I just broke 1 mil for the first time yesterday thanks to your basic tips video, and now I can do it consistently on almost every map. These new tips are gonna help me push even further now, thanks!
Your vids are the reason I can legitimately get 10 mil points .but a lot things I'm trying to master so I can finally break the 10 mil block point I'm at
I just started the game today, I've never played a thps or skate game before, and my highest score I got was only somethint like 20,000. I only played for like an hour and by the end I was like "ok yeah I get how the game works". Sitting at work now watching this I realize I haven't even scratched the surface, and I can't wait to get home tonight to try some of these things out
Hahah I remember playing thps 2 for the first time. Have fun mate. Don't spoil it all, there's loads of Easter eggs hidden in these games which will catch you off guard lol
If you are at a standstill in a manuel, you can Ollie and quickturn(👇👇RB) and Manuel to regain momentum. It's a very tight sequence and takes practice... but it is doable and a powerful move to have in your arsenal once you get it down.
I started watching your videos and I became Tony Hawk in real life! The skateboards are holding my family hostage and they won't let them go until I do a 720 Laserflip!
I BEEN knew about all these and still can't break 11M 😭 Pt 3 you need to talk about where you sneak in all your 360 heelflip+heelflips. That's where the money is!
I press (R2 + Down) to Quick Turn in THUG 2 but I never knew how to do it in THPS, (Down + Down + R1) Quick Turn is very useful thanks Andy. I didn't know about Wallie upwards for more height I used to do them only sideways, I have to practice Grind Shuffling I did not know about that tech.
I remember thinking I was good at all of the tony hawk games because I could beat everyone I knew, and then I got a ps2 network adapter/keyboard setup right when thps4 launched, that changed my life lol, I quickly learned I was not as good as I thought, but I also saw people doing the San Fransisco robot and started to learn, I definitely remember hearing your name more than once back then. Now I'm over 30 and watching your tips to get myself back to where I was, thanks man. It's hard to get use to not using special grinds and manuals, they didn't always penalize your balance meters did they? (I also still instinctively darkslide for no reason every 4 or 5 grinds like I'm still playing Thug)
Number 1 was a fucking game changer for speedruns Knocked my warehouse time down by like 5 seconds within 3 attempts. I always thought it was an exploit people used with reverts, didn't realise it was an actual mechanic!
Lol @ "easy-peasy" at the end. I used to have a whole bag of chips on my shoulder back in the OG THPS 1 thru 4 when I'd go against my group of friends. I still think I was damn good considering 9 1/2 out of 10 times I was able to back up any pregame trash talking I might have done. It's taken to where I am now in the game, which is about 2/5 of the way to level 99, to find that groove I sort of remember having. Watching you, and playing online against people who are somewhere between my skill level and yours (which is a no-man's-land sized gap), made me realize I ain't shit, and I've got a long way to go. Love these videos though. I might keep playing this beyond obtaining the platinum trophy just to see if I could use your lessons to eventually replace the old, stale bag of chips that were on my shoulder with a new bag. Lol seriously though, "easy-peasy". That's rich.
@@andyTHPS for manual I mean when you hit up+down at the last second (basically on ground) and it kind of stuns the balance meter and gives a speed boost.
I wish there was a Part 3 with how to get over QP lips with air. The high deck gap in Roswell (max stats) and the light strip in Skate Park are kicking my ass night after night. If I just hold up I go over, but neither high nor long. If I try and boneless I just go straight up. If I try and coyote time ollie I don't go forwards enough, if at all. Just driving me crazy.
Maybe you can help me? How do you push forward out of vertical ramp onto a object.. not R2.... ollie forward like massively? That I'd why I cannot get all the gaps
I feel so stupid for not knowing the fact that the point reduction of repeated tricks only affect the stance you are doing them on. Though i don't really play that much anymore, instead i spend time on the park editor or playing parks made by others.
Hey Andy I just found ur channel a few days ago but seeing how good you are I think it would be a cool video idea if you showed us ur highest scores on each map and best speedruns. Just an idea 💡
‘@@andyTHPS hi there. I have a q and uestion about getting a gold with game mods off Every time i get 4th. Also should ¨double base score¨ be on or off.
I gots a question So, I notice grind/manual tricks take a few frames/a small amount of time to register as points Could it be possible to prevent trick degradation/loss of points by quickly getting out of a grind or manual after just starting it? I'm planning to do a tool assisted speedrun combo of one of the old games Which also will allow more precise balance, if that will be an issue
Hello, You have a good, useful video. Next, I'm going to see it more. I have a question to you. I begun to learn THPS by Bullet Sin's video. And I have some questions...
does quick turn work in thps4? I have reunion with this game. I wasnt really good at this when I was a kid but a friend of mine has ps2 with thps4 and right now it clicked for me and I'm having so much fun playing it. I was trying these quick turns and nothing happens really
the highest point combo i've gotten was just over a million on school 2 after, like, an hour of pain. am i cooked? should i just keep playing and wait until i get better in, like, five years? i also struggle with maintaining speed any time after i revert once. am i suppose to hold ollie while in a manual, too?
Awesome thanks for more help Andy. Would you say shuffling is better than button mashing, because it’s faster you spend less time on a rail? But still after 2 grinds on the same rail you’re out of balance?
@@andyTHPS tried it didn’t notice a difference while manual. I know how to do every move n revert n stuff n i start combos but it’s jus never enough speed or bumping into things
My current highest is 56 mil after 4 days on thug pro and a lot of time on thug back in the day. My goal is 100 mil but I usually die to meter and I don’t know how to fix it
I have to unlearn allot of bad habits first. Like spinning with the stick instead of L1 or R1, I also hold the jump button as soon as I land a grind or manual so I can't switch grind or do flatland tricks in between .
tried all ways, watched all the videos but i still suck. there is no way I can do such long combos. the xbox controller is a nightmare, most of the time the manual doesn't work. when it works the balance meter is gone... maybe I have to practice even more but it's frustrating.
you for real don't need a robot line for such a modest score requirement. Robot lines are for combos in the 10s of millions of points and more. If you only want to get to the 300k point, just learn to manage the balance meter well and you'll get there.
I'm shocked hearing of some of these people who've played the series for years and never figured some of this stuff out. Given I learned a lot once I started playing with others online, back when there was an observation mode that let you watch other players when the round was over. One of the many things that I miss from the other titles online modes that THPS 1+2's version lacks.
These videos are really amazing. I’m just garbage. What I would do just to get a million combo to get platinum 😂😂😂 I can only get 300-400K combos……. Ya. Dog Shit.
It is honestly so stupid the game punishes you for using reverts. I get slowdowns but only four times to use it? Terrible gameplay design. Thps 3- Proving Ground didn't have this problem.

Big tips. Im beginning to see the replayability in perfecting your line. OF course i played as a kid but never tried to dial it in
