I like the 6x4 trailers as they don't need to be registered in Victoria for personal use. I bought mine for $150 off eBay. Still going strong 4 years on.
So funny how we have those little memories. My son went with my husband to pick up an old F100 and he talks about it all the time. I hope it's a memory he has for his lifetime. 🙂
Edit - commented before I got to the end of the video. I think it's a good buy 1/2 price roughly. Firstly consider how often you'll use the trailer and renting is like 80-120 for 24 hours that's like 15 leases @100 a night for 1500, personally we lease a horse trailer for livestock transfer it beats maintaining, buying and registering a trailer in the early days. We did buy a second-hand car trailer which is very helpful when transporting the tracker to multiple properties or long wood and stuff for fencing or building stuff. We keep our money in a separate card, and have it happen all the time. I have a habit of saying to hubby as we start going through checkout "did you transfer enough" always get the "yep" but a lot of declines 😅 takes him a second to fix it but is annoying 😂
Just tuned in to this video, if you can , get a good size solid trailer, saves lots of money on delivery’s and many trips to pick big items up, wood windows doors and animals too,❤❤❤
Sorry I missed the live, I forgot all about it and I currently have a whiny dog who wants to be inside all the time. I'll make sure to set an alarm for next week. The memories we have as children are important. My dad dragged us all over the country going to steam rallies and I remember being on the cable tram dad built in Moomba parade one year.
@@thesuburbanhomesteaderaus If you’re living in an established house and already have your certificate of occupancy id say you could just set up a back yard compost toilet without too much trouble, but considering I’ll be building it first, using it as a site toilet and having the council + building surveyors on site multiple times best I follow the book from the beginning 👍🏽
Did you use a building surveyor for the permit process or are you applying and doing all the paperwork? Are you able to advise which council you are dealing with? I am about to start the planning permit process with Pyrenees Shire and wondering if I can do the application myself to save costs.
Have you ever worked in local councils? I've worked in a couple and I can tell you it's hard. Yes there's some lazy or terrible people like any work place but for the most part people are great. The main issue is that local government is so constrained by state government. State gov makes all the laws that councils then need to regulate and comply with themselves. There's also nowhere near enough funding in local gov for all the work that needs to be done
For the record I got a very quick Response and approval from council to remove the tree mentioned in this video
Everybody got back to me before xmas!!! BUILD STARTING IN 2025!!!
That’s so exciting , can’t wait to follow along .
An enjoyable vlog as usual. For working in the garden or building a house, a bucket hat has much better sun protection than a cap.
Bucket hats for the win!
@@Mrsksb-cc7my love to hear it! Will come eventually! I’m a fan
Yes to the bucket hat. Having had a few skin cancers cut off my nose I really like the protection of the bucket hat.
The trailer looks perfect ❤
Another great video well done bless you and your family
Thanks Donna!! You're a legend x

Congratulations well done

Yes to bucket hats, more sun safe in our scorching sun.
Trailer looks great but make sure you check wheel bearings xxx

Yes, my husband all the time 😂😂😂
For the second (external toilet) can you just do a composting toilet and not worry about council approvals?

@ fair enough, makes sense! I know a few that have done it, but all have been existing dwellings. Good luck 🤞

That's a bloody great trailer for $1500 - does it have brakes??
It's nice to see parents raising their children with biblical knowledge. God bless you guys.
@@abettermankind9761 definitely a big passion of ours! We will probably talk more and show more about this is future episodes 😊 thank you x
Ugh. Local councils right across Australia are just painful. They are a law unto themselves and just love bureaucracy.

@@philijean9810 Yes I have. And you are mostly right and I shouldn't generalise. For that I do apologise.
