Tested it out. The update for the gpu itself gave a few more fps with forza horizon 5. I tested fmf but I’m not a fan of the extra input lag since I play mostly a combo of racing and fps online games.
finally! been using 7840u igpu driver for months, it's essential to have afmf because of the week igpu driver in combination with 120hz screen need to be solved.

After this update my emulator experience got messed up.. retroarch started becoming choppy and laggy.. fast forward doesnt work. Not sure if its the update or something with retroarch getting messed up. Any idea why this could have happened?
Emulators use a separate "virtual machine" layer that is seperate from each game and has to be coded at the emulator level, I would ask this question on the emulator forums and when it will be patched in, otherwise turn it off.
Sold mine last year due to problems with the sd card slot. Hope for a second Version of the Device. Still the best PC Console as a lightweight powerful device. It needs Oled and a Trackpad and reallocated Thumsticks(too close to the buttons for my fat hands) for being perfect. I also tried the Lenovo Legion which is too heavy for me but also a good device! Also the MSI Claw needs more development to be a good alternative. Maybe I´ll try the steam deck oled soon
If you want the biggest screen but software isn’t the most refined, perhaps get the Go. If you want a great 1080p 7 inch screen with greatly updated software and probably at a decent price, perhaps get the Ally. If you want the most vibrant screen and don’t mind the slightly lower 800p, with the most matured software, perhaps get the Steam Deck OLED. Let us know which you pick!
Do these updates matter if we play on cloud services such as XboxCloud? Im still getting real laggy, choppy frames while playing on cloud services however, playing games installed have been incredible!
I have the ally and lego. The ally is crushing the lego in terms of software. And it's sad because the Lego has the better peripherals. 2 usb c ports, solid transfer speeds to the sd card, the detachable controllers, the mouse mode, the better screen, hall effect sticks, non proprietary eGPU support, built in kickstand, etc. And i think the Lego app LOOKS better than the asus app, but the asus has a better layout and simply better settings options. Like on the lego to change the UMA buffer, i have to go into bios. In the ally, it's in the app, and then it restarts on its own. But software wise, it's been so bad that you really can't go wrong with either device.

Ur not missing out on much the fram gen it's ok but sucks in my opinion. Vsync has to be off so screen taring plus input lag. Better to wait for devs to implement it in-game so we can have vsync on.

had the same problem months ago when used 780m driver for afmf. what solved it for me was to open adrenalin software panel,, go to the messages section (the bell on the upper right corner) and to delete all the messages. it works perfectly since.
My AMD software app does not open as says not installed. no compatible driver. it used to work when i first purchased the ROG but wont run at all now even after re down loading from AMD. I t still says i dont have the software! Any help appreciated.
You need to try fully removing you graphics driver and then reinstalling an official driver from Asus. And has a tool from their website, also another one is called DDU, search that.
I have a problem with my Rog Ally. When playing games the top left joy stick when shifting it to the side, left and ride it dosent work and dosent respond and would not work at all. What do I do? The top left joy stick when shifting it forward and down it works but not to the side. Any suggestions? @@nexxus_8487 yeah I always cycle through all the possible update places: armory crate, myAsus, windows store and windows updates. The store had some pretty major ones in the past. AMD software gets updated there a lot.

You may google it and some already talked about that, even though they are not using a rog ally. There are some solutions might help, but need to try one by one. AFMF is a damn big joke , I've tried on 10 games , Cyberpunk , DD2 , Horizon 5 , witcher 3 , SF6 , dead island 2 , 7days to die , RDR2 , BeamNG , Hunt showdown , AFMF is not working and useless. DD2 still FPS 20 can't play , Cyberpunk 2077 even drop like 10FPS. even cause lagging in palworld which you played in your video!! didn't you notice?
Pointless imho. To the extent it gives you "more" fps. Its makes it extremely choppy. My FPS is absolutely all over the place with afmf on. Its not enjoyable in the slightest. Give me a stable lower fps over fosnthat peaks at 100 and drops as low as 35

Man with this update every other competition is left in the dust. All my games had a bump in fps especially MHW from like 60 fps to 100+

I can't play Fallout New Vegas now. It crashes in loading screen. I've been too hung up on this to check anything else.

Fluid frames is amazing, as long as you can play above 55-60 fps without it. Costs too much to run otherwise & the lag…

You have to update the amd software from the windows store.
