I live in a two BR condo unit. The AC units are inverter. The refrigerator is also inverter. The water dispenser is inverter. I can attest that my electric bill really went down significantly… by at least 50%. I replaced my AC units and ref which were all the old types and non-inverter.
its not your ac. we run far more appliances longer in my household in manila meralco and pay about 10.5k/month. maybe management is tapping on your electrical lines or the rates there are higher
Surely there is a problem in the circuit of the previous unit. It could be grounded. It also happened to other vlogger, they are renting a house somewhere in Iloilo and they noticed that the electricity bill is too much. One company which involve in installing solar equipment offered to check the house and they found that one of the circuit is grounded which causes the too much consumption of electricity. It could also be cause by a deffective meter. Or worse others tap to your line. It is nice that you were able to move to other place.
I heard One Uptown charges the same rate as the commercial establishment downstairs. Which is also why I chose Uptown Parksuites. They charge regular residential rates. Plus the aircon at Tower 2 are all inverter types. 😊
Morning Mergim still freezing cold in the uk cant wait to go back home in philippines with my family for good in july ,glad to know you settled in better in your newcondo and paying less electricity bills 👍👍❣️
Always staying ready, Mergim... you're almost always at the right time and cover most significant events as they happen just like that fireworks to cap your vlog for the day. 😉
Yeah - the fireworks were pretty amazing. Living in a similar tower- 80 sqm and it’s 7000 - 8000 per month. We use Sensibo AC controllers (not affiliated in anyway) to manage the AC usage which really helps. I like the geo fence feature which turns the ac off when your not at home and you can control everything from your phone - where ever you are.
According to a Japanese that I know, the fireworks is for the celebration of like a dance festival in Japan. They used to have it yearly until the pandemic came.
So we stayed ok in Leyte last summer. The electricity rate is somewhere around 3-4x the rate of Ohio. We paid ~20,000 pesos per month to power the air conditioners and the house
I've watched a youtuber who rent a small apartment in the province. Her monthly electric bill was 5k or higher even they are not using their one aircon. They stayed there for few months but no matter how they tried to save electricity their bill still so high. Then they moved to a new flat of the same size. Her bill went down to 1,200/month compare to 5k-6k from previous one. She found out that the house owner have arrears for many months that they didn't pay & penalty is adding up every month. Part of the electric bill she was paying are not all their consumption.
Your electricity bill from One Uptown condo was atrocious! Granted they're using non-inverter ACs, but still it's ridiculous. 9:00 Whoa! What's with the fireworks?! 😃👍
I am glad MerGim that you experience the lower bill in your new apartment....thank you for sharing your feelings about it....we feel it too....Enjoy your stay...
I own a 40 sqm studio at South of Market Residences near SM Aura with 1 inverter A/C , non-inverter fridge , washer and dryer. I only turn -on the A/C when I get home from work for a few hours, do laundry twice a week and rarely cook. I pay no more P2,300 tops on electricity. Water is P500 min .
Here's a tip - when the amihan is blowing at this time of year, you want north facing dwelling and the ability to leave your front door open (like one with an insect screen) We been sleeping at night with the north facing window and front door open (both secured) and the temp is so cold (21 degrees) it reminds me of New Zealand. Am in Angeles city currently.
I'm happy for you! Thanks to your concerned subscriber 🤗❣and maybe that aircon company that installed that aicondition unit should be aware about their services and hoping also that now after your bad experience in that area that those living there must think twice about staying for any longer. Im from Samar and sometime I take bus going home or plane. The high way is good from Manila to the end of Luzon Sorsogon. But the temperature of buses at night is really cold, must have thick clothes or jacket. But bike is not advisable. Mayon is a perfect cone volcano unique in the whole word. Mabuhay !!
Since Meralco is the one charging you for the electric bill, it means that you are really consuming a lot of electricity in your old condo unit based on the Meralco reading. But you are actually not using a lot of electricity. The only explanation for this is that your electricity is being used by someone else too. Most probably by the building itself. So the building tapped into your meter and have you share the burden of electricity for the whole building. They might have done it for all the units in that building. I realized that there is another explanation. The electric meter in your old condo might be defective and runs very fast.
That’s what I’ve been saying it’s not to do with being non inverter and it’s not to do with usage. Either someone is stealing electricity from the unit or meter is not configured/broken. The numbers he’s mentioned are impossible by about 300%.
Where I live in Jomtien Pattaya Thailand, I don’t ever need to use the air/con as I’am right by the beach and get a sea breeze, only use a fan. I’ve been here living with my girlfriend, using the washing machine, electric cooker etc for 3 years in a 48sqm condo and my average bill for electric and water is around $25US a month!
You have revealed the extortionate electricity bill living in Uptown. Management should do something to rectify this.Thank you for your info. Glad you've found a new place where your electric bill is a lot lower.
The most affordable electric cost can be achieved in Baguio City since no air-conditioning is needed because of the cool weather. There are already many hotel and residential developments to choose from that could cater to various financial capabilities.
There are condos that does not have individualized Meralco Residential accounts, instead what they do is they use a single business account and use sub-meters for each unit. Since it's a business account the rate is 3 times that of a residential account and therefore it will be passed on to individual units.
@@boyscout-p3u Not really sure how the billing is set-up. The residential account that I had with Century Condo in Commonwealth is from Meralco with Unit Details only and not my name on it. I believe Meralco will still issue a bill for commercial/semi-commercial accounts on individual units cmiiw, but the classification will be commercial/semi-commercial therefore the cost will be x3 or more.

U don't use inverters?
