/7 music video cable channel. He sold the idea ( got a lot, i bet) and MTV was born! When he says, do you know who I am, ask your bosses. He also won the first Grammy because he made virtually the first music video from his album, Elephant Parts. He also produced a movie, Square Dance, in which a young Winona Ryder, age 14, appeared in. In an interview, he referred to her as Nony, and said to expect her to be a star. Also, some of the Monkees songs had Mike’s signature country sound imbedded in the rock and roll music they played. ( before they did psychedelic music). There is a song “ The Monkees invented Country Rock. I highly recommend it. It has respect for Davy’s death within it,, RIP Manchester Cowboy
Thanks to @dundonian35 for telling me about this. Nice to see them playing nice! Mike gets ragged on alot but, really, he'd moved on to other things. And, I can't believe this interviewer doesn't know the history of the company she works for! Mike really DID develop and get paid for developing MTV. He's a wheel!
I guess I will never understand why everyone expects people to be super-attached to something that is part of their decades past. Nesmith is often abused for being "disdainful" but come on, why should someone who has aged and been successful WANT to go back 20 years for anything but retro interest.
Northern Gypsy He did perform with the band in 2016, 50th anniversary international tour. They put out a new album, Good Times, and a rerelease of Instant Replay, and a three cd compilation that begins with their early work and takes you though time to some of later releases. Great album.
I can see and feel the love here in this jem of a clip but I can also see a drink in Micky's hand. LOL. Great video interview from the 80;s even if the interviewer was a bore with an annoying voice.
It´s great to see both of them like this. Kissing, hugging, joking... the world seems alright!;-)
mickey has always been such a gracious and cool cat
Dolenzsmith!
They always had something of a bromance going. ♥️
My left ear loved this.
Will Scarlett ???
Thanks for this. I loved seeing the good feeling between Mike and Micky.

"Your with MTV, right? Ask your bosses." Loved it. Thanks for posting this.
I miss the Monkees of the 80s. It was the most exciting time of my life. And Micky was so darn cute then!
sshelget 2001 was my year for them since that is when I saw them in Albuquerque, NM!
@Sjaniek squeee!!! That WAS adorable! Never wanted to be Micky until that very moment...sigh...
DEY ARE SO ADORABLE AWW
Mike Nesmith - Gone too soon.

Several Sundays ago MeTV 55.1 ran episodes of the Monkees tv show all day long and I really enjoyed getting to see them!!!!!
A classic example of a guy looking better when he gets older. Talented guy
Me and my friend have a conspiracy theory that Micky and Mike secretly married...
They definitely have a close bromance. Davy fought with all of them at one point. Peter and Mike never liked each other
@@NichOlsonSmooth I've always had the feeling they were picking on Davy, especially Micky.
Now, here, we get to see "loose" Micky. Drink in his hand, voice lower, etc.

Mike seems quite amused by the reporter's naivete and ignorance...You're with MTV right? Ask some of your bosses...!! LOL
candy boyer Because he was the idea man behind a 24/7 music channel. He sold the idea and MTV was born!

I keep mistaking him for Tom Green..

@rlwest58 Nez would appreciate proper grammar though. "You're" ;)
I wish he didn’t grow that beard. I can’t see his gorgeous face!
