One of the greatest instructional videos I've watched. I can appreciate the effort in how you recorded.
additional supplies: classic rock music on iHeart radio and a 12-pack of Pabst or Miller LOL....that's how my neighborhood knows what I'm about that day :)
I come back to this every time I change my oil. Thank you!
Good video. I used it to accompany my first oil change on our 2015 Wrangler. Thanks for posting
Glad it helped
Awesome video! Thank you for posting. Looks like I'll be changing my own oil from now on.
high quality editing skills on point
Great video. Quick and simple. Thanks!
Exactly what I needed, thanks! Nice video!
Solid editing bro. Good job and well done!
Got to say, that is the easiest oil and oil filter change i have ever done. 15 minutes flat! When reseting the oil reminder, do the accelerator depresses 2 seconds apart to make sure they register.
Thanks good video. I'm changing mine tomorrow.
Thanks for the video, I thought it would have one of those metal oil filters you need a special wrench to take out. Doing this on the weekend.
Thanks for sharing this video. Now, I will be doing this myself instead of at a local dealership.
That's great, save the money!
Great video sir 👍 thank you
I love Jeeps!
Great video!! I got a 2014 JK and will start chain my oil!
Cool, congrats on the Jeep. Your filter will be a little different than mine I think. Make sure you check it at the parts store. It is definitely a good money saving job, and easy to do.
all good no issues!! Thanks again!
Amazing video
Great video! Thanks!
You're welcome and thanks for the comment!
thank you so much !!!
Awsome video
Cool video……. Subscribed…..
Great video, thank you
Thank you!!
Glad it was helpful!
Missing something, maybe? I read that on the 3.6 V6, after you remove the drain plug you MUST remove the filler plug as well. Otherwise, old oil will be left behind. If someone else could confirm, thanks.
EDIT: Great vid as well!
I use castrol gtx?? Is that good. For a 2008 jeep wrangler that has 40,000 miles.?
Great thanks
Can you do a video on how to do a tune up? I can do the oil and filter change, but not sure on spark plugs.
Evelyn Pagan you have to remove the upper intake plenum to change the plugs. I watched a video on it and did it myself. It wasn’t too bad of a job. Took me a couple hours to complete.
nice video
+Abs151 Thanks!
the tip of the oil filter with green gasket is the correct end that goes into the engine first?
Yeah I think the green gasket ones are from Fram. Watch around 2:10 it shows the correct way to put it into the cap first.
Does the drain plug require a gasket? Thanks great video!
old12school3, No, no gasket or washer on the drain plug. I have changed my oil many times and torquing it down right has led to zero leaks. Thanks for watching the video.
also...im using a purolator filter. im pushing pretty hard and i cant get it to "pop" in
Yeah mine was pretty hard to get in. Maybe put a little oil on that small O ring? Confirm your part number and compare it to exactly what came out of your Jeep. Can you still put the old one in? It isn't great practice but you can put the old one back in, if you need to drive to a parts store in your Jeep.
I thought Mobil 1 did not meet Chrysler oil requirements...?? According to Chrysler Mobil 1 does not meet their lubrication requirements. Also, there are a lot of aftermarket filters that do not have the fit of the OEM Mopar filter... I have read that Wixx and Mopar are the two proper fitting filters.
AutoXRacer, You are right, 27 seconds in I mention that. There are a lot of people that will argue about oil. I'm not picky, but I recommend using the MS-6395 spec oil specified in the manual. Sometimes you have to get what is on the shelf though. Thanks for watching and the comments.
Mobil 1 is more than adequate for the 3.6L.... Chrysler and Mobil don't see eye to eye anymore because they changed bulk suppliers and is the only reason the oil is not certified.... It's all politics! Great video!
Is there any grease fittings in the front end or driveshaft ?
Not that I know of on a stock jeep. Aftermarket probably.
Lol. Jeep made oil change as easy as even my life can do that.
should i remove the oil filter first before drain the oil?
It probably doesn't matter too much, but I would at least open the filter housing to make sure there isn't a vacuum.
thank you.. my first time to do that and im bit nervous.. lol
Can i use 5w-20 syntethic
+enrique beltran I use synthetic. I think it might be recommended if you are in a higher load situation, higher temperatures towing etc... Check your owners manual though for recommendations. Thanks for watching!
Same thing on a 2016 rubicon?
yes, same process. The filter is the same too. I believe it is the same for 2015-2017.
can I use 5w30 for jk2015
I wouldn't, because I am that type of guy and I wouldn't want any possible chance to void my warranty. Check the manual for your vehicle though. Maybe for higher temps they allow it. Not sure.
if you go fram go the extra 5 bucks and buy the special lookin one, not the orange one
pause if required could not put that better
There is a reason they call FRAM "the orange can of death".
use 100 % synthetic. amsoil is the best. that oil isnt much better than regular oil
Jim Layey I use Pennzoil Ultra Platinum now. I get it online and the cost is decent in the 5Qt. Size. Never tried Amsoil. Love your Avatar. "I am the liquor Randy"
Good video, helped me change my oil myself. Been using Penzoil synthetic, but switched to LiquiMoly, same price in my hood ;) can't go wrong with 100% synth racing oil lol
