I once left my wallet in a washroom on a train in Germany, didn't realize until a couple hours after getting off the train. I went back to the train station, they said I could try to ride to the end of the line in Cologne and check there with lost & found. I recovered my wallet passport credit cards, cash everything! So lucky that honest people found it and turned it all in.

🇵🇭❤️Mergim. Filipinos are inherently honest, helpful and kind. It's just that sometimes, due to life's hardship, some are tempted to do stupid things. I am glad you are experiencing the positive values of Filipinos. Good luck on the Giant Lantern Festival, come early this time. Do try the authentic Sisig and Razon's Halo-halo which originated from Pampanga.🥳

Hardships are not reason for people to do stupid things.. We should not validate them. There are just bad people everywhere, rich or poor, because not all hearts are good.. there will always be bad heart..there are poor people who have principle to live decently inspite being poor...they are the Lord's poor, ...so there are also the devil's poor...

@@shinhaakatsuki2516 i beg to disagree at the most difficult times sometimes people tend to do bad things. A good example is what happened to us in November 8, 2013 where the strongest Typhoon to hit land hit our very city Tacloban. Due to no foods for 3-5 days even the kindest and honest persons i know gave in and looted some run down stores to get food for their families.

Shinha, you're right when the person is not on the edge however, I agree with Neil and Ellirose. If one is too hungry or if a member of his family is gravely ill or in danger, survival instinct comes to fore and gets the best of anybody and this can be a case related to losing one's mind or self esteem just to survive. A perfect example is a dog, which should be man's best friend. If you let the dog starve, it becomes irritable or maybe reach the point of being rabid.

Thank God nothing worse than that happened to her, she was able to take the exam & just told me about it, I kinda felt bad when she told me about it, partially blaming myself for not skipping work to accompany her or just taking her to school & picking her up again at least via taxi, though it's expensive it would be much safer, Grab wasn't a thing back then.

John Hay was formerly owned by the US and was called John Hay Air Station. If you came here in the 80s, it looked like little America. American cars on the roads, cottages with fireplace, US channels on tv, imported goods in stores paid in dollars. I loved this place back then. Quite a nice place until it was turned over to the Philippines in ‘91. Good thing you were able to retrieve your wallet, otherwise you would be in big trouble.

Wow! You have experienced simple acts of Filipino kindness, Mergim. In the Philippines, there is a Filipino culture called "bayanihan" which in essence means "helping each other". It is usually seen in community settings but even if it is just one person, Filipinos are innately helpful to a fellow human being wherever you come from in the world. Filipinos have done it for the Jews, for the Koreans and so on and so forth. These acts of kindness and helpfulness are not done for recognition. They are done because Filipinos can and because Filipinos like to do so.
On another note, wherever you go around the Philippines, your Filipino subscribers take the time to greet you and express their support to your channel. This goes to show that you are doing really good work out there for the Philippines and the Filipino people support you in doing so.
Baguio will certainly be memorable for you. God bless you, Mergim! :)

My ID, a few thousand pesos and my credit card were in it. I thought it was surely gone. Later that morning, I get a Facebook message from someone from the US. Apparently her Aunt found my wallet in the taxi. She took it to a local Radio Station and asked that they announce it on air that she found the wallet. My wife and I took a taxi to the radio station and sure enough, it was there and everything was there. I was so thankful. I was able to get the lady’s phone number to thank her. I was so thankful that I asked for her address and gave her a reward for being so honest.

Just my advise: I always keep 2 wallets on me. A thinner wallet that has some small bills up to about 500 pesos for pulling out of my pocket to pay for small purchases like snacks, transportation fees, and others. Then I have another major wallet that has my cards and bigger cash. That way in case you lose or forget your smaller wallet, you still have your main wallet as fallback, or it can be the other way around. It can save you in dire straits.

That was awesome, Mergim. For a while there I was so worried about you losing your money clip. I know I would panic if it happened to me. Thank God for Angelica! Stay safe.

Glad you got it back. May be a good idea to know the number of items in your pockets and then count them just before you leave. Just an idea. I do that myself.

Glad you got your money clip back Mergim! I'm pleased with the young lady's honesty, considering the volume of customers that are in and out of that Starbucks. Good decision to stay another night. It wouldn't be safe to continue your trip otherwise. Happy New Year!

Baguio landscapes are great but when you reach the mountain province (sagada/bontoc) ,.....it is surreal...spectacular.
