  • On Churchill's orders, an SOE agent parachuted into German-occupied Yugoslavia in 1943 to cut a deal with communist partisans who had an agenda far beyond defeating the Nazis. The prime minister realized the dangers of cooperating with the communists.

Without domestic quisling we wouldn't have a fraction of killed civilians.
Nazzis were working with Chetnics and Ustaše constantly. Ustaše loved Chetnics until 1945. Pavelić was even armed Chetnics groups. Chetnics fight against partisans mostly. Never against Italians and rarely if ever against Germans.
Tactics to use German help against partisans were what we needed to get rid of in war.

It's simple...The British supported the Croats and their vision of Yugoslavia, namely Serbian historic and ethnic territories to be divided among the borders of the Socialist republics and Autonomous Provinces they created in a future Yugoslav Confederation, thus crushing Serbian power. The borders of Tito's Yugoslavia, when the Serbian question is concerned, more or less coincide with Hitler's borders and pre-WWI borders.
When giving up power and giving legitimacy to Tito, the British sent another Croats, Subasic, from London, to agree to a deal.
It wasn't about German you see, by 1943, Germans were on the way to capitulation, and this was about which ethnic group and which Great Power would dominate Yugoslavia. it was the British task to stop Soviet and Serb domination over the area.

It is no wonder that it fell apart, because as the popular proverb says, what is born in a hurry is not corrected by time. Yugoslavia was a country, as some historians like to say with the right to say, a country that was held with a firm hand first by King Alexander and then by Tito. The country itself had areas and peoples who had unprecedented differences in economic, social and political terms. There was a huge difference in terms of civilization between, say, Celje and Bihać, an hour's drive, the first city as if you were in Austria, the second as in Turkey

    • @duncan.o-vic
      @duncan.o-vic 2 дні тому +5

Except the differences were not that extreme, and were even less responsible for Yugoslavia's falling appart. The differences were just exploited by local nationalist leaders and greedy petit bourgeoisie. Croatian nationalists, especially, like to exagerate their losses during the federation era, and claim cultural supperiority over others by comparing themselves with their former colonizers.

Nonsense! Tito was commissioned by the British MI back in 1930-ies. So, the Brits new all along that "Tito" was their Trojan horse from the beginning, as it's been historically evidented and proven that the Brits had commissioned Pavelic about the same time, too. On the other hand, General Draza Mihailovic, who had undertaken the first anti-fascist armed battle in Europe, liberating the town of Loznica in August 1941, was a properly schooled and educated officer of the Yugoslavian Royal Army, decorated with multiple international orders of honour for his merits in the WW1 and was appointed by the Yugoslavian Government in Exile and the King of Yugoslavia as a commander of the remains of the Yugoslavian Army and was ordered to organise the guerrilla troops out of the army remains and citizens, combined. Wiser by his experience of the allies' treachery from the previous WW1, General Mihailovic wasn't keen on sacrificing any more Serbs unnecessarily than French or Brits would have sacrificed of their own, and was waiting for the allies to disembark in Dalmatia in order to start the serious attacks on Germans. Meanwhile, Tito , being a plainest Austro-Hungarian soldier in WW1, was decorated by the Hubsburgs for his merits in terrorising Serbian civilians during the Austro-Hungarian invasion on Serbia in WW1.
Churchill's choice between General Mihailovic and Tito had nothing to do with the truth on the terrain, but exclusively with the new borders being drawn between the 3 "emperors" in Kairo and later in Teheran and Yalta. Who with his clean hands could have come to Cairo, in the middle of the war, if not the chefs of it??? Suez, Bosphorus, Epirus, Gibraltar - all the keys to the Mediterranean trade and good to trade among the invaders. Isn't it strange to you that none of the three was from the country that has the coasts in the Mediterranean? What does it tell you: that they are leading a defensive war or a new collonial one??? Is your educational system keeping you in the dark or is it so satisfying to live in the Catholic self-righteous dream???

Yugoslavia itself is an 1918 artificial post-WW1 project of Entente (France and UK) to award formerly Habsburg Austrian South-Slavic-speaking territories to their ally Kingdom of Serbia but not to make non-serbs Catholic and Muslim South Slavs felt occupied and hegemonised by Orthodox Serbia. Additionaly, several milion non-Slavs such are Albanians, Vlachs (Aromanians) and Magyars (Hungarians) came under the harsh rule of Serbian-lead Kingdom and later Socialist Yugoslavia.

The real Tito was killed in the german paratroop attack on his HQ at Drvar except the germans never found the body, only his Marshall's uniforms. To prevent the collapse of resistance against the Germans British intelligence substituted his half brother (same mother, different father) for the dead Tito who then went on to lead Yugoslavia until his death. Sounds incredible but its true. 1: It was well documented the real Josip Broz had lost a finger earlier in life whilst working as a machinist. The fake Tito had 10 fingers. 2: Wartime photos of Tito amongst his civilan population and supporters ARE non existant . 3 The fake Tito spoke Serbo Croat with a dialect/accent that no one could pick where it came from. Do some research of your own. I too was sceptical of the conspiracy until I started researching for myself. The most top secret operation of british intelligence during WW2 and Churchill knew and approved it!

Curious if he was related to Alistair Maclean, wouldn't surprise me, watch Force 10 from Navarone again. He certainly knew about the different factions of Yugoslav partisans. And who to trust.

'' radically diffrent people " most of them are just one people , and the others are not far off , as far as I know only macedonian and slovenian differ from serbian , which is what all the others speak , serbian .....not watching the rest of this , its always been clear that the English dragged yugoslavia into ww2 and then sold the goverment in exile and serbian monarchy down the river and hit them over the head with the paddle how or who thier little hench man were , like this creaton , doesnt matter , came in tito who was a mild dictator ....if you compare him too stalin I guess , that went on for 45 years or so , and then in 1991 came in mi5 again along with cia and made another mess there and bloody war , the end

as a half slovenian i can say that language might be slightelly different, but values are identical. the only difference i could see is that slovenians are more reserved and less social.
