One of the saddest movie I have ever watched. I was at my buddys house watching with with 5 grown men and our girlfriends. Breakin balls, laughing and making fun. 20 minuets into the movie everyone was dead silent. By the end every single person was bawling like a baby. A masterpiece of modern cinema. Kevin bacon should have gotten an oscar for this.

Nicolas Hume lost his son > avenged him > put his family in danger > killed a second gang member to save his life (the camera film him form above - moral jugement - and framed him in a spiral) His wife gets killed too (another scene framing him in a spiral - of violence -) once more he chose vengeance over his family (his second son is not dead) He complete his transformation, and become what he despised and faught (wearing a leather jacket, shaving his head and driving one of their cars) as he is told by the antogonist He killed them all, get killed (he's clearly dying at the end ...) leaving his last son alone. Twice in the movie, he had more to lose and chose vengeance over his family. Vengeance is a spiral. Please watch it once more and you'll see that James wan don't want you to think that vengeance is inevitable and cool.

I want to cry watching this. When Death Sentence came out I was a young kid, and at that point I had this "badass" mindset going on and always wanted to be one of the gangsters or "bad guys" I guess. Then I watched this and all I ever wanted to be was Billy Darley, and well one day I became him and if I could go back and tell that "young kid" version of me that becoming him/that person isn't always what it's cracked up to be, now I have countless fights/arrests/and a whole lot of other shit that I won't mention here under my belt that sometimes I wish I didn't have. Point of the story, I know "the life" may look and seem fun and exciting, but at the end of the day, it's just loss and pain, that's it, and Death Sentence put that beautifully.

I watched this film like 20++ times and still every time is like the first time. It is amazing how the director and the whole crew, made this film a masterpiece to watch it over and over again, because it is perfect in all of it's categories. Music, lights, zooming, casting, acting, theme of the movie etc... After this movie, in my opinion Kevin was and is the best actor out there, period ! 💓💪🏾

I cried so hard my chest hurt afterwards. I have a bad habit of putting myself in the characters shoes and I can NOT imagine the pain and anguish something like that would put a loving parent through! If you need to cry to the point that you can hardly breathe, or your in the mood to get insanly deppressed, I highly recommend this film!

This amazingly brilliant film hits me emotionally in two ways. Firstly, because of the tragic loss of his son, and secondly because Kevin Bacon plays the kind of father I always wanted. The extremely moving title song rounds off this masterpiece perfectly.

Such a great movie. All it needed was a bigger budget and script and it could've gotten the attention it deserves. Kevin Bacon and Garrett Hedlund were both amazing in this.

The end of this movie made me tear up the way he was just sitting there the expression on his face, struggling to breath he knew his entire life everything was put upside down and the last thing on his mind before he dies is his family and what he has become. Kevin bacon you are truly amazing

This amazingly brilliant film hits me emotionally in two ways. Firstly, because of the tragic loss of his son, and secondly because Kevin Bacon plays the kind of father I always wanted. The extremely moving title song rounds off this masterpiece perfectly.
