This is a great resource for those needing to install windows on their own! Thank you for providing such a great step by step video. Looking forward to more videos. :)
This is great. Super helpful. We've got a couple windows to install, and I think the tips here will all apply to them. Question though, the little support beams in the window, I think I saw you also cut right through those. We were wondering if they needed anything special, but guess not. : )
A Curious Expedition Travel The supports that get cut out are to hold the body panels from vibrating while driving. They aren't structural supports to the panel that the window is going in. See you soon!!
Did you drill holes for the screws? My CR Laurance window has holes in the retainer ring, but not in the window. If drilling is required, what size hole?
Hello Ed. The window does not need drilled on the one that I installed. There will be a small gap on the outer edge that the screws go into and will cut their own threads.
CRLaurence is the manufacturer of this window. they dont distribute direct to customer but you can find them online via other suppliers www.crlaurence.com
Can you tell us about what saw blade you used please? We used "T Shank Jigsaw Blades Set for Wood Plastic Metal Replace Bosch DEWALT BLACK+DECKER TACKLIFE ... T118A size," but it was very slow going. Thank you!
Hello, we use the T118 or T318 blades. Yes it is slow going but they are the correct tooth count for the thickness of steel you are cutting. Happy travels 👍
Great video!! Thank you! :) We put our window in yesterday and have about a pinky finger sized gap between the window and the door on the side further away from the passenger front window. Does yours have a gap or do you think we need to sand more and push in more? Thanks a bunch!
Hello Danielle, there should be absolutely no gap around the outside of the window. Sounds like the window is catching up a little - get it flush. Make sure you paint after sanding/cutting. Best wishes!
Hi, What type (and if possible what number) Sikaflex did you use on the window. I am having some gaps and want to seal it and am wondering if I should use Sikaflex instead. I don't think I want the self levelling sealant or the adhesive sealant.... so wondering what to use as I seem to have gap(s) on my promaster window. I see yopu used the construction adhesive... does this have enough Flex to it?
ChasingRiver Hi there! I would recommend to use sikaflex or marine grade sealant. I agree with you that self leveling is not good to use on a vertical surface. For this project I used sikaflex construction adhesive, since they had it on hand. For my own van, I used marine 4200 sealant but 4000 also works. Best wishes on your promaster conversion! Hope to see you on the road!

Can I replace my factory sealed window on my Ford transit passenger van with a T vent window that opens on my slide door?
Perfect video for my needs. Thank you. Where did you buy window? Or did you just get a replacement window from Ford?
