Hey all, hope you enjoyed this video - Do you think the 2020 Macbooks are back on track, or is the 2015 still king? For Timeline Chapters & Skips, Click into the full written description for a full list.
Hey, i have plan to bought the 2015 macbook pro, I'm a high school student, also can use for editing videos and playing midrange games. And planning also make the used macbook last longer like 5 years more which makes the macbook 10 yrs old. Do you think it's ok for my preferences? Also this video is also usefull for me and i liked it. And the specs i found at budget price: Processor - 2.7GHz intel core i5 Memory - 8GB 1867 MHz DDR3 Graphics - Intel Iris Graphics 6100 1536MB Storage - 128GB SSD (i will be replacing it with 512GB)
Hey Gerome thanks for the feedback! To answer your question is difficult but I think the computer will certainly last that long physically and it’s pretty reliable, but terms of gaming modern AAA games it would be difficult. And video editing I think you would need to consider what hardware and codec you’ll be shooting and editing on. I would suggest staying under 1080p for starters.
@@BenCad Hey ben, i know this is off topic to the video. I changed my mind to buy the macbook air M1 over the 2015 macbook pro. Do you think that the macbook air M1 will last 8-10 years? Because i really want to make the macbook air M1 last when i go to college.
I don’t know about 8 or 10, but I think the M1 has a better chance of lasting 5+ years. I’ve recently upgraded to one and I’m finding it good, although not as powerful in some areas, it seems more consistently across the board compared to my 2015. I would get the extra ram if you can.
Hey are the 2015 model still enough for cad things, iam civil engineering student and need a laptop replacement but cant afford the new one so what do u think ? I dont want to buy pc since iam used to apple ecosystem and i want to use logic pro too for my music production.
Hey Dimas, I am afraid I don't have an exact answer for you, as I'm not really an AutoCAD user. So I can't comment on how intensive it can get on your hardware but I would imagine as civil engineer student, I reckon it might be okay - can you check in with your teacher/lecturer? Knowing my 2015, I would imagine any CAD work may fire up the fans to 100% and you may have some progress bars to wait around for, at least thats my experience in Adobe Premiere doing 'rendering' for instance. I would say music production would be still pretty good on the 2015. With the way these computers are holding their value, you could always buy, try and resell - might even make a small profit! Sorry I couldn't be more helpful, but I tried to be helpful as I could! Cheers
If had to choose between, let me know all which one would you buy: 256gb/ “8gb M1” 2020 13” Or 512gb/ “16gb i7” 2.7Ghz & AMD Radeon pro dedicated graphics 2016 15” macbook pro (both w/ touch-bar)?
Hi Faith, I'd probably choose the M1 if you dont need the screen size. I literally bought one today to replace my 2015 I mention in this video. Now that the software from third parties is starting to release the numbers seem very promising. The 2016 was not a reliable computer for me. But, talking specs alone those 15" macs were built to be work horses and should serve you reasonably well too.

Good evening I have a slightly low budget I would like to know if this macbook pro could do the trick Macbook 2016 core i5 8gb ram Note that I am a videographer and I work on premiere pro Thank you for your reply
Hey mate I’m not sure you’ll get the greatest experience but it should work just may not be the most efficient experience. 8gb of ram will let you down and I’d say try for an i7 variant of cpu. It really depends on the camera you’re using? You won’t have too much fun with 4K videos on it for example and your time line may get choppy. You may need to factor in time to make low res proxies as part of your editing process. And you’ll want one with an integrated GPU too!
@@wolfzatyt Wolfz, since you asked thought I'd let you know I have started producing the next updated-chair video :) It will likely take me a few weeks or more to get done as I squeeze it in between work etc. But its what I' working on right now, stay tuned :)
Nice video. My 2016 MacBook Pro is a lemon. I’ve had it in for repairs 5 times. I am upgrading to the 2021 MacBook Pro.
Good choice Thomas! Thanks for the feedback :)
Thank you pal. I have been searching for a comparison like this, you’ve got future here.
Hey thanks for the kind words Raul, I hope you found it helpful! :)
