Thank you very much Luke! You have made a great job. I used to live in that great city and your video just makes me feels nostalgic. Thank you very much indeed!
so far i've learned, it's the night life, the free museums, entertainment, the diversity, the places to go to and somehow the food that makes london altogether a nice place....and it's the tube, traffic, crimes, pollution, the crowd, and the busy unfriendly people (?) that makes a disadvantage. I just love the vids! i hope more are coming..... :->
I enjoyed this series....Cheers! However, I think it should continue with showing the ethnic parts of London, like Brixton, Southall or Wembley. I live in the south east of England (Deal, near Dover), but when I go to London, I mostly enjoy to go to Wembley Central, to the indian community, visit that awesome temple (Ealing Broadway) and have some proper south indian food (go to Salkonis, eat the Masala Dosas!). London is the most cosmopolitan City in the world and I love it!
The last speaker is English, but is difficult to place, as he has quite a soft accent. I'd say he's probably from the midlands, possibly Birmingham or Coventry. I'm a Londoner, born & bred.
As I've read on the comments, most of you guys say something like ''none was a proper Londoner''.So,here's my answer.London is not just a city,it's a great area which is formed by several little towns such as Blackpool, one of the towns that have been mentioned in the vid. It's really funny, because there're a lot of people who think being a Londoner means you live right under the Big Ben tower or right next to the Buckingham palace, and that's not true. Please everyone, check a map.
What Was the Music Playing in the background In the First Part? Was It Hare Krishna Hare Rama!? Nice Videos Btw!!! I have Just started My Journey On your Channel!
I've just thought of another thing, (or should I say "annuvvah fing") what a lot of folk "dahn my old way" do. A lot of us also use the word "me" in place of the word "my", in certain instances, where it fits, and a lot of us also use "us" to mean "me", in some instances. For example: ("Me" in place of "My"): "I'm orf 'a see me bruvvah again this wee'gend", (and "Us" in place of "Me"): "'Allo, darlin'. Give us a kiss!" That's how I'D say both them sentences- ("Them" in place of "Those!)
So it's a matter of being a Londoner. It does not have to do with sounding posh or something of the sort? (Most of) All of the Londoners pronunce the /th/ as /f/?
i think he did say "nothing" but sort of scoffed it out so it ended up sounding like "noffing", but his accent didn't sound like a working class accent, so it's hard to say.
In response to the guys talking about the problems with not talking to anyone. I think many people are focused on doing what they aim to do but also it's such a huge city there's not much point in trying to get on with a random stranger, you're not at all likely to see them again.
Adelaide has 1.3 million people...it may be little compared to London but it's actually bigger then most British cities. And the winter is much warmer then London's..lol.
The blonde on the right wears such weird glasses, sorry, i just rock with laughter)) Thank u for the video anyway. It's cool and almost everyone points out there's a lot to do in london. i do hope i try it out once
Not all. My Aunt's from Hackney- ("That's Hackney, dear, not 'Ackney!" Ha-ha!), and she's really posh. She's always pulling me up on the way I talk. She used to try and have me saying stuff like: "How now, brown cow?" and "There's thirty thousand feathers in a thrush's throat", and she'd get really annoyed when I said: "'Aah naah, braahn caah?" and "There's fur'ee faahsan' fevvahs in a frush's froa'." Ha-ha!
It's "Fank you"- ha-ha! And yep, that's pretty much how most people in Edmonton talk. Ha-ha! I certainly do. Like I said before, watch some Chas Hodges interviews.
Tell ya what, if ya want an idea of how real Londoners talk, You Tube "Chas and Dave interviews", "Chas Hodges interviews" and "Jim Davidson interviews"- (Chas and Dave and Jim Davidson are all Londoners, and that's how most working-class Londoners talk! That's certainly pretty much how I talk!)
It was pleasure to see these two beautiful sisters
Lovely background music helps a lot to chill out. Jazzy. Stylish. Timeless.
5 out of the 7 interviewees in this video are native of London. The other 2 are Australian.
@andrenlsbr Yes, he does say "nuffink" or "noffing" and yes that is common in the London accent, especially pronouncing /th/ as /f/.
Thank you very much Luke! You have made a great job. I used to live in that great city and your video just makes me feels nostalgic. Thank you very much indeed!
Thank you for these videos I like them!
I spent 2 weeks in London and it woke up some good memories.
Thanx from Hungary

Were there no Asians (like from east and southeast Asia) who were willing to be interviewed?
so far i've learned, it's the night life, the free museums, entertainment, the diversity, the places to go to and somehow the food that makes london altogether a nice place....and it's the tube, traffic, crimes, pollution, the crowd, and the busy unfriendly people (?) that makes a disadvantage. The last speaker is English, but is difficult to place, as he has quite a soft accent. I'd say he's probably from the midlands, possibly Birmingham or Coventry. I'm a Londoner, born & bred.
Isn't pronuncing the /th/ as /f/ like posh? Or is it pretty common among people? Or perhaps just young people?
Im not a native speaker, but I really wany to learn about London accent, I ve falling in love with it... btw, greetings from Malaysia..

So it's a matter of being a Londoner. It does not have to do with sounding posh or something of the sort? (Most of) All of the Londoners pronunce the /th/ as /f/?
I love this video, Thank you Luke!
13years ago😊
Hiii.. i am interested to learn london accent..i'm very excited to know this site..thanks
not sure if 2 weeks necessarily counts as a "native" of London; surely you mean native of the UK??
Native speakers of English, not native of London.
i think he did say "nothing" but sort of scoffed it out so it ended up sounding like "noffing", but his accent didn't sound like a working class accent, so it's hard to say.
Very noisy videos. You need to use different type if mic, which cancelling the noise.
In response to the guys talking about the problems with not talking to anyone. I think many people are focused on doing what they aim to do but also it's such a huge city there's not much point in trying to get on with a random stranger, you're not at all likely to see them again.

I can´t understand what the 3 guys said
Iza Cárdenas , that's because they are speaking with cockney accent. It's the accent of the people from London.
Go to Brixton and ask them the same question
All people say that the worst thing is pollution! Is it that bad?

Most of them are not native of London ¬¬

Yeah the "unfriendlyness" "another weirdo" thing is actually very sad, should be worked "out" !!
In London, we normally say either "nuffin'" or "nuffink." I opt for "nuffin'", meself.
she is cool
It's "Fank you"- ha-ha! And yep, that's pretty much how most people in Edmonton talk. Ha-ha! I certainly do. Like I said before, watch some Chas Hodges interviews.
I've never been in London, or the uk but I can understand everyone perfectly. Why is everyone fussing about not understanding the accents? o-o
curly haired hipster is cory monteith
I'm surprised nobody has mentioned the real shit about london at 3:20...except for those english boys with balls, kudos my man
04:19 the red-haired guy used way too much harispray
Tell ya what, if ya want an idea of how real Londoners talk, You Tube "Chas and Dave interviews", "Chas Hodges interviews" and "Jim Davidson interviews"- (Chas and Dave and Jim Davidson are all Londoners, and that's how most working-class Londoners talk! That's certainly pretty much how I talk!)
